Measuring probe tips in engineering metrology

This diploma thesis deals with measuring touches problems in industrial metrology. Thesis describes adhesive wear and tear which is caused by measuring probes when dynamical measuring is being concluded. Measuring of damaged component made of silumin and its different changes of texture by different measuring probes are evaluated. Measuring touches are made of titanium nitride, silicon nitride, zirconium, bearing chrome steel, ruby, experimental composite material and nanocrystalline diamond.
The study of metallocene anticancer therapeutics-cells interaction

There were almost 600 thousand patients in Czech Republic until 2017 and the number keeps rising. Chemotherapeutics used today have lots of undesirable side effects, so scientists around the world are trying hard to find more specific and less cytotoxic drugs. In this bachelor’s thesis, potential drugs based on metallocene with a central atom of Ru, Hf or Zr were studied, always in three different drugs for each element. The permeability and distribution of these drugs into lung cancer cell lines were investigated. These drugs were detected by analysis of solutions and laser ablation with an ICP mass spectrometer. Based on the experiment, the greatest potential was found for the ruthenium-based drug 133, which had the highest permeability and was able to get into the cells in the highest volume.

This bachelor thesis aims to characterize the currently used nuclear fuels and their materials, describe a fuel cycle from the mining, processing and enrichment, to possibe management of used fuel, neatly summarize useing nuclear reactors with their basic specifications and outline the possible trends of development of nuclear fuels.
Indirect spectrophotometric determination of fluoride on the base of zirconium complexes

The objective of this study was the calculation and optimalization methods of the indirect spectrophotometric determination of fluoride based on the zirconium complex. Three organic reagent eriochromcyanin R chromazurl S and xylenol orange were tested. As the most sensitive system was shown the complex of zirconium with xylenol orange. Linear standard curve was ranged from 1,5.10-6 to 7,5.10-5 mol.dm-3. H2PO4-, Fe3+ and the highest concentrations of Fe2+, SO42- were tested for interferent. The Fe2+ and SO4- interfere only above the concentration which cannot be found in natural water. The optimized method was applied for the determination of fluoride in the model and real drinking, mineral and surface water.
Surface treatment of aluminum alloys

The thesis is focused on the surface treatment used for the preparation of aluminium alloys for the adhesive bonding. The theoretical part can be divided into three chapters. The first of them deals with aluminium alloys, the second one speaks about the adhesive bonding. The surface treatment itself, especially the conversion coating issues, is discussed in the last chapter. The experimental part is focused on the optimalization of a two-step titanium and zirconium based conversion coating technology. In the first part, the aluminium alloy is analysed by the glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy. The second part of the experiment deals with the first step of the technology, acidic deoxidation. The objective was to examine the influence of the exposure time on the morphology of the alloy surface and the shear strength of adhesive joints. In the last part of the experiment, the conversion coatings are prepared and characterised by the scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy.
Zirconium ternary complexes with fluoride anions

Modern medicine uses non-invasive imaging methods for diagnostic purposes. Positron emission tomography is one of them. During the examination, the patient is injected with a radiopharmaceutical that is accumulated in tissue abnormalities and emits detectable radiation during its nuclear decay. The world's most commonly used radionuclide for these purposes is the radioisotope 18 F. The biodistribution of the fluoride ion itself is not very specific, so the radioisotope is usually bound to the structure of bioactive molecules. The actual preparation of these molecules is very challenging, so new labeling methods are currently being sought. One of the new possibilities is the preparation of labeled ternary complexes. In this work, the preparation of two polyazamacrocyclic ligands, H3NOTA and H3PCTA, which have acetate arms attached to their skeleton via aliphatic nitrogen atoms, is described. Zirconium complexes were prepared with these ligands. Subsequently, coordination and dissociation studies of fluoride ions to the prepared complexes were carried out. Trivalent and tetravalent metal complexes for radiodiagnostics

Fluorine-18 is the most utilized nucleus for positron emission tomography (PET). In 2009, incorporation of fluorine-18 to the coordination sphere of Al(III) was introduced as a new alternative for commonly employed compounds with F-C bond. Such a radiotracer consists of two parts: a metal complex with a fluoride and a peptide or a small/part of biomolecule. Shortly after that, first clinical studies showed a promising potential of such com- pounds for clinical use. Despite a great number of papers dealing with this issue, the research is mostly application-driven and focused on the peptide part of the molecule responsible for specific accumulation within the organism. Studies oriented on a sta- bility of metal-ligand-fluorine ternary system are rather rare and only very little is known about such a three-component system from a chemical point of view in gen- eral. However, stability of F-Al bond strongly dependents on the chemical structure of other ligands in the coordination sphere. Pendant arms of a hexadentate ligand (usually used for Al(III) complexation, e.g., H3NOTA) can compete with fluoride and cause its release which leads to unspecific radioactivity accumulation. Activation of ferrocene ligands by sandwich complexes of Group 4 metals

This bachelor thesis deals with synthesis, reactivity and characterization of compounds resulting from the reactions of substituted ferrocene ligands with electron- deficient complexes of group 4 transition metals in oxidation state II with the aim of finding experimental conditions for preparation of complexes containing two metal atoms in one molecule. Reactions were performed under inert atmosphere and the products were crystallized. The obtained crystals were subjected to X-ray diffraction analysis and to NMR spectroscopy in order to elucidate molecular structure of the isolated products. Along the way, instability of the prepared compounds towards air oxygen and moisture has surfaced, though it also led to a discovery of several original compounds. Among these, the molecule containing peroxide ligand bonded to zirconocene fragment is worth noting as a fine example of oxygen molecule activation with low oxidative state complexes of transition metals.
