Assessment in Biology Education in Ceske Budejovice and Surroundings
LIŠKOVÁ, Jana
VOMÁČKOVÁ J. 2015: Assessment in Biology Education in Ceske Budejovice and surroundings. Bachelor thesis. Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice. 39 pp. Assessment is the key part to all educational and pedagogic activities. Based on this, assessment is nowadays often discussed not only in the academic sphere but also by teachers doing the practical job. This is especially viewed from the point of the effectiveness and adequacy of individual assessment methods in concrete subjects taught. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to monitor assessment methods currently used in Biology lessons. This has been done through questionnaires used with grammar school students and elementary school students attending the second level study in the Ceske Budejovice region. The results show assumptive assessment methods prevail with teachers mainly focusing on the students knowing definitions, facts and formulae. New activating methods are being introduced in Biology lessons, which makes the assessment of students' performance more difficult. Formative assessment might be the answer to this. In the part of the questionnaire where the students´ personal experience, preferences and opinions have been monitored, it has been found out students themselves consider this type of assessment more motivating and beneficial then the assumptive one.
The methodology of woody species evaluation for the needs of monument preservation
Pejchal, Miloš ; Šimek, Pavel
The purpose of the methodology is to evaluate the current status and potential of woody species in the monuments of garden and landscape architecture. The methodology is based on visual assessment and is modular in nature and consists of the basic module and expansion (special) module. The basic module can be applied in all objects of garden and landscape architecture and consists of the following groups of attributes: identification, mensurational, descriptive, qualitative, and others; the specifics and specific groups of woody species (climbing plants, shaped trees) are taken into account. The methodology is focused both on the evaluation of individual specimens of woody species, as well as the evaluation of the groups of individuals (from individual groups and stands of woody species to all the woody species in an object). For these woody species groups was drawn special qualitative attribute - so called dendrologic potential - indicating the ability of the existing woody species to ensure the stability of the composition. Expansion module of evaluation is focused on the specific needs of monument preservation. It includes 2 attributes expressing the historical authenticity of woody species - originality (genuineness, value, age) of a substance and ability to bear the principle contained in the original substance. The third attribute expresses the importance of woody species in the composition.

Evaluation of the Volunteer Program in the Hospital Ceské Budejovice Ltd
MALÁ, Lenka
Volunteering in the Czech Republic Heath Service has started to appear gradually but systematically since 2000. In the Health Service area mainly, volunteering should have its irreplaceable role and it should be in service of making patient's stay in hospital more pleasant. The subject of volunteering has taken my interest not only because of my job, as a registered nurse, but even more, it was my aim to gain more knowledge in this matter. As a future goal, I would like to make an attempt to bring volunteers to Elderly People Home where I am currently employed. The theoretical part deals with the definition of basic terms as volunteering and volunteer. The attention is given to the types of volunteering, development and progress of volunteering in Health Service. Volunteer's program in hospital is also described i.e. its particular stages, realisation, participants, basic structure of management and reciprocal relationship among individual participants. With respect to the aim of my thesis, Volunteer's programme in Ceske Budejovice Hospital is introduced there. Finally, I also focus on motivation, social behaviour and altruism. The analytical part is realised by quantitative research and by the technique of semistructured controlled interview. Six participants took part in it. The results of the survey were processed by a specific quantitative method. The results of the research showed that communication partners see the benefit in this type of volunteering not only for themselves but also for patients and hospital staff. As motivation for this volunteer activity they indicate essentially gaining new experiences. The results of this thesis can be used as a feedback for Volunteer's programme in Ceske Budejovice Hospital.
