Chiral Carbon-rich Materials – From Single Molecule to Functional Layers.
Žádný, Jaroslav ; Storch, Jan ; Strašák, Tomáš ; Krbal, M. ; Hrbáč, J. ; Vacek, J.
Comprehensive study of two different carbon-rich materials properties – [6]helicene and 1-butyl-3-(2-methyl[6]helicenyl)imidazolium bromide – and their thin films is presented. Because of different solubility, diverse preparation approaches had to be employed – electropolymerization and spin-coating. Spectroscopic and electrochemical properties were investigated along with examples of their practical use as detectors of biomolecules (e.g. DNAs). A high application potential of helicene-based carbon-rich materials in development of new optoelectronic devices is demonstrated.

Sulphonation of Polystyrene Beads.
Strašák, Tomáš
This report describes sulphonation of polystyrene beads with narrow size distribution of particles typically with diameter 2-8 µm. These particles serve as starting material for preparation of stationary phase for ion exchange chromatography (IEC). An advantage of this procedure is replace of risk procedures which worked with chlorosulphonic acid or oleum as a sulfonating agent by procedure using concentrated sulphuric acid.
Potential-driven On/Off Switch Strategy for the Electrosynthesis of [7]Helicene-derived Polymers.
Žádný, Jaroslav ; Storch, Jan ; Strašák, Tomáš ; Církva, Vladimír ; Hrbáč, J. ; Fekete, Ladislav ; Pokorný, Jan ; Bulíř, Jiří ; Vacek, J.
3-([7]H elicen-9-yl)-thiophene hybrid monomer was electrooxidized in acetonitrile by cyclic voltammetry with anodic potential limits of +1.5 V or +2.5 V, resulting in a conductive and non-conductive polymer, respectively. The electrochemical findings were supplemented by microscopy investigations; UV-Vis, fluorescence and vibrational spectroscopies, ellipsometry measurements and computational chemistry. The electrodeposited polymers could be used for the further development of materials applicable in organic electronics and sensing technologies.

Synthesis of Polymer Particles by Emulsion Polymerization.
Strašák, Tomáš
This report describes preparation of polystyrene particles with narrow size distribution by emulsion polymerization. These particles called also PS latex have size around 600-700 nm and serve as starting material for preparation of stationary phase for Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEC).
Business Plan for the Establishment of Fitness Center
Střasák, Tomáš ; Kacálek, Jan (referee) ; Heralecký, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis focuses on developing a business plan for the establishment of a new fitness center. The theoretical part describe the basic concepts, business plan and environmental analysis. The following is analyzed environment around the company. The last part focuses on a specific business plan for the establishment of fitness center.
Application of the Theory of Statistics to Controlling Processes
Strašák, Tomáš ; Zichová, Jitka (referee) ; Koch, Roman (advisor)
This dissertation is considered to statistical control of call center. There are suggested a possible description of the center and identify key parameters which influence its performance on the base of measured informations. In this work is describe construction of a call center model which is used for generation specified scenarios of incoming phonecalls. This experimental data are analyzed, main factors which influence its efficienty are determined and principles which realization can be reached given targets are described. Basic attention lead to maximization of benefit and consequetive estimation optimal amount of operators. These principles as same as estimated dependances subserve as decision-making knowledge what amount of operators and theirs expedient combinations is optimal and for estimation of impact to efficiency and call center function in a case of making changes.
Measurement of Carbon-Carbon Coupling between Chemically Equivalent Nuclei.
Blechta, Vratislav ; Strašák, Tomáš ; Sýkora, Jan
We present here a modification of the above experiment with aim of increasing the sensivity. The experiment is discussed with respect to the sensivity and influence of strong couplings.
