What Does - To Be in the Beginning - Mean II.
Šimek, Jiří ; LJUBKOVÁ, Marta (advisor) ; MAKONJ, Karel (referee)
In this master thesis I am analyzing the process of two author performances GoG & LONELiNESS & STUFF. I am trying to write down basic methods and assumptions for my own author work without scenario where the beginning of the whole process is only a theme or a literally model (which is more likely main inspiration source rather than pattern). All those methods and assumptions, I call Beginning which is a word that represents them in the best possible way. That is also a reason for naming my thesis What does -to be in the beginning- mean, this name should represent my never ending searching of more sophisticated way of developing theatre performance. The whole thesis begins with a chapter called Starting-points, which collection of most important things I learned in the Department of alternative and puppet department. The chapter is divided into parts according to the teachers who took turns in leading main subject Acting. In every part I tried to write about the way of influencing my approach to author work. Middle part consists of two chapters GoG and LONELiNESS & STUFF where I describe my own work on concrete cases from process of rehearsing both performances. In both chapters I describe my own new methods and experiences. Putting both processes in context, and trying to explain differences. And I also try to find a connection between the chapter Starting-points and concrete cases from my own author work. The whole thesis ends by a chapter What does to be in the beginning mean where I summarize and generalize issues which we were solving during our author work and I also try to establish requirements for really creative way of creating author performance. Main message of this thesis is to look back on my own work. Also, from my point of view, establishing ideal way of creative process and defining spectator as co-creator of theatre performance. Where this ideal way of creative process doesn’t exist because the point upgrades my own ability to constant adapt and change, act intuitively.

Acting in Animation
Jarošová, Marie ; HANČIL, Jan (advisor) ; MUSILOVÁ, Martina (referee)
The master's thesis Acting in Animation reflects the author's experience, gained by combining studies of animation and of authorial acting. Her goal is to explore and propose what should be included in the theory of acting in animation. She then seeks general guidelines which animators and authors of animated films can apply in their work. Can we call an animator "actor"? What general principles can we observe in the dramatic expression of animated characters? Who is an authorial animator?

Authenticity in the media World
Malaníková, Hana ; JIRÁK, Jan (advisor) ; HANČIL, Jan (referee)
The subject of my doctoral thesis is the phenomenon of the authenticity of people?s, specifically TV hosts?, public appearances in the media. The chief impetus, and the field of study itself, was my own experience of working at Czech Television for a year and a half and the necessity of placing that experience in the context of my theatre and teaching work.In the interest of preserving the most authentic possible testimony, the text is written in a narrative style with an emphasis on the subjective view of the author. In the introduction I set out the starting points from which I will explore authenticity in front of the television camera, along with the personal and social context of the phenomenon being studied. I describe the "rules of the game", i.e., the structure and concept of the text. Later I focus on the most significant contemporary views of authenticity, from the ideas of Jean-Jacques Rousseau to the theories of the social construction of reality of Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann. From social scientific theories, I move on to the authenticity of actors on stage and an analysis of the discipline of Acting with the Inner Partner as a specific case of authentic existence in a public situation. In the third chapter I compare the theory and practice of television broadcasting from the perspective of an actor attempting to perform authentically in the role of TV host. In conclusion, I compare my original hypotheses with the conclusions I reached on my journey from the stage to the television camera and set out their potential significance for the study of authorial acting and authorial creativity.
Building a Relationship with Sapce as a Prerequisite for an Authorial Condition
Durdilová, Tereza ; KOUBOVÁ, Alice (advisor) ; CHRZ, Vladimír (referee)
In my dissertation, I? concentrate on the relationship between people and space. I? consider this relationship to be the basis of an authentic relation to a present situation, and also the condition to experience it fully in everyday life and most of all during a public performance. My dissertation is in two parts. In the first one, I? show the significance of this relationship across various fields, and introduce the genesis of my personal relationship with space. I? stress the importance of the conscious interaction with space and also the desirability to build one's? own inner space, which is necessary to reach the condition for spaciousness. I? consider this to be an essential part of psychosomatic condition as well as of the condition for public performance, which I? prove - among others - on the necessity of space for the work with breathing and voice.
Johnny´s journey: Observation of a young disciple of acting
Večeřa, Jan ; HANČIL, Jan (advisor) ; RUT, Přemysl (referee)
In my thesis, I deal with the acting discipline in the context of what I have learnt during my studies at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (The Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy) and in the context of what I have learnt during my life in general. Thus, the work is, in many instances, a personal confession on the theme of acting rather than an academic or scientific paper. Each chapter is opened with a new theme which I attempt to analyse and explore from the adept of acting point of view. The themes I touch upon are, among others: the personality of the actor, his authenticity, spontaneity, his acting self-consciousness etc. The language of the analysis is my own and the results are compared with existing theories. The main theme of my thesis could be defined as interconnection of the human and the actor´s existence, in other words, the relationship of the actor with life-his own and the life of people around him. I am searching for a relationship between life and acting and I attempt to relate both in some context. When exploring the themes, I refer to my experience and memories from childhood (and memories of others as well), growing up, adulthood, my studies etc. In some sections, I reflect upon my acting experience and I relate them to particular performances or roles.
Progress of my musical authorical work and interpretation
Drábková, Anna ; JANDA ROGLOVÁ, Tereza (advisor) ; FEITHOVÁ, Irena (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with questions of composing and interpreting a song, authorship in different music bands, relationships between the author and interpret, inspirations and different angles of interpretation. It is divided into four chapters. The first three chapters deal with the need to express oneself by writing songs and what drives me to create songs since childhood. In the fourth chapter, I deal with the creation of songs, particularly with different styles and types. The next passage focuses on a deep analysis of my engagement as an author and how have I transformed as an author through a span of time. Then I deal with different song arrangements and their interpretations, how do they change over time. I look into possible experiments with songs as well. Finally, I deal with some problems of authorship and the extent of the author´s engagement in the process of work in different music bands, questions of different interpretations of songs, questions that regard the artist who is the author at the same time, and relationship to the audience. The last section of the thesis contemplates my concept of an imaginary viewer.
WHEN ACTOR WRITES A PLAY

This work named When actor writes a play is mostly dedicated to the Authorial theatre and the Authorial acting. I tried to describe the creation and the production of graduate and other authorial performances that I personally contributed to. I also described the creation of the play Siegfried´s Idyll, which I wrote and staged. The original text of the play is included in my dissertation work. By writing the paper I recapitulated my present theatre life and hopefully I learnt my lesson for the future career.
