Effectiveness of the use of information technologies in the topic of waste and waste technologies in the lower secondary chemistry education
Vyskočil, Ondřej ; Bílek, Martin (advisor) ; Koperová, Dominika (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of the generation, processing and subsequent use of waste and the verification of the effectiveness of a set of activities on Waste and Waste Technology using information technologies in the teaching of chemistry in the 9th grade of primary school. The theoretical part provides a brief insight into waste and waste treatment, including the technologies used for this purpose. This issue is also examined in terms of its occurrence in the two levels of the state and school curriculum and in the most commonly used chemistry textbooks in primary school. The information technologies used are then based on an analysis of the newly introduced area of Computer Science. The practical part describes and evaluates the implementation of complex activities on the topic of Waste and Waste Technology in block teaching in the 9th grade of primary school using qualitative research in the form of a case study, and the results confirm that this topic can be implemented as designed, including the information technologies used. The main goal of this thesis is to analyse the experience of people who decided to live the Zero Waste lifestyle and find out the motivation of these people to live without waste. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the Zero Waste lifestyle, as it is presented in literature. It complements the practical part which is processed in the form of interviews with respondents who live the Zero Waste lifestyle. Consumerism and the environment - geographical and some other contexts
NEUMAN, Jiří
The thesis has a clear aim to outline the issue of consumerism and its inevitable development in contemporary modern society. There is an attempt to show its origins, practices and consequences. It also seeks to draw attention to the increased threat of ecological catastrophe associated with consumerism that could arise from the consequences of poor waste management in developing countries, particularly on the African continent. This region has been chosen as an ideal non-consumerist world. The United States of America, on the other side, is presented as a contrast to Africa as a typical country where consumerism is high, and its population is the world's biggest polluter in terms of waste production. The theoretical part relies on expert heuristics, which are supported by electronic resources in the form of various projects and analyses that have been previously carried out and now used to investigate the problem described.

Využití odpadů při výstavbě pozemních staveb
ŠIRMEROVÁ, Karolína
This thesis focuses on utilization of waste during buildings construction. The first part of the thesis encompasses a literature search that describes basic information about waste, such as types of waste and its origination. Further, it describes the EU Protocol regarding handling of construction and demolition was-te, waste utilization during construction, problematics of hazardous waste, and han-dling of waste in EU countries. For interest, included is also a description of houses built from waste materials, eg. Earthship. The second half focuses on practical aspects. It includes information about a selected section of highway D3, the process of construction of highway D3, and the proposal for utilization of recycled materials in highway components. Next, are calculations and information about availability of recycled materials.

Shared Economy in the 21st Century
LUKSCH, Matěj
This Bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of the interdependence of the sharing economy and circular economy in the capital city of Prague. The goal of the thesis is to identify problematic areas of circular economy in Prague and to find possibilities of waste reduction in these areas with the support of sharing economy. Material flow analysis showing resource flows across those areas is used to determine the materials used and the amount of waste produced. Based on the material flow analysis, significant impact areas are identified and as such have the greatest economic, social and environmental transformation potential. The main types of data sources include literature, studies, databases of the Czech Statistical Office and waste management information system. According to the results, the contribution and efficiency of the sharing economy for the circular economy in Prague is evaluated.

Hodnocení environmentálního zatížení vázaného na produkci odpadu
VANĚČEK, Miloslav
Waste management is becoming a social issue. Above all, it is about reducing landfill in the framework of changing legislation. The work focused on the analysis of environmental impacts of landfilled mixed municipal waste in a selected municipality using the LCA (Life Cycle Assement) method using the Ecoinvent database. The most significant impact of waste was in the impact categories of human toxicity and climate change. The individual components of the waste had different impacts within the impact categories. Plastic, fine fraction and textiles with other waste had a significant share in the impacts. In order to reduce environmental impacts, it would be appropriate to optimize the waste management and energy recovery system in the selected municipality.

Slow Life: Slow Living in the Fast Age
KRATOCHVÍL ŠMAJCLOVÁ, Kateřina
The basic topic of this Bachelor thesis is the introduction of the concept of so-called slow living. The main starting point of this lifestyle is the principle of sustainability and general consideration for other members of society, as well as for the environment and limited natural resources. The concept of Slow defines itself against the accelerating life, the hunger of consumer society, and the unnecessary accumulation of material things that are unnecessary for life. This concept tries to show that a people can be happy with little material things, even more so if their behavior does not contribute to the production of low-quality products, mishandling of the human workforce, and the production of other unnecessary waste. In addition to introduction with the motives for a slow life approach, in the next few chapters we will be focused mainly on the topic of food and clothing, but we will focus on them with a different perspective than we usually look at in these topics. We will be interested in their fast and many criticized variants, and then we will imagine their slower opposites. On many pages we will be dealing with a slow-lifer, which is a model supporter of this approach to life, thanks to which we will be able to imagine better specific situations that a fan of a slower life-style deals with every day. The price and quality of products, as well as the origin of their creation, will also be a big topic in this thesis, because the requirement of fair dealing and transparency of production is characteristic of the slow concept. So we will be accompanied by questions such as - Do I really need this thing? And if so, is it necessary to buy it, or can I get it differently? How much have I been influenced by an commercial that says chosen product meets my criteria and expectations, and is it really so? The following pages will help us answer all of this.
