How to wank princesses
Schättingerová, Nataly ; Houdek, Vladimír (referee) ; Homola, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis, entitled How to annoy princesses, deals with some aspects of tourism, as it manifests itself in crowded historical monuments. The personal experience of tour guide at Kost Castle offers me a perspective on the issue, with which I emphasize the common interest of the "mouflons" (i.e. castle visitors) for spectacle and sensations (fables, myths, Czech fairy tales, ghosts), which often wins over the interest in history itself. I capture the atmosphere of commercialized monuments in a grotesque way that is close to me. The goal of the work is to set a mirror to the public and ideally to stir up a debate about the decline of visitors' interest in the professional aspects of guiding or the state of the monuments themselves. The series of figurative medium-format oil paintings, supplemented by audio processing untrue facts, untrue stories and myths, indirectly follows on the book The Last Aristocrat written by Evžen Boček , which deals with a similar theme.

Malínková, Valerie ; Muroň, Ivo (referee) ; Ležatka, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the restoration of a castle in Velké Němčice. The thesis builds on an architectural study carried out in the AG033 course of the Restoration of Monuments Studio. The task of the thesis is to create a complete project for the appropriate restoration and reconstruction of the castle and to propose its new utilization. At the same time, the thesis focuses on the solution of the castle's immediate surroundings. The object of the solution will be designed as a socially cultural object with administrative functions. The castle should serve as a new town hall, and in accordance with this, the following rooms will be created in the castle: a ceremonial hall, information center, mayor's office, secretary's office, registry office, accountant's office, archive, library, club room, refreshment facility, and interactive room. To achieve the implementation of the new operation in the castle, the correct restoration of the historical object is necessary. Using surveys and historical sources, I examine the architectural values and construction of the building. I strive to preserve historically significant layers, remove intrusive modern elements, and return the object its original expression. With the help of new technologies, I also strive to preserve the building for future generations. I propose minimum use of modern structures and elements, and therefore mainly focus on proper reconstruction and restoration.
Restoration of the renaissance castle complex in Slatina u Jevišovic
Pavlovský, Tomáš
The area of the Renaissance chateau in Slatina u Jevišovic has been declared an immovable cultural monument since the 1950s. However, the whole area was used until the end of the 1980s by the JZD Vítězný únor for various purposes, from cattle housing, slaughterhouses, granary to the boiling house and dining room of the JZD Běhařovice. One wing of the castle is used as the town hall of the municipality of Slatina and is also owned by the municipality. Since 1990 the building has been abandoned outside the town hall. For ten years, the whole area was dilapidated and threatened with demolition due to the damaged statics of the main building. The Renaissance wing of the chateau was sold into private hands and in 2000 the restoration of the entire chateau complex, except for the municipal part, began. All the works were consulted with the Znojmo department of monument protection, under which the whole castle area falls. In the first stage, a supporting stone pillar was structurally secured, which, instead of supporting the building, threatened it from the north side. This was followed by the repair of the historic roof and the roof as a whole. . The construction and restoration work in the whole area was and still is carried out gradually according to the set goals. No artefacts have so far been found during the restoration which would help to understand more about life on this estate at its peak, in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The castle in Komařice - its contruction changes and the culture-historical value
Komařice Castle - its architectural changes and cultural and historical significance The Renaissance Chateau of Komařice is a building of high quality and demanding stonework, which has largely preserved its original Renaissance appearance to this day. It was built by Jiřík Kořenský from Terešov together with his wife Kristýna Dráchovská from Dráchov around 1565. The bachelor thesis deals with the construction history of the building, in its first part, gradually introducing the Komařice owners in each periods. In the subsequent description of the building, it captures and analyzes the individual important elements of the castle in detail. It does not omit other buildings that originally belonged to the castle, especially the granary, former brewery and other farm buildings in the castle complex. The following part of the work presents the reconstruction of the regional significance of Komařice castle in the early modern period. It also points out the importance of the building in comparison with other Renaissance buildings in Bohemia, which, like here, probably used the treatises on architecture by Sebastian Serlio. The work draws attention to the serious loses that the building suffered after the change of the owners during the land reforms in the 1920 s. The last part of the work summarizes the monumental values of the castle and outlines the future fate of the building.

The subject of this diploma thesis is a knight's hall in the Písek castle. At the beginning of the work, I will present the building history of the castle, its description and the location of the knight's hall within the castle complex. The main goal of the work will be the analysis of the painterly decoration of the knight's hall, the identification of individual scenes and figures. Attention will be paid to iconographic circles consisting of religious, secular and heraldic themes. The next chapter will present the issue of restoration and use of 3D technologies for the presentation of the Knight's Hall of Písek Castle. A separate chapter will be devoted to the issue of two demolished rooms. The castle chapel and the royal room, which was supposedly connected to the knight's hall. Based on parallels from other objects, I will try to determine in which part of the castle they could be located, what they looked like and what they could have a purpose for.
The thesis recapitulates leisure-time activities on selected historic sites administered by the National Heritage Institute, Regional Historic Sites Management in České Budějovice. It describes the life in three different types of historic residences - Švihov Castle, Kladruby Monastery and Manětín Mansion, concisely summing up their history. Suggestions concerning the particular general plans for spending leisure time on the mentioned sites are contained in a separate chapter.
