Design Optimization of Warehouse Operation

This bachelor thesis evaluates the framework of logistics at DHL Supply Chain s.r.o. and their customer Gross. It emphasizes on processes and optimization in stocks. In its theoretical part the thesis deals with the characteristics of the logistics, process maps, supply chain, SWOT analysis and employee survey. In the practical part there are two processes developed to process maps, comparison storage systems and employee satisfaction. As a result, these findings will improve the design process, efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Creating a Storage System in the Selected Company

This Master thesis is an extension of my previous Bachelor´s thesis evaluating logistical framework and implementation of the warehouse management system at DHL Supply Chain s.r.o. and their customer Gross. It emphasizes the processes and optimization in stocks. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of the logistics, process maps, supply chain, SWOT analysis, employee satisfaction and information and communication technologies. In the practical part there are two processes developed into process maps, comparison of storage systems, new warehouse management system implementation progress and employee satisfaction. The result of these findings is the evaluation of the implementation of SAP and to propose a follow-up on the previous productivity.

Providing Access to Electronic Information Resources at Jan Palach Library CUFA

The bachelor thesis deals with providing access to electronic resources (ER) at Jan Palach Library CUFA. The theoretical part of the thesis defines term ER, describes their typology, deals with acquisition and management and introducing tools for using them. The thesis describes experiences of Jan Palach Library CUFA with providing access to ER and deals with information behavior of ER users. The aim of the thesis is to describe a situation in ER management on example of an university library on Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. The practical part of the thesis is an user research on the method of the survey which results that situation in ER use is slowly getting better, users do not feel foreign language ER production as problem and just only small group of users attended workshop dedicated to ER, because users do not feel the need to. Analysis of Medline/PubMed

The diploma thesis examines biomedicine bibliographic databases MEDLINE and PubMed, both developed, maintained and provided by the U. S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). A general goal of thesis is offering answers to the question of historical and current importance of these resources. Text deals with a historical context of databases formation and their reflection in Czechoslovakian and Czech scientific community, what is also supported by qualitative research conducted as part of the thesis. Main part of the thesis deals with comprehensive analysis of the databases within environment formed by the NLM; analysis of systems components and PubMed graphic user interface and its query language. The thesis also presents issues of accessing databases content through third parties alternative platforms or interfaces built upon E-Utilities API. Comparison of ski resorts in the Czech republic and France

Goal of the thesis has been deep analysis of winter ski resorts in the Czech republic and France and finding an optimal ski resort for a week holiday. Set of criterias important for average czech skier for selection of a resort was designed accordingly to the results of a survey made on sample of czech population. Supplementary goal is to prove a hypothesis that rather than the size of a resort, the quality and scope of services (not only ski-related) really matters.
