Television coverage of women athletes during the Olympic Games

Name: Television coverage of women athletes during Olympic Games Goal: The main goal of this thesis is to summarize the television broadcasts of the Czech and Finnish public service broadcasters of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, primarily from the perspective of gender balance. Further goal is to compare the broadcasts of both broadcasters. Methods: The methods of analysis and comparison were used in this paper. The method of analysis was applied in the analysis of individual broadcasting days, in which the time devoted to each sport and gender was calculated and the type of broadcast was recorded. The method of comparison was then applied when comparing the estimated proportion of the time women were given in the broadcast with the time actually given to them. The same method was also used when comparing the Czech and Finnish broadcasts of the Tokyo 2022 Olympic Games. Results: On the basis of the processed data, it was found that the broadcast balance can be evaluated in several ways and depending on the method of its calculation it is even possible to reach opposite conclusions. The influence of migration of Czech basketball players on their career

Title: The influence of migration of Czech basketball players on their career Objectives: The main aim of this diploma thesis is to find out if a migration of young Czech basketball players is proper for their future career. Methods: The first method, that was used in this work, is a quantitative method - analysing the secondary data. These data were collected from the websites eurobasket.com, cz.basketball, proballers.com and cbf.cz. Before the analyses, there was defined a selection aggregate of players, who are included to the analyses. The selection aggregate contains the players, that leaved Czech Republic during a period of years 2010- 2020, before they had been 25 years old, and their departure was their first one. After the first phase of analysis, there were found out 82 players that this selection aggregate contains. These players were evaluated by three factors of success (a length of their top- level career, a length of their top-level international career and a quality of the leagues, where these players were playing). Instagram of selected basketball clubs

Title: Instagram of selected basketball teams Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to make the recommedation for selected czech profesional basketball teams. The recommendation will cover communication and Instagram content. Then all the recommendations will help both basketball teams and other sports associations. Methods: In this bachelor thesis the method of quantitative and qualitative data research is used. In the first stage, a quantitative method is used in the form of analysis of Instagram accounts of four selected basketball teams. This is followed by a qualitative method which is conducted using a focus group with eight basketball fans who were selected by the teams based on set criteria. Results: The analyses conducted show that basketball teams acting in the same NBL competition are not on the same level within the Instagram social network and there are significant differences between them. As a result, 2 out of 4 clubs maintain a high-level Instagram account. In the second case, there is a lack of communication with fans, consistency and consequently diversity of content. Title: Comparison of sports systems in the Czech Republic and Finland Objectives: The main goal of the thesis is to compare sports systems in the Czech Republic and Finland based on eight specified aspects. Methods: Analysis of secondary documents, primarily documents issued by ministries and sports associations, and the comparative method were the two main methods used for the thesis. Results: The thesis revealed significant differences between the sports systems in the Czech Republic and Finland. The differences were found primarily in budget allocation, talent development and sports funding. The Finnish sports system is more advanced in most of the analysed aspects. Title: The influence of sport migration on Czech volleyball Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to use statistical analysis to examine the dependency between number of foreign players operating in Czech volleyball clubs and the achieved winning percentage in the basic part of the Czech extra league for the seasons 2010/11 to 2021/22. Furthermore, the dependence between the number of Czech representatives playing abroad and the performance of the men's national team at international competitions was statistically analyzed. The obtained results are then compared with the results of in-depth interviews with selected players and coaches, who help explain the findings and provide additional information from practice. Methods: The work contains a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods in the order of sequential triangulation. The first method deals with finding the tightness and type of statistical dependence through the Spearman correlation coefficient. The second method concerns conducting semi-structured in-depth interviews, according to an outline created on the basis of statistical results. Sponsorship of the Czech handball club

Title: Sponsorship of the Czech handball club Objectives: The main objective of this diploma thesis is to create a sponsorship package to address and potentially gain the general sponsor of the Czech handball club TJ Sokol Nové Veselí. Methods: In this diploma thesis, qualitative methods are used - analysis of texts, documents, websites and social networks. Furthermore, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the vice-president of the club. Semi- structured interviews were also conducted with representatives of selected companies. Results: An analysis of the current situation and the interviews showed that the club does not currently have a comprehensive sponsorship package. Communication with sponsors always took place individually on the basis of specific negotiations and a comprehensive form was lacking, which reduced the effectiveness of negotiations. For this reason, the first part of the work focuses on the analysis of the current situation, the possibilities and the offer of counter-services that the club can offer. Based on this, one basic package was created, as the interviews showed that this strategy is more effective for the club. Title: Use of foreign players in the first Czech league of American football Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to determine the game and club contribution of foreign players (as defined by the CAAF) who played in the first league of American football in the Czech Republic in 2013-2019. To compare their game efficiency with other players and to determine whether foreign players had an impact on the development of the membership base, spectator attendance and league balance. Methods: The thesis analyses secondary data obtained from the web portal of the Czech Association of American Football and internal data provided by the association itself. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight representatives of first league American football clubs in the Czech Republic. The number and position of foreign players between 2013 and 2019 who were classified as Foreigners or Imports by the association was examined. The key information for the thesis was selected football statistics. The effect of these foreign players on the development of the membership base, average spectator attendance and league balance was also examined. Title: Management implementation of the basketball tournament Easter Cup Klatovy Objectives: The main goal of this thesis is to improve management of the basketball tournament Easter Cup Klatovy. The aim is to detect its shortcomings and eventually propose recommendations for the upcoming years. Methods: This thesis uses methods of the quality research. As part of the case study, the document analysis took place first, followed up by the semi-structured interview with the main event coordinator used for getting valuable in-depth information. Lastly, two informal interviews took place to get more of a practical point of view. Based on all the data collected, the final SWOT analysis was put together. Results: The result of this bachelor thesis is a detailed analysis of the basketball tournament Easter Cup Klatovy. This analysis led the author to the following findings: the biggest strength of the tournament is the quality level as well as its loyal customer base. On the other hand, the tournament's biggest flaw is its high registration fee together with its unclear organizational structure. Title: Comparison of selected minority sports in the Czech Republic from the player, spectator and management aspects Objective: The aim of this work is to analyze the current situation in American football, frisbee and lacrosse in Prague and make suggestions for future improvements. Methods: The applied methods included the study of literature, collection of information, questionnaire examining players motivation and SWOT analysis. The research was conducted through surveys among athletes doing this sports. Results: Research has shown that the best prospects are waiting for frisbee, which benefits from minimum requirements for equipment and space. American football and lacrosse will probably never become mass sports, but using the above suggestions can improve their current position. Title: Influence of Rugby World Cup and Summer Olympic Games on the awarness of FTVS students about rugby Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is detection, if big sport rugby events had any influence on awareness of rugby for students of Faculty of physical education and sport. Concretely, if the knowledge about Rugby World Cup and rugby tournament at Summer Olympic Games increased. And then, if their knowledge about rugby rules, world rugby, Czech rugby and women's rugby increased. Methods: I used the methods of quantitative research in ma thesis. I created two electronic questionnaire through the web site Vyplnto.cz. One of the questionaire I distributed in 2015 (before the Rugby World Cup) and the second questionnaire I posted in 2016 after the Summer Olympic Games. Results: The results of research demonstrated the impact of the big rugby events. The awareness of students about rugby increased. Their basic knowledge about world rugby and rugby rules increased.
