The developement of urban build-up area and urban infrastructure in Benešov in the years 1918-1939

In my diploma thesis "The Development of Urban Build-up Area and Urban Infrastructure in Benešov in the Years 1918 - 1939", I explore one chapter in the development of a small agricultural town during the era of the First Czechoslovak Republic. This thesis is a contribution to the history of Czech towns during the interwar period and its topic corresponds to the research project of the Institute of Economic and Social History at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, within the frame of which I worked on this thesis. The thesis was written mainly based on research of the resources in the State District Archives in Benešov (a branch office of the State Regional Archives in Prague) and of a wide range of relevant specialized literature. The introduction consists of a chapter offering a complex summary of the most important moments and changes in the development of Benešov during the examined period. Apart from the history of Benešov, it also shows the role of the town in the region and the relation of its development to other municipalities in the country. The focal point of the thesis lays in the extensive yet lucid chapters examining architectural development of the town (the essential moments, context, but also particular interesting buildings) and the development of its infrastructure...

The developement of urban build-up area and urban infrastructure in Benešov in the years 1871-1914

My bachelor thesis covers the topic: The Development of Urban build-up Area and Urban Infrastructure in Benešov in the Years 1871 - 1914. The sources of information on which basis the thesis is written originate from SOKA Benešov fund as well as from several published scientific books. In the beginning there are included two chapters that serve as an initiation into the given theme. The first chapter briefly takes down the construction development of the city before 1871. This development is followed by another chapter that thoroughly deals with the city development in the time period primarily aimed by this thesis. The introduction is completed with a chapter Railway, in which it is described the development of its net. The focal point of my thesis is composed by two main thematic areas: the urban planning development and the infrastructure development of the city. In the first theme area there is described the concrete construction development of the whole city, its streets and open spaces. The view of the architects or buildings is included. The theme area the infrastructure development of the city consists of chapters deeply dealing with the development of an every single infrastructure component - urban sewerage and street layout, lightning, water supply and electrification. To the Historical Development and Documents of Gendarmerie Stations in Čerčany and Červený Újezd in the First Half of the 20th Century

Presented bachelor thesis intends to introduce the history of gendarmerie stations in Čerčany and Červený Újezd in the context of development of Czechoslovakian gendarmerie during the years 1918 - 1945. The thesis is divided to four chapters. The first chapter evaluates contemporary literature and available sources to the questions of gendarmerie, with special emphasis on gendarmerie stations. Second chapter summarizes development of gendarmerie and its organisation, personnel question, education and service in 1918-1945 period. In the third chapter there is brief look on the history of municipalities Čerčany and Červený Újezd, particularly in the period of existence of local gendarmerie stations. Heart of this work is the fourth chapter, which contains information about history of the stations, its personnel and activities in the period under consideration.
