Legal aspects of waste management in the context of municipal development
Volkeová, Pavlína ; Fabšíková, Tereza (advisor) ; Sobotka, Michal (referee)
Legal aspects of waste management in the context of municipal development Abstract The thesis examines the various legal aspects of waste management, with a particular focus on the municipal level. The necessity to manage waste in an efficient manner has been evident since the advent of settled communities, and thus the perception of waste issues has evolved over time. Currently, waste management is extensively regulated by national legislation, which is also influenced by European regulations. The thesis primarily draws upon the fundamental law pertaining to this issue, namely Act No. 541/2020 on waste. The thesis is intended to reflect this legislation and the establishment of the waste management system in the Czech Republic, with a particular focus on the role of municipalities within the waste management framework. The thesis is structured in four parts, each addressing a distinct aspect. The first part of the thesis is entitled "Waste from the perspective of environmental law" and contains the fundamental legal framework and an introduction to the key concepts of the issue, which are essential for comprehending the entirety of the topic. The second part of the thesis is entitled "Environmental instruments related to waste" and contains three basic instruments - conceptual, administrative-legal and...
Convergence of waste management instruments in selected EU countries
Vaculík, Jan ; Ullrichová, Eliška (advisor) ; Váška, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of waste management, with a specific focus on instruments and their application in selected EU Member States. The thesis builds on the theory of policy convergence. The aim of the thesis was to analyse selected waste management instruments in specific EU Member States with the assumption of possible convergence. The research method of the thesis was a comparison of the application of the three instruments between the countries. These were the instruments of prohibition, taxation and pay-as-you-throw. The initial assumption for the research was that countries having similar performance on the three levels of the waste management hierarchy would converge on waste management tools. The research timeframe was from 2008, when the EU Waste Framework Directive was issued, defining targets for recycling rate levels by 2025, to 2022, when the EEA summary reports on the waste management of all EU Member States were issued. The research question that this paper addressed and sought to answer was whether the Member States with the best performance with respect to the EU waste hierarchy and targets introduced the same selected instruments to achieve these targets between 2008 and 2022. The resulting findings stated that there was no introduction of banning and taxing instruments...
Environmental Management of a Company Focusing on the Area of Waste Management
Štoudková, Julie ; Pavláková Dočekalová, Marie (referee) ; Kocmanová, Alena (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the area of waste management within the environmental management of the company. First of all, the thesis presents all the theoretical starting points related to the given issue. This is followed by an analytical part, in which analyzes related to the environmental management of the enterprise are carried out and information necessary for the evaluation of the current state of the selected enterprise within waste management is provided. At the end of the thesis, suggestions are given for improving waste management in the selected company, which will be determined based on the analyzes carried out in the previous part.
Development of a Web Application in Logistics
Zbranek, Matyáš ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to build on the development of a web application that serves as a tool for managing and creating municipal collection infrastructure. Specifically, the thesis deals with the acquisition of data from collection vehicles, its processing and statistical evaluation. Throughout the development process, the focus was primarily on user-friendly interface and clarity. The theoretical part presents the technologies used and the practical part is devoted to the actual development of the application, including a detailed description of selected parts.
Implementation of a Computational Module into the Web Application
Niedoba, Marek ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
This master's thesis focuses on the implementation of a computational module, developed at the Institute of Process Engineering at the Brno University of Technology, into the existing web application Popelka. This module will serve as a tool for evaluating the degree of municipal waste separation in basic territorial units in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part introduces the issue of waste management and other concepts important in the context of this thesis. It also describes the Popelka web application project, the course of its development, the technologies used, and its functionality. The practical part focuses on the specific implementation, appearance, and functionality of the new module.
Web application for waste containers placement planning
Vidlička, Adam ; Roupec, Jan (referee) ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is to create a web application that will serve as a tool for creation and management of municipal waste collection infrastructure. Computational functions developed at the Institute of Process Engineering will be utilized for more optimal creation of the waste collection infrastructure. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the zoom in on waste management in the Czech Republic, the motivation behind developing the web application, and the technologies used during its development. The practical part of the thesis describes the creation of the basic concept of the web application and provides subsequent descriptions of its individual components.
Reverse Logistics in the Selected Company
Staňková, Anežka ; Kuba,, Karel (referee) ; Milichovský, František (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with reverse logistics in a selected company. Based on the theoretical part I analyse the current state of reverse logistics activities within the company. In this thesis, I examine the logistics chains within the company, and continue to address the issue of waste management. The aim of this thesis is to propose corrective measures that optimize the amount of waste material and ensure a more efficient flow of reverse logistics activities.
Optimization of the Reverse Waste Logistics System in the Selected Enterprise
Davydova, Anna ; Valenta, Tomáš (referee) ; Milichovský, František (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the research of reverse logistics of waste in the banking company Raiffeisenbank a. s. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part covers theoretical background on the basis of which in the second part, the research is carried out using the analysis of the internal and external environment. The third part contains proposals for improving the waste recycling system at the Raiffeisenbank branch in Olympia and an evaluation of achieved results.
Optimization of network flows
Rychtář, Adam ; Hrabec, Dušan (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the assigment of waste flows to specific producer for each edge andaplication on real model which maps the Czech Republic and the model is applied to real data of the Czech Republic. The goal is to determine variance of the expenses for each producer subject to changes in waste processing requirements. Then, the solution impacts and bottlenecks are analysed. The suitable optmization models is formulated and computations are realizaed in GAMS.
