LEGAL REGULATIONS OF UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS IN CZECH REPUBLIC AND IN SELECTED COUNTRIES This graduation thesis describes and analyzes legal regulations of unemployment benefits in Czech Republic and in Sweden. Main reason why I have chosen that topic could be seen in the fact that in both countries exist two different systems. In Czech Republic we have compulsory state system of unemployment benefits but Sweden is one of four European countries where we can find so-called Ghent system. Sweden is also known as typical example of welfare state, so I came to conclusion it could be interesting to focus attention also to this matter and its influence to the topic. The aim of the thesis is to compare both systems, individual institutes of this problematic, focus on main differences and also point out common rules and principles. The thesis involves an introduction, main part and conclusion. The main part is divided into seven chapters. The first one presents explanation of unemployment, its different types and consequences. Following two chapters concern development of legal regulations of this problematic both in Czech Republic (also in Czechoslovakia) and in Sweden. Because some of the mentioned acts are very extensive, I focused only on legal rules concerning the unemployment benefits. The main part of...

Weinberg, Tomáš ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Strejček, Ivo (referee)
Bachelor thesis examines the influence of social reform on the social insurance system in connection with unemployment compensation in Czech Republic between the years 2011 and 2017. The partial aim of this thesis is the presentation of my own design of unemployment insurance system together with its impacts on the national economy. The thesis uses the method of analysis to determine the effectiveness of state labour market policy, pension system and individual unemployment insurance. According to the results social reform has been only half successful because it brings effectiveness only to the active labour market policy and not to the passive labour market policy. Following this analyses the thesis detects the inefficiency in the unemployment compensation system, growing deficit of state labour market policy and in connection with demographic analysis the unsustainability of pension system. Because of these reasons the individual unemployment insurance model is introduced, which aims to increase merit of unemployment compensation, minimalize unemployment and ensure decent pensions for future generations.
Endogenous Growth Model, Distance to Frontier, and Labour Market Institutions
Šoltés, Michal ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Kopečná, Vědunka (referee)
This thesis studies the effect of generosity of unemployment insurance on economic growth. More generous unemployment insurance is argued to cause an increase in unemployment on the one hand and better job match quality on the other. Our model shows that in the developed countries, there may be some level of unemployment insurance which ensures that the productivity gain offsets the loss due to higher unemployment. On the contrary, in the developing countries, any level of unemployment insurance was revealed to harm economic growth. Moreover, we present strong evidence in favour of a positive effect of unemployment insurance on the aggregate productivity growth. Key words: Unemployment Insurance, Distance to Frontier, Endogenous Growth Model, Technology Growth, Economic Growth
