Atmospheric frontal passages over Prague
Obdržálková, Eliška ; Vokoun, Martin (advisor) ; Bašta, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with migration statistics atmospheric fronts over the meteorological station Praha - Ruzyně. The first part explains the mechanism of this atmospheric phenomenon, including the primary research about the North Atlantic Oscillation that could have an impact on the atmospheric front. The aim of the thesis is processing of basic statistical characteristics of time series of atmospheric fronts crossing the Prague Area in the years 1950-2015, using different statistical methods. The conclusions can be found in the second part of the thesis. The main focus is on updating the statistical processing of the transition of atmospheric fronts across Prague. For this purpose records from 1950 to 2015 were used. The actual statistics were compared with the statistics reported by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, which includes only the atmospheric fronts from the period 1950 to 1999. Furthermore, the thesis deals with statistical data of atmospheric transition front via Prague depending on the direction from which they come and the index value of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). These statistics could be used to replace the already mentioned statistics of Czech Hydrometeorological Institue and can be used as a basis for further exploration of this issue. The Microsoft Office Excel 2007 was used to draw line and bar graphs. The Rosette graphs showing the relationship front, depending on the direction of where they come from were created using statistical program R.
The catastrophic flood in the year 1872 and its causes
Němeček, Ondřej ; Soukupová, Jana (advisor) ; Vokoun, Martin (referee)
The work deals with the floods of 25 and 26 May 1872. Its aim is to gather historical mentions of the flood, especially from the chronicles and from the press. From every historical record of the evaluation l will write important information related to the event, eg. the beginning of the storm, weather before the storm, the maximum height reached levels etc. On this basis, I will try to describe the causes of the flood, its flowage and consequences. Ideally I will discover in the records the facts that are still hidden from the professional community. The conclusions they arrive at work, will be compared with studies from the past.
Pinatubo, climate change after the eruption of the volcano.
Pavlásková, Šárka ; Soukupová, Jana (advisor) ; Vokoun, Martin (referee)
The work is focused on climate change following the eruption of a Philippine volcano Pinatubo. The volcano erupted on June 17, 1991. Into the air was given 20 to 30 million tons of sulfur dioxide. The Large amounts of volcanic dust has caused shading of sunlight, resulting in a global cooling of about 0,5 ° C. In this work is executed an analysis of foreign temperature series and also was compared to observations at meteorological stations in the Czech republic.
Pluvial and climatically favorable years 1770-1773
Mičková, Iva ; Soukupová, Jana (advisor) ; Vokoun, Martin (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to offer a complex picture of climate change during a short fourth pluvial period and its impact on humankind. Since there are countless number of sources and literature for every particular state, I focused mainly on a summary for the Czech Republic and touched on its neighboring countries. For a better comprehension of the whole picture of contexts, I have also mentioned Little Ice Age period, where the third and the fourth pluvial period belong to, and its possible causes and causes of the climate change in general in the beginning of the thesis. In its final part the thesis has evaluated the impact of this period on humankind. The purpose of the thesis is to draw credible consequences from the available sources for the analysed territory.
Flood-plain Analylis of the Karolinka Dam
Píšek, Petr ; Vizina, Štěpán (advisor) ; Vokoun, Martin (referee)
The thesis analyzes flood consequences caused by failure of a damaged barrier or a particular component of water impoundment Karolinka. In the first part of the thesis there is described the history of water impoundments construction, both in the world and in The Czech Republic. The failure rate is described, followed by description of damage caused by flood. Finally, the ways of software modeling of flood wave transition are described, whereas special attention is given to program HEC-RAS. The data preprocessing and preparation were realized by ArcGIS software while HEC-RAS program was used for modeling. The specification of the floodplain of dam failure was the outcome of the modeling. The two inputs of data were used for comparison of results -- altimetry grid 10x10 m ZABAGED and Digital Model of relief of CZ of 4th generation (DMR 4G) acquired by aerial Laser Scanning.
Building-up of the staging structure
Vokoun, Martin ; Burian, Jan (advisor) ; Schejbal, Milan (referee)
In my diploma work, I would like to mention my own view ont the bulding-up of the staging. It is rising from my experiences in the making of several inscenations. Espesially I would like to risng from my graduate inscenation ?Don Juan? in Disk theatre (Prague, 2006). Further I will mention inscenations ?As you like it? (Theatre of conservatory, Pratur 2007) and ?The dog of the gardener? (Theatre of J.K.Tyl, Plzeň 2008). My aim is describe particular components, which are taking a share on the creation of whole inscenation and in this way are building-up the staging structure.
