Social protection of families experiencing the death of their child before and after birth
Zajíčková, Adéla ; Koldinská, Kristina (advisor) ; Lang, Roman (referee)
92 Abstract: Social protection of families experiencing the death of their child before and after birth The thesis analyses the issue of social protection of families who are facing the loss of their infant. This includes stillborn children, children who died immediately or shortly after birth, fetuses after miscarriage and after artificial termination of pregnancy. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first chapter places the whole issue in the context of the present time. It discusses the terminology closely related to the topic, including its development over time. At the same time, this part also mentions the directions taken by foreign legislation and, last but not least, the scope of the cases analysed is defined. The second part, the core of the text, contains a detailed analysis of the applicable institutes that can be applied in the framework of social security law in the defined cases. Taking inspiration from the social system of the Czech Republic itself, this chapter is also divided according to the first and second pillar: into social insurance benefits and state social support benefits. Given the interconnectedness of the institutes, labour protection and its scope are also mentioned. In order to get a comprehensive overview of the possible support, the chapter also includes care...
Enterococcus spp. as a reservoir of resistance genes.
Zajíčková, Adéla ; Lichá, Irena (advisor) ; Balíková Novotná, Gabriela (referee)
Bacteria of the genus Enterococcus are categorised among common nosocomial pathogens. They are a significant reservoir of resistance genes to a majority of antibiotics and exhibit an intrinsic resistance to low levels of beta-lactams, glycopeptides, aminoglycosides, streptogramines and lincosamides. The aim of this paper is to review the main resistance genes and other mechanisms involved in the resistance of bacteria of this genus to antibiotics. The paper is mainly focused on the resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics, which is provided by the expression and mutations of low-affinity PBPs, the individual van resistance types mediating resistance to vancomycin, and the expression of enzymes capable of modifying the functional groups of aminoglycoside antibiotics. The paper also describes the resistance to newer antibiotics that are used to treat vancomycin-resistant isolates. The resistance to individual antibiotics can arise from the coding of their own chromosomal genes or entire signaling pathways leading to a reduction in the effect of antibiotics, the acquisition of genetic mutations, and especially the spread of new resistance genes by horizontal transfer.
QR Code and decoding
Zajíčková, Adéla ; Drápal, Aleš (advisor) ; Šťovíček, Jan (referee)
The aim of this paper is to descript QR codes. First of all we focus on a description of a structure and then we deal with decoding, more specifically with the part which uses the theory of error-correcting codes. From the viewpoint of this theory QR codes can be perceived as an instance of Reed-Solomon codes. For that reason the paper deals with elementary properities of RS codes and with one of the technique of decoding, concretely Euclidean decoding algorithm. An example shows the knowledge and futhermore the paper includes detailed description of mathematical principle of used algorithm.
