Expressions of Reactivity and Tolerance to Frustration in Convicted Male and Female Offenders
Okrouhlická, Kateřina ; Čáp, David (referee)
The crucial theme of this thesis focuses on manifestations and ways how female offenders react at the moment when they get into frustrating situations. Frustration is here perceived primarily from the point of view of common daily situations when an individual encounters an obstacle which prevents them to achieve or to satisfy their own needs. The research sample includes female offenders, who committed a criminal offence in the past and subsequently were convicted and received a prison sentence. This thesis uses Rosenzweig picture frustration method, which examines the way the examined person in a stressful situation reacts and at the same time what kind of behaviour in continuous frustration prevails. This thesis is based on the diploma thesis which also focused on reactivity and tolerance towards frustration, but in convicted men. The aim of this thesis was to examine and compare ways of manifestations and reactions to a frustrating situation in female and male offenders who committed crime. The sample of this thesis included 63 convicted female offenders in total. Reactivity and tolerence to frustration from the perspective of psychology for convicted criminal offenders
Okrouhlická, Kateřina ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Čáp, David (referee)
The thesis deals with reactivity in response to a frustrating situation for convicted offenders. The main issue in the theoretical element is reactivity; or rather the behaviour and manifestation of reactions in the moment when an individual gets into stressful situations, is impeded or blocked in achieving their target. The definition of frustration is an equally important area, which, in the thesis is initially described from the perspective of classic theorists, and then the various ways how we examine and diagnose frustration. The last and equally important chapter consists of the offender's personality, which is defined in the context of the aforementioned frustration and reactivity. The aim of the empirical component is to obtain quantitative data on the most frequent reactions among criminal offenders in the moment before they face the obstacle that is blocking their achievement of goals or satisfaction. The research sample was composed of 69 convicted criminal offenders from remand prisons Pankrác, Hradec Kralové and prison Plzeň. The Picture Rosenzweig frustration method was used to examine the reactivity as a result of frustration. Four hypothesis was determined and only one hypothesis was confirmed. Extragression, outside oriented response, is the most frequently response in comparison...

Okrouhlická, Kateřina ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Štětovská, Iva (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the socio-cultural aspects that influence the cooperative or competitive behaviour. It deals with the question if the socio-cultural aspects such as culture, gender, family, school, influence people's preferrences to cooperate or, on the contrary, to compete. It presents not only the theoretical definitions of the above terms, but also the differences between cooperation and competition, the ways how to change the competitive behaviour to the cooperative behavior, but it also shows particular surveys, which dealt with socio-cultural aspects of cooperation and competition in the past. The last chapter gives a research suggestion dealing with different kinds of cooperative and competitive behaviour of employees in 12 European companies. The research sample consists of employees from the companies in the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and Greece. The aim of this research would be to discover whether individual socio-cultural differences, specifically culture and gender, affect competitive or cooperative relationships in the company.
