Scene Rendering in Modern Computer Games
Wilczák, Martin ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis describes methods for lighting calculations of large scenes used in modern computer games. Forward shading and deferred shading methods are discussed and compared. Capabilities of raytracing are shortly described. There are some information about various methods for casting shadows, simulation of particle systems and applying post-processing effects. In the end there is a design of architecture for rendering complex scenes with use of XNA and description of implementation used in resulting game.
Object Localisation in 3D Space
Šolony, Marek ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
Virtual reality systems are nowadays common part of many research institutes due to its low cost and effective visualization of data. They mostly allow visualization and exploration of virtual worlds, but many lack user interaction. In this paper we suggest multi-camera optical system, which allows effective user interaction, thereby increasing immersion of virtual system. This paper describes the calibration process of multiple cameras using point correspondences.
Online LaTeX Editor
Sokol, Miroslav ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This diploma thesis has its purpose in creating such an editor of LATEX language, which would succeed in the competition of existing solutions. To offer users a basis typical for this type of editors and add functions that will make him a unique project. The progress went in a direction of transparent environment and completely trivial operating. Most of the functions are available through 1 click only. Predefined templates are displayed immediately including previews and it is possible to download them with all source codes. Some kinds of actions redraw the whole content of the page. In other cases, we used update panels for partially redraw the content or client javascript. Due to available archivation of .zip files we can even process more files at the same time. Program is designed in a way to be able to further continue developing it and even broaden his features.
Localization of Mobile Device in Space
Komár, Michal ; Láník, Aleš (referee) ; Šolony, Marek (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the current localization options of the Android mobile phone platform. It explores the possibilities of locating mobile devices not only with the use of inertial sensors, but also the possibility of localization using integrated video camera. The work describes the measurements done with available inertial sensors, introduces visual localization algorithm and design a system using these two approaches.
Automatic Creation of Lightsabre Effects
Vagner, Ondřej ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Žák, Pavel (advisor)
The lightsabre effect is probably one of the most famous movie effects. Its creation is usually done manually which is time consuming. This paper presents an original approach of automatic lightsabre effect creation in the video. Key element of the entire method is detection of sword imitation in the video sequence and its replacement with desired effect.
Braille Reader
Mezírka, Martin ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Maršík, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis concern with problem transforms Braille's documents into text form. At first focus on Braille alphabet and principle of the scanners. Next is represent design of potential method of recognition Braille's documents. At the end is situated description of program's implementation with used library    OpenCV and Qt framework. Conclusion discusses reliability and some program's extensions.
Procedurally Generated City
Hájíček, Lukáš ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Šolony, Marek (advisor)
This work is about procedural generation of cities. There are defined the different stages of city development and existing methods used to achieve them. The following describes the procedures used to implement a system capable of generating cities. The resulting generator is able to generate cities based on given parameters such as density of streets.
Stereoscopic Navigation of a Robot
Žižka, Pavel ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Žák, Pavel (advisor)
This work describes 3D reconstruction using stereo vision. It presents methods for automatic localization of corresponding points in both images and their reprojection into 3D space. Application created can be used for navigation of a robot and object avoidance. Second part of the document describes chosen components of the robot. Path finding algorithms are also discussed, particulary Voronoi's diagram.
Indie Game Development
Zachariáš, Michal ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with development of indie game - independently-developed game. It describes important moments in computer games history. It clarifies terms like golden age of video arcade games and video game crash of 1983. Further it explains history and origin of indie game phenomenon. It describes some of the differences between independent and commercial game development. In next chapter it presents some game engines which are suitable for independent game development. And in the last chapter it describes the design and implementation of game engine and game running on it.
Team-Based Microblogging Service
Krutiš, Tomáš ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This master's thesis focuses on the creation of microblogging services for teams. The thesis describes the research and analysis of current microblogging services and finding their strength and weaknesses. Based on the analysis is designed new service which focuses on communication between team members. It is also discussed implementation of the proposed service and on the conclusion are summarized future extensions to improve this service.
