Open data gathering and how to use it in cybersecurity
Gašparová, Marta ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Paučo, Daniel (advisor)
This thesis deals with Data Gathering from Open Sources which can be used in Cyber Security; an analysis of the OSINT tools; a creation of a Data Gathering Tool itself. The theoretical part of the thesis explores Data Gathering within the framework of Ethical Hacking and in which phase of Penetration Testing the Data Extraction is crucial. Following the analysis of the OSINT tools the Practical part of the thesis examines the Created Tool itself which was written in Python programming language. Via API interface the Tool allows interaction with other OSINT tools such as Censys, crt.sh or DNSDumpster. After entering the IP address or domain of the target company the Tool is able to search for basic information such as location, DNS names and running services. Based on the target URL the Tool is able to show both present and absent HTTP security headers on the given website and also based on the entered domain it can search for SSL/TLS certificates, subdomains and emails of the target company.
Evaluating the performance of mobile networks based on long-term measurements
Rehák, Ondrej ; Miloš, Jiří (referee) ; Slanina, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to choose the proper measurement system for evaluating the performance of the LTE mobile networks based on long-term measurements. The thesis describes mobile network LTE, its architecture and introducts the Quality of Service in the LTE. In the next part are studied the known measurement methods and furthermore, there is proposed a solution in the form of long-term measurement. This measurement uses the mobile phone application Open-RMBT, which stores the measurement results into the database on the chosen server. The following part focuses on the issue of choosing a suitable mobile device for the measurement, then it describes a pilot testing and the followed run of the long-term measurements. In the last part is introduced the interractive application to plot graphs. Measurement results are discussed in the conclusion.

Estimating mobile coverage by means of regression
Walach, Dominik ; Raida, Václav (referee) ; Blumenstein, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the use of freely available data sets to estimate the signal strength in localities where measurements are missing. This work aimed to use interpolation and regression methods to estimate as accurately as possible the possible signal coverage in a given locality. First, data sets were analyzed, based on results, a test model for various methods has been created. The methods with the best results have been implemented on real data sets containing thousands of measurements. At the end of the work, accurate estimates are commented and circumstances to reduce the deviation of the measured and calculated values are specified.
Data Analysis and Visualization of the Brno City Council
Zaklová, Kristýna ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Hynek, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to analyze the data from the Brno City Council voting and propose their visualization, i.e. an understandable presentation of the obtained information and statistics about the representatives' decisions. The system was designed to be applicable to other councils, and thus, it includes an input model for voting data. The developed solution is a web application with a client-server architecture, and it was implemented using the Flask framework and the React library. The correctness of the created dataset was verified against the minutes of council meetings. The application itself was tested with a selected sample of users and in real operation. The main benefits of this work include providing more transparent information about the activities of Brno city councillors, creating an analytical tool for Brno citizens, and offering the potential to extend the solution to other municipalities.
Otevřená data v oblasti vědeckého výzkumu
DOKTOR, Ondřej
This thesis focuses on the topic of open data in academic and research sectors and the openness, sustainability, and reusability of data which are being processed in diverse scientific communities. Since this topic is very broad, the thesis narrows its focus down to the author's home institution, the Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic, and its data sources in respect to the FAIR data principles. The main questions being discussed are: Is it possible to convert the current data foundation of research groups of the Faculty of Science of the University of South Bohemia into a FAIR form and how demanding would this transformation be? What data foundations now exist at the institution and in what form? What needs to be done to consider these data foundations as FAIR? What prevents the transformation of these data foundations into FAIR form? How is it possible to carry out this transformation in practice?
Citizen Mapping as a City-Making Practice
Koncar-Gamulin, Lovro
This paper hypothesises that gaps in knowledge and understanding of our urban spatial processes have been facilitated by a stark emphasis on measurable and simulated data, as well as by the absence of non-measurable subjective experiences in contemporary data collection methods. Therefore, the paper discusses an inclusive way of contributing to city-making in which citizens create as well as add value to, and extract value through their collective efforts. The research aims to deepen engagement between citizens and urban design by discussing an app-based participatory tool through which citizens can identify, record and reflect upon different space-making parameters in their immediate surroundings. This tool provides a novel vocabulary to challenge the exclusionary practices of contemporary data collection, and brings out the strengths of citizen participation within urban design.
