Lifestyle in the countryside between World Wars and nowadays - case study

Téma venkova a jeho změn se v současnosti ve sdělovacích prostředcích a na internetových portálech, které jsou na tuto problematiku zaměřené, občas objeví. Málokdy ale tyto informace vyzní optimisticky. Častěji jsou autoři těchto zpráv rozčarováni úpadkem tradičního venkova. Ve své práci "Životní styl na venkově mezi světovými válkami a v současnosti" chci především přiblížit styl života na českém venkově v době meziválečné a ukázat na rozdíly i shody s vesnickým životem současným. Nejsilnějším motivem k napsání této studie pro mě byla otázka, zda u nás je opravdu aktuální proces upadání vesnic, jak dnes z mnoha stran slyšíme. Zda se tak stírají rozdíly mezi vesnicí a městem, zda mizí tradiční vesnice a jejich charakter. Další motivací bylo využít paměti a ochoty starších obyvatel venkova a nechat se při jejich povídání zanést do časů mládí, kdy cesty byly ještě prašné a plné volně pobíhajících slepic, večer se v domech svítilo petrolejkou a pro vodu se chodilo do studny. Ze sociologického pohledu je pro mě nejzajímavější životní styl venkovských obyvatel. Budu se proto zabývat právě životním stylem a faktory, které ho ovlivňují. Zaměřím se zejména na změnu obživy a s ní související stravy, trávení volného času dětmi i dospělými, na vývoj zvyků, tradic, spolků, svátků, na strasti a radosti dospívání,...

Changes in lifestyle in the countryside since the First Republic to the present - case study

This diploma thesis "Changes in lifestyle in the countryside since the First Republic to the present" is a case study providing information on lifestyle changes in the last 90-years in the village Zavisice and causes of these changes. The substantial change affecting all others is moving away from agriculture as the main means of sustenance. The crucial processes causing the changes in the country life the lifestyle of the rural population in studied time period were collectivization in the 50th, socialization in the 60th, centralization in the 70th and 80th and transformation after the year 1989. This thesis looks at this topic from many angles, generalizes some conclusions thus creating a comprehensive insight into the lifestyle of the inhabitants of the Czech countryside in the last century. The contents of the largest in the text analyzes the transformation of customs, traditions, livelihood and leisure, children's games and duties, schooling, food, clothing, housing, change in approach to raising children, celebrating of the religious or secular holidays and family feasts, change of associations and interest groups. Infertility experience: retrospective biographical reconstruction of now fertile women

This master's thesis focuses on the retrospective biographical interviews with three now fertile women who as narrators retrospectively create their identities during the experience with the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. I also explored how the medical and social institution could lead to a change of identity of female infertility. This master's thesis is based on theory of Erving Goffman about patients in total institution: this theory supports the idea that total (medical) institution destroys the patient's original identity and then constructs new identity. The major result of this master's thesis found four different changes in woman's identity during the experience of infertility: identity of implicitly fertile woman and potential mother, denial of identity and the process of accepting a new identity, identity of infertile woman and patient's identity, and mother's identity. The changes of woman's identity are based on diagnostic phase. Therefore I decided to separate them into four various period in this research: pre-diagnostic, diagnostic, post-diagnostic and contra-diagnostic. Parenthood of Two Women

This paper focuses on parenthood and raising children by same-sex couples in the view of non- heterosexual women in the Czech Republic, and especially their reproductive options, opinions and references. This research aims to find out what makes non-heterosexual women to decide whether or not to raise a child, what kind of reproductive techniques they prefer and how to raise a child within relationship. This research also aims to find out the division of roles in the female same-sex family, especially what aspects led to the division roles in the household. Thesis uses qualitative research, concretely based on in-depth semi-structural interviews with seven non-heterosexual women. Using a thematic analysis, I identified five key themes: origin, surroundings, preferences of reproducing options, homoparental families and fostering preferences. This research points to crucial impact of a family, job and money towards a decision to raise a child. Next important point is desire of motherhood. Women identified job and financial situation as a main aspect of the division roles in household. Non-heterosexual women generally preferred the sperm donation out of clinic insemination as the most suitable reproductive technique, in case of complication women approach IVF with fake father.
