Developing tradition or From exposition to interpretation: Methodology of guide services in historic interiors and exteriors

The methodology provides methodological support and inspiration for the presentation and interpretation of cultural heritage through guided guided tours. It takes into account both tradition and the current demands of visitors, approaches to the protection of cultural heritage and new trends in interpretation, including foreign ones. When applied in practice, the methodology also has an impact on the general public, which is represented by several million visitors to the monuments managed by the NPÚ every year.

The methodology is an effort to revitalize and innovate the guide service in the environment of historical monuments under the administration of the National Museum of Natural History. This publication is a follow-up to Part I of the methodology We are developing tradition or From interpretation to interpretation and its purpose is to provide ideas, inspiration and methodological procedures on how to supplement and transform established methods of presentation and interpretation of monuments, including forms that create a parallel or alternative to guided tours . It takes into account foreign experience and interdisciplinary insights.

Guide service quality assessment from the perspective of visually impaired users

The bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of guide service quality from the perspective of users with visual impairment. According to Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on Social Services, as amended, a social service is an activity or a complex of activities that provide assistance and support to people with the aim of integrating them into society or preventing their social exclusion. Matoušek (2003) states that these are short-term or long-term services that can only be used by people with a legitimate claim. The purpose of these services is to improve the quality of life of the user, but also to defend the interests and rights of all citizens of the society. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of two chapters. The first chapter contains the terminology and classification of people with visual impairment. There are also possibilities of compensation of visual impairment and at the end of the first chapter the specifics in the mobility of people with visual impairment here are defined. Loss of vision also means mobility restrictions and complications. Restrictions and complications are evident in the overall mobility capacity of each visually impaired individual, especially in the area of spatial orientation and independent motion. Therefore, the elements of spatial orientation and independent motion are described here. The practical part of the thesis contains the goal of the research and a research question. The data was collected through a qualitative survey. These methods were used - semi-structured interviews and document analysis. Observation of the participants was not realized due to an unwillingness to cooperate. Five communication partners voluntarily participated in the research. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the quality of guide services from the perspective of visually impaired users by qualitative research. In accordance with the defined objective, the following research question was formulated: what factors are essential for visually impaired people in order to perceive guide service as quality service? The following factors emerged from the qualitative analysis: professional competence (guide qualification, guide's attention, mutual respect, communication, empathy, fitness), availability of service at home, flexibility, affordability, security and trust. The bachelor thesis can be used as study material due to the narrow focus on ophthalmopaedia. Furthermore, as a basis for community planning.
Assessing of quality of social services provided by volunteers in TyfloCentrum Plzeň, o.p.s.

This Bachelor?s Thesis focuses on the problematic of work of volunteers in an organization which helps people with visual impairment. Theoretical part of this work provides concise history of volunteerism in the Czech Republic from past to present, classification of voluntary activities and simple characteristic of a volunteer. Next there is a description of work of the volunteers in TyfloCentrum Plzeň o.p.s. In my work I present a simple classification of visual defects and several selected rules for the contact with the visually impaired. Given the theme chosen, I find it suitable to mention the Standards of quality of social services, primarily standard number 15 ?Increasing of quality of social services?, and delimit two types of social services analyzed in this work in the framework of social services. Practical part of this work is dedicated to evaluation of social services provided by volunteers. The services in question are providing accompaniment service and social activation service. The evaluation of these services was made based on an interview with clients.
Analysis of demand for a city guide service

The target of the task will be the analysis of tourists` and visitors` demands for guide services. The research will be carried out in towns -- Jindřichův Hradec, Slavonice and in another chosen town by the method of personal oral interview. The result will be formed into the analysis of demanding and using guide services by tourists and the analysis could be used by the organizations, which offer these facilities.
