Formal Language Theory Applied in Musicology

The aim of this thesis is to apply formal models in music. Specifically, it concentrates on the generation of musical strings. In the thesis, a scattered context grammar for generating variations of a musical motif was designed. Next, an algorithm was designed for table driven parsing of the grammars. The algorithm uses a list of stored rules, which allows it to work with only the top of a stack. The algorithm was implemented as an application, which allows the generated motifs to be played or saved.
Business plan - cafe

The aim of this thesis is to create a business plan of cafe which could be used for future realisation of project. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part contains basic concepts, definitions and principles of the business plan, especially analyzes which are used in the practical part. The main emphasis is lays on the practical part, which focuses on the implementation of the plan, particularly on the analysis of its surroundings, marketing analysis and financial plan for this project.
Maritime container transport

Maritime transport is the world's leading transport industry. Its importance is shown by the fact that over 90% of goods is transported by sea. The aim of the thesis is to analyze present maritime container transport, with a focus on its use in the export operations of the Czech Republic. Firstly, it characterizes the specifics of maritime container transport from a global perspective. It describes the development of containerization and the current situation of maritime container transport market. Subsequently, it analyzes the use of maritime container transport in the Czech Republic and the role of forwarder. Finally, a case shows the process of an export operation from the Czech Republic to Mexico.
The Issue of Czech as a Foreign Language

This thesis deals with Czech language to the intent that it is a foreign language, thus it deals with the right opposite view than usual. A reader will familiarize himself/herself with a brief history of Czech in the theory. Then he/she can look into politically oriented problems such as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or the matter of compatriots who have been living abroad and for whom varied programs are created by the Czech Ministry of Education. Possibilities and obligations of foreigners living in the Czech Republic are also discussed. Interested persons can learn useful information about the Association of Teachers of Czech as a Foreign Language in the last chapter. Then there are three questionnaires elaborated in the practical part of the thesis. The questionnaires study teaching Czech for foreigners at some language schools in the Czech Republic, at chosen universities in Great Britain and in the USA. The third questionnaire was handed out among more than 200 foreigners from different countries and the aim of the research was to map problems which each single nationality face when studying Czech, levels of language knowledge according to age and the length of stay in the Czech Republic etc. Characterizing the Manual made for foreigners who do not know the Roman alphabet and characterizing the most often used books in teaching Czech as a foreign language follow the mentioned questionnaires.
The analysis of consumer buying behaviour and shops availability in the town of Vimperk

The main priority of the universally used marketing concept is to define and satisfy customer needs. The analysis of consumer buying behaviour exactly helps us to understand it. The aim of this study was to define the shopping behavior of the population of the city Vimperk. Parts of the analysis were to find out where the inhabitants of the city and his neighbourhood shop, give reasons to their purchase in the selected location, eventually compare the observed facts to the nationwide trends and to assess the level of shops availability in the city.
