Wind Energy Use on Flat Roofs of Buildings
Tůmová, Eliška ; Kabrhel,, Michal (referee) ; Horák, Petr (referee) ; Hirš, Jiří (advisor)
The PhD thesis is focused on determination of the method by which it is possible to specify the wind energy use potential on building flat roofs. In response to the need to reduce the production of CO2 emissions and increase energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to use alternative energy supply systems and renewable resources as much as possible. Long-term and short-term wind parameters were measured to verify the of the resulting simulation velocity flow images. Based on the defined input parameters and the completed simulation, the resulting value of the potential is determined, namely the possible production of electricity for selected small wind power plants on the roof of the selected building during one year. In the thesis the individual steps of the method are stated and the verification of the established method is determined.
Creating a microclimate of an industrial building with high demands on its uniformity
Tůmová, Eliška ; Gebauer, Günter (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of microclimate of an industrial building. There is required constant temperature with minimal fluctuations during manufacturing process in the building. Due to insufficient cooling power of air-conditioning system was objective to design a solution that ensures stability of internal temperature during production especially in summer and simultaneously should be the solution economically acceptable. Simulation shows original state defined problems. Some new or unusual materials for solar shading are reviewed in the thesis by the experimental measurements and by the comparative method. To each material is assigned shading coefficient according to Czech standards, thereby is achieved universality for calculations of heat gains resulting from solar radiation. By one part of the experiments and their evaluation is determined thickness of the standard single glass glazing. It is also determined proportional transmittance of solar radiation for certain multiwall polycarbonates, which are currently used as fillers of industrial skylights and production hall‘s window openings. From experiments resulting design is subjected to the simulation. Comparison of temperatures is shown for the time before the installation of designed solar shading and after the installation of the solar shading.

Specifics of nutrition in postmenopausal women
Ostárková, Ester ; Maruna, Pavel (advisor) ; Tůmová, Eva (referee)
The diploma thesis studies the specifics of nutrition in postmenopausal women. During this period, women face the decline of female hormones and with postmenopausal symptoms, which significantly affect the quality of women's life. A healthy lifestyle plays a significant role in limiting the effects of symptoms on daily life activities and work as a prevention of diseases typically caused by the aging. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of menopause and physiological changes, clarifies the increased risks of developing diseases during this period, lists their dietary measures and deals with general recommendations for appropriate nutrition for women in menopause, including the issue of phytoestrogens. The main goal of the practical part of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the eating habits of postmenopausal women in comparison with general recommendations and to determine the level of awareness of appropriate nutrition, physical activity, prevention options and a possible higher risk of disease during this period. The metodology used a questionnaire survey, which was supplemented with case studies. The results of the research point to inappropriate eating habits of postmenopausal women as a low consumption of fish, vegetables and whole grain products, and conversely higher...
Acute coronary syndromes and the influence of nutritional education
Křupková, Petra ; Tůmová, Eva (advisor) ; Altschmiedová, Tereza (referee)
Patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction need a comprehensive team of doctors and health professionals in whose care they are in the follow-up. Many times, however, a nutritionist may be missing from this team. It is very important for patients to take small and effective steps to change their lifestyle and dietary choices after they leave the hospital. Nutrition plays a major role in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and is one of the non-negligible preventive factors for recurrence of acute myocardial infarction. The thesis focuses on the issue of dietary change after AIM with a three-month interval. It compares the choice of certain foods in a nutritionally educated group that also received educational papers and a control group that did not receive education and did not receive papers. The first conversation with patients took place at the hospital bedside. Respondents signed an informed consent form, were anthropometrically measured, asked several questions about diet and lifestyle, and were instructed on what they needed for a follow-up interview in three months. Laboratory values were taken from each patient's discharge report. Every other patient was educated and received education papers. Group B patients received only a paper with their name, phone...
The World of David Walliams and Roald Dahl's Children's Books. A Comparative Analysis
TŮMOVÁ, Eliška
Through a comparative analysis of the prosaic work of two British authors of children's literature, the bachelor thesis will attempt to describe the dynamics of the development of literary works for children's readers in the context of British fantasy literature. By way of examples from works of the contemporary author David Walliams, the thesis will deal with themes, motifs and manner of narration of the author of humorous children's prose in comparison with the literary legacy of works of Roald Dahl. The thesis focuses its attention on the form of literary grotesque and hyperbole, which in the context of works for children's readers opens up controversial themes in the case of both mentioned authors.
Materials for developing interpreting skills
Tumová, Ema ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Malkovská, Alžběta (referee)
This thesis focuses on materials for developing interpreting skills. Its objective is to explore existing materials and conduct an in-depth analysis of several of them. It focuses on the Czech production but also partially examines Slovak publications. First, the theoretical part outlines the basic terms and concepts: interpreter training, interpreting competencies and skills, instructional materials. Then the empirical part presents the actual research, which combines qualitative and quantitative methods. An overview of currently available materials, mainly Czech, and partly also Slovak, is compiled, with a brief description of each of them. This is followed by an in-depth analysis based on the investigated parameters (trained competence, activity, possibility to perform the exercise independently, possibility of variation, only one correct solution, role of speed). This section traces what is characteristic of the exercises from three selected publications. The results of the analysis suggest which exercise books are likely to be more suitable for self-study and which for use in the classroom. This thesis can serve as a practical resource for authors of new publications, as well as for those interested in interpreting who are looking for appropriate resources for practicing interpreting skills.
