The History and the Present : a journal about culture and history in ever-changing time (1959-1969)
Nováková, Alexandra ; Sekera, Martin (referee) ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses at the beginning and evolution of the Dějiny a současnost journal (The History and the Present) from the late 50s of the 20th century till the prohibition of publishing the journal in 1969. The media, historical, political, and legal context is accentuated. The work also describes features, contents, and the changes of media at the end of the 60s generally. It shows the change of the original intention of the publisher in 1963, when the journal opposed the regime. In 1965, after an encroachment of the Communist Party, the ambitions of the journal temporarily stopped, however, during the Prague's Spring, the journal became progressive again and promoted the ideas of reformed communism.

Česká stráž Journal (1890-1901) and its most Influential Editors
Baloun, Pavel ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Velek, Luboš (referee)
The object of this work is to analyse Česká stráž journal at the end of 19th century (1890-1901). The main stress is put on the period, when the editorial staff consisted of an editorial trio (Cyril Horáček, Václav Choc and Eduard Koerner), who were trying to create a new political party. At that time the editors had made contacts with the political and cultural elites such as Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, Josef Svatopluk Machar etc. The editorial group of Česká stráž journal belonged to a radical movement of Czech lands. However, the editors split up at the dawn of the 20th century and each of them entered a different political party.

Development, description and evaluation of a basic course for German as foreign language in the education of adult people - levels B1 - B2
Dvořák, Vojtěch ; Vachková, Marie (referee) ; Berglová, Eva (advisor)
My dissertation introduces a new programme for language teaching of adult people in the working process. Its goal is to describe the tutorial with a focus on achieving the levels B1-B2 according to the classification of Common European Reference Framework. The starting-point is an identification of specific conditions for learning in companies, which are especially students' big busyness, accompanied by irregular attendance in courses and minimum opportunities for their home self-study. Available teaching materials are not adapted suitably and the learning process based on these materials is very inefficient. This mainly means an inappropriate presentation of vocabulary in form of vocabulary lists, which suggest learning word-units without the context and dividing the grammar system into many partial phenomena in a large number of lessons, which does not allow to create and keep solid grammatical foundations. The structure of the educational materials disregards the specifics of teaching adults and is set for high school learning enviroment, expecting long-term systematic studies including regular home studying. The new programme adequately addresses the methodology and organization of teaching in limited learning conditions. Acquisition of language skills was divided into complementary learning systems,...

The Development of the Green Party in the Cz. Rep. Between the Years 2000 and 7
Tejkal, Jiří ; Havlík, Radomír (referee) ; Stracený, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the origin and evolution of the Czech Green Party to 2007. Despite the fact that after the revolution in 1989 everything suggested that the Greens might significantly influence the political scene, their preferences were moving around 1 % throughout the nineties. The year 2002 was the turning point, when the party reached state support in the elections to the 'Parliament. In 2003, ecological activists Beránek and Patočka held the head position in the party. Gradually, a strong intra-party opposition grew against them, and in 2005 Martin Bursik was elected the party chairman. Under his leadership, an upward tred of the party could be observed: after half a year of his presidency the Greens got into Parliament 75 and, after complex negotiations, to the government. This was also caused by an unprecedented political orientation to the right wing of the political spectrum.

The kinds of identity in the Czech interwar romance
Svobodová, Marta ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
The graduation thesis focuses on the types of social identity created between the lines of the story about the romantic love. The selected books (the thesis choose the texts, which were published as books, although there is also a huge range of texts published as part-issues) fall into the works of the most popular writers in the interwar era in the new established Czechoslovakia (Javořická, Zahradník-Brodský, Utěšitelová, Kyzlinková etc.). The analysis of the texts shows, that the period, when they were published, influences the social meaning of the concepts used as motives, which sketch in the dramatic or on the other hand the lyric atmosphere. The new established state as the new social-political organization uses the metaphors of the Czech national revival as social stereotypes to remake and reinforce the Czech national identity. Though there are other types of identity as local identity, religious (Christian) or gender identity, they all at least partly embody in the changed national identity.

Historical development of Britisch Labour Party since 1900 to 2001
Válová, Lucie ; Stracený, Josef (advisor) ; Havlík, Radomír (referee)
The diploma thesis describes the development of British Labour Party from its foundation in 1900 to the end of the first term of Tony Blair's government. The work focuses on the ideological development of the party in historical context. The party was founded as a left-wing organisation, supporting the working class, collaborating with trade unions and its main aim was nationalization of the means of production and establishing of socialism in Britain. The party left this aim at the end of 20th century by the revision of its constitution it claimed to be a modern social democracy, which supports capitalism. The kernel of the problems is in the so called "revisionist era", i.e. from 50th of 20th century to 90th of 20th century, when Blair became a leader. Then the party was labeled as New Labour Party and it introduced itself as an organisation with its own concept of the Third Way. The work is based mainly on publications of British political scientists, whose works have not been translated yet into a Czech language.

Mpembe effect - reality or fiction? (Hysteresis by water freezing).
Böhm, Pavel ; Obdržálek, Jan (advisor) ; Rotter, Miloš (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to review theoretically and experimentally so-called Mpemba eect, where the initially hot water freezes sooner than the initially cold one. Based upon already published theoretical and experimental works, a list of circumstances possibly supporting this phenomenon was created and discussed. Some situations were veried experimentally. These experiments were carried out partly in laboratory using small amounts of distilled water (less than 1 ml), partly in "kitchen conditions" using the tap water (about 200 ml) and a commercial home refrigerator. The time of freezing dened by freezing of the entire body of water was measured using the inection points of cooling curves. Unlikely to the Mpemba eect (and likely to the usual expectations), usually the sample of cold water freezes sooner than the hot one. The Mpemba eect occured rarely, mostly when the cooler was covered by the layer of the snow and the hot vessel could melt through it to reach better thermal contact than the cold vessel. Other observed cases were mostly inconclusive.
