Marriage as a Sacrament
Andrášová, Jana ; Tůmová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Martinek, Michael (referee)
The marriage encounters the deep crisis nowadays due to many opinions. This work discusses the possible influence of the Church on the situation. The stress on the sacramental nature of the marriage and the endorsement of the significant elements of the marital spirituality is held as a suitable way. The essence of the sacrament of marriage is clarified by the study of the biblical background and of the historical viewpoint. Contemporary theologians have introduced their teaching about the sacrament of marriage as well. They have been developing particularly the results of the last council. Four principles are found the core ones. Being together in Christ strengthens the unity of spouses. The marriage can hardly be indissoluble without the ability of forgiveness. The strong relationship between husbands and the Church is needed to form a healthy community. The source of strength to meet all the requirements is hidden in the common prayer of both partners. The duty of the Church is to help people to recognize the sacramental nature of the marriage and its spirituality. Realizing all this might be the best way of resurgence of matrimony. Community rejection of low threshold services for drug users in Prague
Valachová, Zuzana ; Nekola, Martin (advisor) ; Tůmová, Kateřina (referee)
This paper focuses on the topic of low-threshold centers for drug users in the context of NIMBY attitudes, which refers to the resistance of local communities to the placement of these centers in their neighborhoods. Prague is currently struggling with a lack of these services, which despite the urgency of the situation, remains unresolved. This paper seeks to understand the relations between NIMBY attitudes and such centers and the impact these attitudes have. It also reveals other factors that influence their operations. Finally, the paper defines the main issues of these centers and proposes possible solutions. These goals were achieved through a multiple-case study of the Drop In and Progressive centers, which involved interviews with their managers. Media research was conducted to gain insight into the situation from other parties involved. It was found that the Drop In center does not face any disturbances, while the other was closed due to disturbances by its residents that reached the political level. The main factor causing troubles was the volume of clients in the area, which disrupted peace and safety. The large volume of clients is caused by a lack of such centers and other addiction services in Prague. If the load was spread across more locations, services and their clients would not...

Jelínek, Jan ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tůmová, Kateřina (referee)
This bachelor's thesis investigates working environment of employees of one particular retirement home. The jobs being looked at are as follows - social worker, activation worker and certified nursing assistant. These spots are divided into two groups, the more professional and creative one and the social one. I define the working environments through qualitative semi-structured interviews. To discover the environment in question, it is important to describe the content of the job and the tasks that one doing it is obliged to fulfil, the well-being of the ones doing it and the personal relationships in the workplace. I discover the characteristics of the jobs taking internal regulations, legal definition of the job and interviews into account. Using the workplace wellbeing theory, which consists of five basic dimensions, I describe the working conditions of the jobs in question. Those dimensions are used to examine the aspects that have major influence on the workers' wellbeing. Those are the ones that concern the employees' career ambitions, physical demands on them and the influence they have on their physical state, how the job is socially, how much the workers make for a living and how they fit in their communities. I will study personal ties between employees through the theory of positive...

Icesave dispute and Icelandic EU application
Tůmová, Kateřina ; Váška, Jan (advisor) ; Hořejšová, Tereza (referee)
The bachelor thesis analyzes the influence of the Icesave dispute on the EU application and answers a research question, if the dispute poses an essential threat to Icelandic membership in the EU. The conflict over the Icesave debt began after the collapse of Icelandic banking system during the global economic crisis in 2008. Icesave was an online brand by the bank Landsbanki, which provided savings account in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The biggest problem in the dispute was reimbursement of the Icesave debt, which should Iceland paid for to both of the countries due to the Icelandic membership in the European Economic Area and on the base of the EU directive on deposit-guarantee schemes. The first chapter of this bachelor thesis is dealing with a development of the Icelandic financial crisis and with an excursion to the Icelandic banking system. The cause of the Icelandic financial crisis wasn't the global economic crises itself but also the unsustainable size of the Icelandic banking sector. The following chapter contains origins and development of the Icesave dispute and its international dimension. The third chapter is dealing with Icelandic EU application (July 2009). And the last chapter is the analysis of possibilities, how the Icesave dispute can thwart the EU membership, and...
Icelandic fisheries as the national interest and its influence on the formation of the foreign policy
Tůmová, Kateřina ; Hořejšová, Tereza (advisor) ; Weiss, Tomáš (referee)
Presented thesis analyzes the Icelandic fisheries as a national interest and its role in foreign policy. Importance of fisheries confirms the fact that in the first half of the twentieth century marine products accounted for over 90% of Iceland's exports and the Icelandic economy was fully dependent on one sector. Gradual diversification of the economy in the seventies, however, caused a decline in exports of fish products to one-third of total exports. The thesis assumes that the Icelandic fisheries have a significant impact on foreign policy, even though its economic importance is declining. The research is carried out on three historical events, such as the cod wars in the fifties and the seventies, mackerel dispute in 2010 and the withdrawal of Iceland's application to the EU in 2015. It would be expected that due to the economic ties and Icelandic membership in international organizations (NATO, EFTA) the Icelandic government would primarily seek peaceful solutions in international conflicts. However, it could be observed in the Icelandic case that due to the pressure of the domestic politics the government does not respond as it would be expected. According to the neoclassical realism the thesis should verify a hypothesis that in a case of security threat, the Icelandic government will give...
