Geographical aspects of the process of deinstitutionalization of the Sudetenland border
Korčák, Matěj ; Netrdová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Šimon, Martin (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the impact of the former Sudeten German border as a primary factor on the socio-spatial differentiation of Czechia in time and space. The issue is viewed chronologically through the lens of the deinstitutionalization process. The main criterion evaluated within this process is the border's persistent effect on regional differences in its surroundings. The choice of indicators for which the degree of deinstitutionalisation is examined assumes that the expulsion of Czech Germans from the borderlands and the subsequent resettlement of the affected areas have transformed the population structures in the long term. At the local level, a quantitative analysis of selected indicators representing the three elementary population structures - demographic, social and economic - is conducted. The average values of the indicators are compared within the defined border zones in terms of substantive relevance. Data from the censuses between 1980 and 2021 are used, which allows us to track the changes in the influence of the historical boundary over time. A particular emphasis is placed on the spatial heterogeneity of the degree of deinstitutionalization of the Sudetenland border, which is thus analysed not only as a whole entity, but also in terms of its variability...

The aim of this thesis is to describe basic principles of community social work, evaluation and importance of deinstitutionalization process nowadays and ascertain how social workers from residential social services in South Bohemian Region perceive deinstitutionalization of social work and how much they are aware of this matter. Theoretical part is focused on delimitation of basic terms related to the theme. It briefly describes residential social services in Czech Republic, transformation of social services, its causes and development in Czech Republic and foreign countries. This part of the thesis characterizes deinstitutionalization of social work services, advantages, disadvantages, risks and restraint of deinstitutionalization process and last but not least community social work and development of community social services. The practical part contains description of quantitative research realized by questioning method using online questionnaire, analysis and evaluation of dates and findings from questionnaire research. The research shows that social workers from residential social services consider deinstitutionalization of social services as positive process and important part of social services reform and that social workers have great awareness of this matter. However, they still want to know more about deinstitutionalization of social services. This thesis should not just serve as source of theoretical information about deinstitutionalization of social services, but it should represent a mean to raise awareness of importance and opportunities of deinstitutionalization of social services and utilization of community social services in social services transformation.
The transformation of institutional facilities for people with disabilities
RYBANSKÁ, Monika
My diploma thesis is focused on the transformation process of institutional facilities for people with disabilities in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is divided into six main chapters, which are further expanded by subchapters. The first chapter deals with transformation, which includes both the history and the present of transformation in the Czech Republic. The second chapter is devoted to social services for people with disabilities, where they focus on residential and field services related to the transformation process. The third chapter describes the projects and challenges that were used in the process. The fourth chapter is about good practice, where communities such as Camphill and Archa are also mentioned. The fifth chapter presents transformational inspiration from abroad, for example from the USA, Italy or Jordan. The last sixth chapter then takes place on the independent life of people with disabilities. The aim of the work is to find out the factors influencing the course and completion of the transformation in residential facilities for people with disabilities in the Czech Republic and how the overall change was evaluated by service representatives, their staff or the clients they. To this end, one research question and three partial research questions were identified. The practical part showed that the factors that affect the transformation and its successful completion can include a team of staff who identify with the philosophy of transformation and deinstitutionalization, then properly support the transformation plan, or by guardians, family members or the community, where new households are emerging.
Volunteering as Deinstitutionalizacion of Social Work
KRATKOVÁ, Barbora
The bachelor's thesis deals with volunteering as a possible form of deinstitutionalized social work. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to determinate the position of volunteering in social work and its use in the performance of social work. Further describe how social workers perceive volunteering and its applicability in social work. A qualitative research strategy was used to achieve the set goal. The research group was deliberately selected on the basis of arranging contact through volunteer coordinators. The research sample is therefore social workers who use volunteers in their practice for at least one year. The necessary data were obtained by the method of questioning, specifically by the technique of semi-structured interview. All data were evaluated by using open coding and subsequent categorization of data. The results show that although volunteering in social work is widely applicable and can be used in both outpatient, residential and field social services, it is not yet common in the domestic social work environment for volunteers to work in the client's natural environment and thus directly involved in the process of deinstitutionalisation of social services. Results of the research of this bachelor thesis can be beneficial both for the volunteers and volunteer coordinators as well as for social workers and organizations providing social services, by providing space for a possible discussion about the wide possibilities of volunteering and its future potential.

This thesis builds on the bachelor thesis Preparation of persons with intellectual disability for sheltered living, in which I dealt with three clients of a particular social service provider - Tereza, who were about to go into sheltered living or who lived there for a short time. Two of these clients and one new client of sheltered living were for the purpose of this thesis put under long time surveillance. The thesis is divided in two parts, theoretical and practical. Further, I deal with the process of deinstitutionalization. The practical part is dedicated to Tereza, a provider of social services, its sheltered living and three clients already mentioned. The aim of this study was to determine what for advantages and possibilities living in sheltered living has, eventually what restrictions it brings. By describing the specific situation I tried to show what life in sheltered living provides to these clients, if there are any problematic situations and as subsequently affect their current lives. Keywords: Adult with intellectual disability, quality of life, adult rights, deinstitutionalization, sheltered living,...

Vajdová, Martina ; Janečková, Hana (advisor) ; Šťastná, Jaroslava (referee)
Development and new trends in the care for people with mental illness Abstract: The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to capture developments and new trends in the care for people with mental illnesses. In the introduction, I briefly specify the concept of mental illness and set the division of mental illnesses. Several selected diagnoses of mental illnesses, which are described here are based on professional literature, practical experience and available health statistics. The following is a description of the development of care for people with mental illnesses. From Ancient Times to the Middle Ages, society explained the existence of mental illnesses in humans as the action of supernatural forces. The care for people with mental illnesses was merely an exception during these historical periods. The situation of people with mental illnesses improved during the period of Enlightenment. With the development of medical science, society came to the conclusion that mental illnesses were caused by brain diseases. Psychiatry became a field of science with the first successful therapy treatments. Treatment began to be concentrated in mental institutions, later in psychiatric hospitals. This trend prevailed until the second half of the 20th century. Towards the end of the 20th century, the process of...
