Genius loci and cultural potential: Chateau area Lysa nad Labem

Bachelor thesis contains comprehensive picture of the unique Château in Lysá nad Labem. The first part of the text is dedicated to the construction and historical development on the castle hill from the early Middle Ages up to the present time, its influence on the contemporary form of the Château and also the Château's interiors, which are interpreted in terms of the fine arts in particular, originating from the days when the Château was owned by Šporkové family. Next part of the work depicts the rich history and present of the castle parks, including the sculptural allegory of workshops by Matthias Bernard Braun and Ignác František Platzer, which are precisely discussed in terms of their iconography. In the final part the work uses these knowledges to discuss cultural potential of the place as well as future of whole Château areal. Key words genius loci, cultural potential, Chateau Lysá n. Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings Lysá nad Labem

The diploma thesis Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem deals with the area of Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem that arose thanks to the benefactor Count Francis Anthony Spork. Unfortunately, most of the monuments no longer exist. The first part of this diploma thesis deals with the history of the town Lysá nad Labem and also with its monuments including the life of Count Spork. In the second part of the thesis we can find the detailed description of the ecclesiastical and the secular monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem, which were built at the times during the Count Spork's life. The monuments' description was done according to the engravings and sources from the period of the first half of the 18th century. The third part of this thesis describes the area of Bon Repos which was built by Count Spork. In this part we can also find the history of the site and the description of its baroque form. Unfortunately, the site of Bon Repos was rebuilt by archbishop Prichovsky in the second half of the 18th century. It is for this reason that the description of the baroque site was done thanks to the engravings and sources from that period. Importance of discalced Augustinians as the art submitters in Bohemia between year 1623 and Joseph's II. reforms

The introductory chapter fills a completely blank space concerning the history, organisation and spirituality of the Order of the Discalced Augustinians in the Czech context. The existing literature has so far only briefly outlined this topic; however, it cannot be explored with no knowledge of the 20th -century professional Italian research works or the preserved resources produced by the General Curia in Rome and the 18th century literature of the Order. The thesis also provides a general overview of the activities of the Czech mon asteries of the Discalced Augustinians in the period context, also reflecting the in fluence of the Order on the spiritual and cultural life of the laymen, an influence which, as regards the monastery in Lnare, extends into the early 20th century. The extant resources have helped to describe relations between the members of the Order and the outside world, be it the links to the local clergy or laymen, espe cially burghers and nobility or its dependants. The relationship between the famil ies who financed the foundation of the two latest monasteries (Lnare and Lysa nad Labem) and the monastic community is the focus of specific attention. Historical development of the castle park in the town Lysá nad Labem

This work wants to describe in detail historical development of castle park in the town Lysá nad Labem which is connected with owners and their changes in the castle and castle park in this town. These changes could perform in castle or castle park. Some owners realized good changes in castle or castle park. These changes people can admire now. For example the owner František Antonín Sporck added to the castle park unique complex of statues. This complex of statues became well- known and visitors can admire these statues also now. But some owners realized bad changes in castle park or they did not engage much time to change the castle park. These problems people can also watch now. For example there are many old trees in the natural park or there are dry trees in the formal park. These problems arised from bad changes in historical development of castle park in the town Lysá nad Labem. In this work there are also some informations about the town Lysá nad Labem and historical monuments in this town. This town is full of gorgeous historical monuments. It is also often known as a town of baroque art. There are also some informations about the baroque architecture and the baroque art of sculpture in the work, bacause there is castle rebuilded in baroque style and statues also in baroque style in the park. It is interesting that the first sculptor who could make the statues was M. B. Braun. This sculptor was the most famous sculptor in the Czech Republic. There are also some informations about baroque landscape architecture, because the castle park in the town Lysá is very precious. There is formal park which has axial symmetry. This formal park also contains the big complex of statues. There is the natural park too. But this natural park is in a bad condition now. The natural park needs renovation. In the Bechelor work the author wants to describe the park and its history. There are some problems which arised from historical development of the castle park. With these problems author can works in the subsequent work and she can make the plan of renovation of this park.
