Analysis of Czech doctors migration focused on region of Liberec
Němeček, Petr ; Gráf, Václav (advisor) ; Ježek, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis introduces the problematic of Czech doctor's migration. Principal asset of the study is to determine the potential migration of doctors in the region of Liberec by using both theoretical and empirical tools. The aim of the work is to analyze whether a fear of future shortages of medical personnel in the Czech Republic is justified. The target will be achieved by using a questionnaire survey across all areas of specialization in this particular segment of the economy. Since the Czech Republic entered into the European Union, the number of Czech doctors, who leave the country and search for better working conditions in other member states, has been increasing dramatically year after year. The alarming thing is that the fastest growth of doctor's migration has been recorded among recent graduates of medical faculties. Results of survey show us the level of Czech doctors from selected region considering working abroad.

Kratěnová, Adéla ; Poláková, Olga (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
The Health Care System in Czech Republic is really an important issue that is discussed by many experts but the point of view is not shared among most of them. It is a very complex system and for good analysis there is a nedd for right empirical data. But also, for good knowledge and to get to know the system better the theoretical description is needed. Most discussed themes as quality and efficiency are also mentioned and described. The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the efficiency and to find possible solution concernig the improvement of the financial situation in the system. This problem is covered within the whole thesis and is summarised in the conclusion.
A Systems Approach to Health Care Financing
Jankůj, Miroslav ; Střítecký, Rudolf (advisor) ; Kandilaki, Daniela (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the Czech healthcare system. Healthcare is generally reffered to as system but not always healthcare problems are solved systematically. Therefore systems theory, theory of complex adaptive systems and other notions, that are often used in healthcare, were described in this thesis. The objective of this thesis was analysis of impacts of patient's financial participation (20 %, 25 % and 30 %) on health care to their financial situation in the complex adaptive healthcare system. In this thesis four indicators were used -- poverty line, household subsistence spending, impoverished households, catastrophic health expenditure. The World Health Organization defined this indicators for World Health Survey in different countries. The indicators were applied to a sample of Czech households and some impacts of increased participation were calculated. It results from this calculation that the increased participation of households has virtually only small impacts to their financial situation. By the indicators of poverty just few households would be on the poverty line. Nevertheless, this results aren't generalized to the whole Czech population. With this indicators we should further work and develop them in order that they could serve as tool to evaluation of state's intervetion into healthcare system.
Analysis of corruption in health
Dupalová, Veronika ; Běláčková, Vendula (advisor) ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (referee)
This BA thesis deals with influence of corruption on number of competitors in relation to detection of final price of public order in medical service. The academic part defines concept of the word "corruption", its legal framework, kinds of corruption, possibilities of corruption measurement, control system of public competition etc. The second part of the thesis is an analysis of public order efficiency with the aid of regressive model. For the intention of the BA thesis, 223 public orders executed in the Czech republic during 2006-2009 period were choosen in random way with use of variable quantities - entering price, final price, number of offerors etc. The thesis attemps to confirm presumption of relation between explicite competition ( number of submited offers) and final price. The anticipated outcome lies in the fact that the number of submitted offers fundamentally influences the final price of the public order in the Czech republic. Presumably it's the consequence of uneconomical and non-transparent legal regulation of public medical service which supports mismanagement dealing.
The health care - public or private goods
Havlíčková, Anna ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Durdisová, Jaroslava (referee)
The main of objective of this diploma thesis is to define health care as economic goods based on the theoretical definitions. The fact whether health care should be considered as private goods or public goods plays a vital role in this debate. The initial hypothesis presupposes that health care is (based on the basic economic criteria) private goods; however there is objective evidence demonstrating that health care should be understood in terms of public goods. The author defines the necessary terminology and theoretical concepts. According to several expert concepts the author concludes that based on the basic economic definitions health care could be understood as private goods, admitting that in the real world objective limitations exist, which prevent keeping health care exclusively in the economic sphere. The thesis also evaluates the role of individual health care sectors, including their drawbacks. The author demonstrates all concepts on the Czech health care system. In the analytic part of the thesis the author demonstrates discrepancies between theoretical concepts and practice on specific models, including the risks of exclusively private financing of health care. For this purpose three income groups has been defined. The author compares expenditures of these groups on selected medical services with different levels of their savings. The thesis also deals with methods of economical analysis and its limitations in health care system analysis.
Veterinary Health Care
Knězová, Jana ; Lipka, David (advisor) ; Křížek, Josef (referee)
The increasing costs of health care is becoming one of the main problems of Czech health care. The state has become a constant tendency to enter the health system as a result and its interventions (regulations) influence the behavior of its actors. The regulation is in the eyes of the state solution that can cope with so-called market failures, but the result is damage to the entire health care system. Therefore health care could inspire in animal health care, where almost no government regulation (except law) and the system is based on market behavior.

The System of health service funding of Czech republic and Germany
URBANOVÁ, Radka
The main aim of this bacholor work is to compare the system of health care financing in Czech Repulic and Germany. Both countries try to find a system of financing that would provide primary health care for everybody on one hand and would not increase tax expenses for it on the other hand. It is not an easy task to find such a method of financing therefore the system is evolving constantly. Both of countries are members of the European Union and the financing of of their health care systems is based on the Bismarck model of financing from the public health insurance. The public health insurance covers more than 50% of the health care expenses in both of countries. These countries have got other source of health care financing as well. The expenses relative to GDP in % and the expenses per citizen are different in these countries. We can say that each state has its own original system of health care financing. The system itself will be set up in each country as a choice of the citizens. The system is good if it satisfies the requirements of citizens. All of the above information was drawn mainly from books, appropriate Czech laws, Fifth German Social Code Book, a web portal of Czech Statistical Office and a web portal of Institute for Health Information and Statistics in Czech Republic. Additional sources were Internet resources, that provide information about system of health service financing in Czech republic and in Germany. There are suggestions how to provide more justice for the patients in Czech republic at the end of this work. There are also proposed measures for extra funding needed by the Czech health care at the end of my bachelor work. These two sections are problematic in the Czech health care and it is necessary to solve them as soon as possible.
