The perspectives of children from shared-parenting care towards the experience of a home
Rausová, Magdaléna ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Urban, Kamila (referee)
This thesis is focused on the perspectives of children in shared physical custody on home. The theoretical part introduces the concept of home and its characteristics and describes shared custody, its impact on children's psychological outcomes and finally the experience of home of children from separated families. The outcomes of children in shared physical custody and their experience of home show the important role of parents and their relationships with their children. Qualitative research in the second part of the thesis finds out how children in shared physical custody perceive home. Data collection took place in the form of semi-structured interview complemented by the FAST method. The interview was conducted with nine children between the age of 10 and 17. Results were analysed with the interpretative phenomenological analysis approach. This analysis shows six most important characteristics of home. Into these characteristics belong family relationships, physical and material dimension of home, the feeling of ease and comfort, journeying, and the feeling of safety. The results also suggest that family relationships play the crucial role in the perception of home for children in shared physical custody. Seven from nine children felt at home in the households of both parents. Contrary to the...
Differences between interaction of a child with siblings and with peer group in early childhood play
Rausová, Magdaléna ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Veselá, Michaela (referee)
Bachelor thesis gives attention to preschool children interaction with siblings or with peers during free play. This thesis sums up and critically evaluates up to date knowledge on the topics of free play, sibling interactions and peer interactions of preschool aged children. Sibling and peer interactions are here mainly seen from the point of view of their effect on the development of a person and effect of those relationships on one's behaviour and his peer or sibling. In the second part of the thesis a research project is designed. Its goal is to compare sibling and peer dyadic interactions in free play and controlled situation. Actions of a child would be obtained in two situations - free play and controlled activity and two dyads - sibling and peer dyad. Data obtained this way would be qualitatively processed and results could contribute to the question of similarity and differences of sibling and peer relationships. Findings made in this thesis might contribute to further research on siblings and peers as factors of psychosocial development of a person and theirs influence on one's behaviour.
The least weighted squares and its asymptotics
Raušová, Magdaléna ; Víšek, Jan Ámos (advisor) ; Hanus, Luboš (referee)
When there are some influential observations present in a data set (such as outliers or leverage points), the use of some robust method may be desirable for being able to draw relevant conclusions from an econometric analysis. In order to use these methods properly, we need some diagnostic tools. To be able to derive these tools theoretically, we first need to know the form of the asymptotic representation of corresponding estimator. This thesis derives the asymptotic representation of the estimator obtained by the method of least weighted squares under the assumption of heteroskedastic residuals. The tight- ness of the estimator and its asymptotic representation under several levels of contamination is also shown in a simulation study.
Robustification of regression model with the fixed and random effects
Raušová, Magdaléna ; Víšek, Jan Ámos (advisor) ; Bobková, Božena (referee)
In case of some influential observations in an econometric analysis, the classical methods, such as ordinary least squares, are likely to fail. The problem of outliers and leverage points can be overcome by the robust methods. This thesis studies the use of robust methods for panel data - specifically, the robustified versions of the methods of fixed and random effects utilizing the least weighed squares are studied. After introducing the theoretical background, results of a numerical study are provided. This numerical study is a Monte Carlo study that shows, how the classical and robust methods work under several levels of contamination and also, how the choice of the weight function can influence the results of the methods that utilize the least weighted squares.
