Název bakalářské práce v anglickém jazyce: The Tiled stoves from the nineteenth century at the Prague Castle and aristocratic settlements in Bohemia Abstract The aim of this essay is to detail a masonry stove in neo-gothic style from 19th century at the Prague Castle and aristocratic settlements in Bohemia. I also concern myself with interiors and history of stove-fitting in Czech Republic. All the rooms with the stoves used to be luxurious, comfortable, nice and warm. The main topic of my bachelor thesis is history of stoves in the Prague Castle. I describe the interesting part of Prague Castle including Old Royal Palace with its Vladislav Hall and the House of Lords with a big neo- gothic tiled stove, the only one here. The stove was created between years 1808-1836 at the time of the rule of the king Francis II. (ruling from 1792 to 1835) and the last Czech crowned Emperor Ferdinand V. Dobrotivý (ruling from 1830 to 1848). I describe some of the most important moments of The Story about neo-gothic stoves from the old part of the Prague Castle as well as from another places in our country. In the next parts, I...
Contributions to the architectonical design and interior fitting of the houses in the early modern villages and liege towns in Bohemia
Kypta, Jan ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Smetánka, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vařeka, Pavel (referee)
The work consists of four chapters dedicated to selected aspects of research in architecture and interior fittings of houses of late medieval and early modern villages and small towns in the 2nd mid-15th in the 16th century. The first chapter deals with the occurrence of late Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements in the estates. It is conceived as a set of model clauses coherent analysis of material and written sources. In the end, there are social groups defined by the acquirers. The second chapter presents a balance of knowledge about the application of late Gothic and Renaissance tiles in the environment of farms and rural parishes. At the forefront are questions about the chronology of this phenomenon, the possibility of reconstruction of heating equipment, the confrontation with the results of research remaining buildings and comparison with a higher social milieu (manor houses). The third chapter presents the results of two-conceived interdisciplinary studies on collective findings of unusual types of tiles in a rural context. The aim of the analysis of written and material sources is an attempt to answer the question whether the tiled stove conveys the social status of the customer. The fourth chapter in the example of mass set of tiles from a small town (Sedlcany) shows the possibilities and...
Significant tile stoves in Bohemia in the beginning of early modern period
Fleková, Kateřina ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Schöttner, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with Renaissance tile stoves in the Czech lands, focusing on the important examples from the period of 16th and 17th century. Starting with an overview of the pertinent literature in the Czech and Central European context, the thesis proceeds to outline the historical development of stove building and tile manufacturing. The main part then deals with several key examples of the extant Bohemian tile stoves. I have attempted to arrange them in the chronological order, based on the evidence of their construction, reconstruction, transfers and restoration. In some cases it was possible to trace the origin of the tiles in the specific local workshops. In some cases a comparison with analogical stoves or tiles is given, both in the Czech lands and in Europe. The thesis also includes an analysis of the temporal iconographic motives which can contribute to a more precise dating of tile stoves.

Kalousková, Jana ; Sojka, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Šmied, Miroslav (referee)
Rococo and second-rococo tiled stove at the representative rooms of New Palace of Prague Castle. The aim is a comprehensive approach of tiled stove forming an integral part of the equipment of the Prague Castle, originating mainly from the period of Marie Terezie and Ferdinand V. Dobrotivý. Next to the Rococo stove from mid-18th century, the work also deals with the stove from the mid-19th century, made in style called second Rococo. They are at first sight finer made at the wasteful momentum of eclectic vocabulary. In particular, logically consecutive chapters, the work will take a detailed look at each of the tile body, its issues and possible continuity to the other stoves in the Habsburg residences but also in the royal residences in the Czech Republic. Chapters will be sorted by position of the stove in specific rooms that are, with some exceptions, found in the south wing of Prague Castle, normally inaccessible to visitors. Most stoves built of glazed tiles white glaze with gold, at different heights executed carvings. Most stoves are constructed of tiles cast in white glaze with gilded, at different heights executed reliefs. Prevail, for that time typical, motives of rockery, volute richly undulating elements or hung festoons and garlands. Work becomes all the more necessary, how much less...
