Citizens' attitude to the sorted waste
BABÍNKOVÁ, Klára
This Thesis is focused on problematics of waste sorting and its importance for the society. It analyzes waste management, legislative norms, motivation and ecological questions of waste sorting. Quantitative survey, that maps attitudes of respondents, is a part of this Thesis. The results shows increasing awareness of the public towards the importance. I suggest also the areas for improvement of the perception and responsibility regarding the waste sorting. Sorting the waste brings economical, ecological and social benefits and is crucial for sustainable growth.

Balanced approach in waste management
Přibyl, Zdeněk ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a balancing tool for the monitoring of selected waste streams, the related legislation, and the development of techno-economic models for waste treatment plants. In the research part of the thesis, the legislation setting the conditions of waste management is presented, the authorised packaging company EKO-KOM is introduced, including the remuneration calculator created. The practical part of the thesis describes the developed sub-tools and the balancing tool itself, which is the focus of the thesis. Subsequently, the waste stream is analysed and the waste treatment at the reference site is evaluated. Based on the processed data, the practical part leads to the development of techno-economic designs for the plastics processing plant and the energy transition.

Construction and demolition waste
Šmídová, Denisa ; Výskala, Miloslav (referee) ; Aigel, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the amount of construction and demolition waste on two-storey flat-roofed houses. It is based on legislation that comes into force this year. The data processing methodology proposes a procedure to determine the amount of demolition waste on a construction site. The breakdown of waste types is proposed according to the expected acceptance of this waste in recycling centres or landfills. The budget for the new construction of the building is used to analyse this quantity. The identified quantity of construction and demolition waste is related to the floor area and the built-up area of the building. The analysis of the amount of waste in the demolition of a building is complemented by a practical example, including a comparison of the current methodology.

Waste flows modelling and assessment of their treatment
Kolátor, Matyáš ; Smejkalová, Veronika (referee) ; Pluskal, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the description, analysis and reconstruction of waste evidence. Nowadays, more and more emphasis is put on the issue of waste management and its efficient use. Legislation has set demanding targets for increased waste recovery and the development of a circular economy. In order to achieve these objectives, it is necessary to plan and organize the structure of waste management strategically. Important decisions in the field of waste management are based on data and the production and processing of waste. The quality of waste data has a major impact on the success of the process. The aim of this thesis is to describe the system of record, but also the possibilities of improving and reconstructing invalid data. The core of the work is the testing and improvement of a data reconciliation tool REVEDATO developed at the Institute of Process Engineering. The computational tool is based on the mathematical apparatus of data balancing, for which the correct definition of the weights is crucial, which will be the main subject of the work.

Web application for waste containers placement planning
Vidlička, Adam ; Roupec, Jan (referee) ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is to create a web application that will serve as a tool for creation and management of municipal waste collection infrastructure. Computational functions developed at the Institute of Process Engineering will be utilized for more optimal creation of the waste collection infrastructure. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the zoom in on waste management in the Czech Republic, the motivation behind developing the web application, and the technologies used during its development. The practical part of the thesis describes the creation of the basic concept of the web application and provides subsequent descriptions of its individual components.

Modelling of the waste flow in the Czech Republic
Němcová, Lucie ; Procházka, Vít (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
Strategic planning is the basis for efficient and sustainable waste management. Data collection and its deep understanding are essential for effective planning. Waste flows are an important information to assess waste management to date. This information has so far been available only aggregated at national level in the Czech Republic. In this thesis, an approach has been developed to reconstruct the waste flows at a sub-national level from available data. The approach consists of two optimization models: partial and final. The partial model is based on expert assumptions. The reconstruction of the flows by the partial model is done sequentially in smaller groups of flows. The computation of the partial model is repeated with different composition of the groups of flows optimized at the same time. Each iteration results in a~candidate solution which is used as an input data for the final model. The solution of the final model yields the final reconstruction of the waste flows. Model development and testing was carried out on problems simulated based on the real data from the waste management of the Czech Republic.
