Title: Coordination changes in a selected remote part of the locomotor system when walking in straight shoes and high heels. Objective: The aim of the dissertation is to find out how walking on a high heel affects the coordination changes and timing of the beginning of muscle activation in a selected part of the musculoskeletal system in comparison with walking in shoes with straight soles. Methods: This research work has an empirical, comparative intra-individual character. Comparative analysis of coordination characteristics of the locomotor system with the experimental character of obtaining quantitative data. We used a portable electromyograph BIOMONITOR ME6000 (Mega Electronics Ltd., Finland) to monitor changes in the timing of muscle coordination during walking in flat-soled and high-heeled shoes on flat terrain and on a treadmill. We recorded the synchronized video on a Sony HDR-SR12 digital video camera (SONY Co., Japan). Motor units and their electrical potential were sensed by self-adhesive homologated hydrogels electrodes MEDICO LEAD-LOK (Medico Electrodes Int., India, ISO 13485: 2003). The research group consisted of 30 healthy women (age 25 ± 5 years, weight 57 ± 7 kg, height 16 ± 5 cm, BMI 21 ± 3), all respondents are occasional wearers of high-heeled shoes. Results: We confirmed the...
Slavoj Žižek and the critique of ideology
Takač, Peter ; Hauser, Michael (advisor) ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (referee) ; Pelcová, Naděžda (referee)
The goal of the thesis is to analyze the contemporary form of ideology through the work of Slavoj Žižek. It aims to answer the question - resulting from the widespread notion of the end of ideology - what do people believe in nowadays. In other words, what do we follow or what do we respect if it is said that we do not believe in anything? The collapse of the communist project in the Eastern bloc brought a period of distrust towards grand narratives and utopian projects. In addition, the widespread form of ideology, which currently has been liberal democracy, allows each individual to choose their own way of life and among a wide range of parties with different political orientations. The answers to the critical analysis of this assumption and the current form of ideology are found in the work of Slavoj Žižek, who has been dealing with these questions since the end of the Cold War. The first part of the thesis presents the Marxist tradition of critique of ideology - its forms and observations it brought into this area. The second part deals with Žižek's contribution to the topics while clarifying the concepts of the Symbolic and the Big Other, representing the current forms of the unconscious and practiced collective activity. The influence of the dominant form of ideology on the population and...
On the motion of chemically reacting fluids through porous medium
Feireisl, Eduard ; Mikyška, J. ; Petzeltová, Hana ; Takáč, P.
We consider a parabolic-hyperbolic system of nonlinear partial differential equations modeling the motion of a chemically reacting mixture through porous medium. The existence of classical as well as weak solutions is established under several physically relevant choices of the constitutive equations and relevant boundary conditions.
