Secondary raw materials production from municipal waste
Kouřil, Čeněk ; Gregor, Jiří (referee) ; Kropáč, Jiří (advisor)
The main purpose of the bachelor thesis is to give an overview of the current system of municipal waste management and to demonstrate its techno-economical demands. To solve these objectives, an analysis of the current state in Czech Republic was carried out and a calculation tool was created to evaluate the overall techno-economical balance of the management system at the regional level. The results of the tool showed that it is expensive for municipalities to carry out waste management activities and would not be feasible without complex subsidies. The reader gets a basic overview of the current waste management system in Czech Republic and acquires knowledge of its partial techno-economical costs.
Analysis of the location of collection points and containers for municipal waste
Silný, Marek ; Pluskal, Jaroslav (referee) ; Nevrlý, Vlastimír (advisor)
In waste management, it is crucial to design the collection network appropriately. This paper was aimed at identifying the main factors that influence the motivation of citizens to sort waste and, based on these factors, to design an optimized collection network for the recoverable components of municipal waste. A detailed research was carried out to describe the current legislation in the Czech Republic in the field of waste management, to explain the waste sorting and collection system and to find factors that could influence the motivation to sort based on previous studies. Based on this research, a questionnaire was then designed to assign importance to these factors and two networks were subsequently designed using different distance measurement methods. The paper found that sufficient capacity of a collection point was a more important aspect than the walking distance to that point. For the design of a collection network, it is not appropriate to consider the distance between collection points as the distance by air, but rather the distance by infrastructure.
Odpadové hospodářství v obci Čebín
Brychtová, Iva
This diploma thesis deal with the issue of waste management in the municipality of Čebín. The introductory part is dedicated to a literature search in the field of waste management. The aim of the thesis is to comprehensively describe the waste management system in the selected municipality before and after the introduction of the new waste management system. This system is supposed to achieve a better sorting of waste from the total amount of municipal waste, which is currently very low at 14 %. On the basis of own observation since the introduction of the new system for 1 year to evaluate the shortcomings and advantages of the new system, to compare the sorting of the municipality over the last 10 years, to prepare a SWOT analysis on the waste management system and this analysis to proceceed after that on the base of the result evaluate the data from the citizens of the selected municipality by questionnaire survey. The data obtained will also be used to develop a proposal and recommendations for new measures in the waste management of the municipality of Čebín. By the newly introduced system was found to increase the sorting rate of the municipality. However, the municipality's costs for waste management are higher and the municipality will probably have to increase the local charge for the waste management system in the future. This unpopular step can caused to dissatisfaction among citizens and their motivation to sort waste is likely to become less and less.
Citizens' attitude to the sorted waste
BABÍNKOVÁ, Klára
This Thesis is focused on problematics of waste sorting and its importance for the society. It analyzes waste management, legislative norms, motivation and ecological questions of waste sorting. Quantitative survey, that maps attitudes of respondents, is a part of this Thesis. The results shows increasing awareness of the public towards the importance. I suggest also the areas for improvement of the perception and responsibility regarding the waste sorting. Sorting the waste brings economical, ecological and social benefits and is crucial for sustainable growth.
Balanced approach in waste management
Přibyl, Zdeněk ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a balancing tool for the monitoring of selected waste streams, the related legislation, and the development of techno-economic models for waste treatment plants. In the research part of the thesis, the legislation setting the conditions of waste management is presented, the authorised packaging company EKO-KOM is introduced, including the remuneration calculator created. The practical part of the thesis describes the developed sub-tools and the balancing tool itself, which is the focus of the thesis. Subsequently, the waste stream is analysed and the waste treatment at the reference site is evaluated. Based on the processed data, the practical part leads to the development of techno-economic designs for the plastics processing plant and the energy transition.
Reverse Logistics in the Selected Company
Hrobařová, Pavla ; Kuba,, Karel (referee) ; Milichovský, František (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with reverse logistics in a selected company whose main activity is providing services in the field of waste management. On the basis of theoretical knowledge, it analyses and researches the company's activities and elements of forward logistics, and focuses on waste management and reverse logistics activities. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to propose a solution leading to the optimization of municipal waste collection in reverse logistics.
Knowledge of children in nurseries about recycling of waste
JIRÁKOVÁ, Vladimíra
The bachelor thesis is focused on finding out children 's knowledge in the field of waste sorting. The main goal of this work is to compare the awareness of children from the village and city kindergarten about the existence of recyclable materials, containers for sorted waste and the possibility of their further use. The theoretical part consists of a search of selected literature and specifications of individual terms related to the issue of environmental education. It also describes the specifications of a preschool child. The next chapter is devoted to the types of waste and their subsequent processing. The practical part consists of qualitative research in the form of a controlled in-depth interview with the head teachers of selected classes in each of the two types of kindergartens. Last but not least, a weekly plan on this topic is proposed. At the end of this part, the activity was carried out directly in kindergartens with children led by a student. The activity consists in sorting the brought clean waste into boxes marked with the appropriate color.
Boundaries of waste: Etnography of collection yard
Vykoukalová, Anna ; Kuřík, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Abu Ghosh, Yasar (referee)
This diploma thesis examines the relationship between waste and people in the collection yard. The collection yard is used for the separate disposal of such waste, which due to its size or material cannot be stored in conventional bins. Because our society is focused on consumption and consumption, a lot of things are thrown away, but other people find them interesting or useful, so they take them out. However, nothing should be taken away from the collection yard, as the waste is not homeless, but is defined by property rights. At the same time, the main principle of waste management - the waste hierarchy states that before a thing becomes waste, it should be used differently. I therefore deal with how this concept of waste conditions the movement of things in the collection yard, how and by whom the removed waste can be used and what role the removal of waste plays in fulfilling the waste hierarchy. I decided to examine all this using anthropological methods, namely participatory observation at the collection yard and interviews with individual actors. Research has shown that things that could still serve someone are being thrown away unnecessarily at the collection yard. People decide to take them "on their own" with the unofficial cooperation of local employees. The removed waste is then used...
Meaning of the term eco-frinendly behaviour to Generation Z
Beranová, Eliška ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Shavit, Anna (referee)
The topic of ecology and eco-friendly behaviour is very current and often debated, as it is an issue that concerns us all and our future. The main objective of this paper is to find out what does Generation Z perceive as eco-friendly behaviour, both in the context of the behaviour of the respondents themselves and in terms of their interpretation and perception of corporate behaviour. The thesis comprises a theoretical section dealing with green marketing, green behaviour and related theoretical concepts, and a practical section that includes the research itself. The research was conducted using a qualitative method in the form of semi-structured interviews, which were then analysed using thematic analysis and open coding. The analysis of the conducted interviews shows that Generation Z mainly interprets the concept of eco-friendly behaviour as reducing their personal footprint, being led by waste sorting. In the context of companies, eco-friendly behaviour according to Generation Z then includes eco-friendly products and their packaging. However, it is also important for it not to be only a pose, ecology should actually be at the core of the company's business and its main philosophy.
