Diplomová práce na téma Mediální reprezentace politiků ve zpravodajství televize Nova (se zaměřením na sjezdy ČSSD a kongresy ODS v letech 1995-2017) se zabývá podobou politického zpravodajství nejsledovanější komerční televize v České republice. Konkrétně si klade za cíl představit, jak se od roku 1995 do roku 2017 měnil přístup hlavního zpravodajství televize Nova k informování o stranických sjezdech a kongresech tradičních českých politických stran - ČSSD a ODS. Práce vychází z předpokladu, že televize Nova je ze své podstaty orientovaná zábavním směrem, ryze politická témata tak nejsou pro její zpravodajství stěžejní a nestojí ani ve středu zájmu jejího typického diváka. Přesto tento typ zpráv v průběhu let nebyl ve zpravodajské relaci Televizní noviny opomíjen. Na podzim roku 2017 v souvislosti s volbami do Poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu České republiky a prezidentskými volbami na počátku roku 2018 je navíc možné u televize Nova zaznamenat náznak rozšíření politického zpravodajství v podobě jejího historicky prvního kontinuálního volebního vysílání. Práce tedy sleduje změny, které nastaly při referování o obecně politickém tématu v televizi Nova v období, které je přibližným průřezem let od počátku jejího vysílání až po současnost. This thesis focuses on the topic of Media Representation of Politicians in the News Reporting of TV Nova (with a focus on ČSSD congresses and ODS congresses in 1995-2017) as well as the form of political reporting on the most popular commercial TV in the Czech Republic. Specifically, it aims to introduce how TV Nova changed their approach to prime time news reporting on political events and congresses of traditional Czech political parties - ČSSD a ODS in the period from 1995 to 2017. The thesis is based on the assumption that TV Nova is inherently focused on entertainment and, in terms of reporting, truly political topics are not crucial, nor they are at the centre stage for a typical viewer of TV Nova. Despite this fact, this type of report was not marginalised in the news programme - TV News. In relation to the parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic in autumn 2017 as well as the presidential elections at the beginning of 2018 it is possible to notice a glimpse of an increased inclusion of politically orientated reports in the form of unprecedented continual election broadcast by TV Nova. This thesis observes changes that have occurred in relation to referring to general political topics on TV Nova in the period from the start of its broadcasting to the present time.
