Application of Scanning Probe Microscopy for the Study of Ultrathin Films and Nanostructures

Pavelec, Jiří ; Neuman, Jan (referee) ; Kalousek, Radek (advisor)
The main focus of the thesis is on the actuator, which is used for nanopositioning of laser beam in-site AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy). The appropriate shape of supply pulse and frequencies were searched and optimized. They make slip-stick motion of the piezo actuator. Possibilities of solving troubles with UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) are described on the basis of experiment and simulation.
Preparation and testing of SNOM probes
Bobek, Juraj ; Neuman, Jan (referee) ; Spousta, Jiří (advisor)
Fotonická krystalická vlákna (PCF) představují slibný nástroj pro spojení technik známých z mikroskopie rastrovací sondou, elektronové mikroskopie a systémů pro vstřikování plynu. Přivedení světla a přenos pracovního plynu současně do blízkosti vzorku umístěného uvnitř elektronového mikroskopu přináší nové možnosti experimentů.

Title: Influence of outdoor activities on interpersonal relationships in a peer group in the environment ofinstitutional care. Aim of the thesis: The aim of this work is to find out whether outdoor activities have an effect on relationships in the group of the youth who live in the conditions of institutional care. Research methodology: We have used the Sociometric questionnaire B3-U. In the experimental group there are 11 adolescents from the orphanege in Jablonec nad Nisou. In the control group there are 10 children and adolescents from the orphanege in Semily. Children's age ranged from 8 to 15. Results and conclusions: The results of the research showed that the most excluded person in the group found new relationship in the group. Results regarding the most exluded people in the group were very positive. After our intervention the least favorite person recieved about half less of the negative voices. In the group hierarchy the distance among members of the group grew smaller. Only results of feelings friendship and confidence in the group were after the intervention lower. That is suprising in relation to other results which were positive. Keywords: Outdoor activities, outdoor sports, institutional care, group dynamics, interpersonal relationships.

Kopalová, Renata ; Neuman, Jan (advisor) ; Bocan, Miroslav (referee)
Title: Integration of disabled children in Scouting Aim: The aim of the thesis is to determine the current state of integration of disabled children in Scout groups in the Czech Republic. To discover experiences of Scout-leaders working with teams, into which a disabled child has been integrated, and to determine attitudes of these workers towards the integration in Scouting. A related goal based on the research results is to provide information necessary for creation of system and conceptual arrangements for integrated education in Scouting. Another partial objective is thanks to the conducted survey to set principles for a possible future comparative investigation monitoring the development of the phenomenon. The results will be obtained from study of special literature, conduction of the survey, semistructured interviews and observation. The results will be published on the internet and in Scout press. Methods: The research will be conducted by survey questionnaire, semistructured interviews and observation. Results and conclusion: The findings in the survey suggest that the integration of disabled children in the Czech Scouting is on a higher level than in formal education. This phenomenon may be linked to Scout-leaders attitudes, which are influenced by Scouting education. The integration is...

Results: Based on a survey of publicly accessible information there was compiled an up-to-date list of organizations and centres engaged in providing outdoor activities for people with disabilities in the Czech Republic. My personal inquiry also showed a positive approach of people with disabilities and workers with disabled people towards outdoor activities; a scale of most demanded activities was compiled; and the respondents' awareness was found of organizations aimed at outdoor activities for people with...
Sport activities in human-dog interaction
Grbavčic, David ; Neuman, Jan (advisor) ; Gnad, Tomáš (referee)
Thesis title Sport activities in human - dog interaction Thesis objectives The thesis introduces sport activities involving the interaction of human and dog. Its aim is to ascertain the physiological load imposed on the body during selected sport activities in which a human is engaged in an interaction with a dog and to compare the findings with the physiological load generated by another sport activity (mountain bike). Methods Analysis of expert documents. Heart-rate monitoring with the Polar RS400 sporttester capable of processing data on heart-rate and body load. Results The results obtained in separate measurements have proven the defence work to be more physically demanding for a sportsperson than riding a mountain bike. The assumption was confirmed by the differences in heart-rate values and the varying time periods needed for the sportsperson's recovery. Recovery time after a mountain bike training session is fourteen hours. In contrast, it takes the sportsperson (the helper) twenty-seven hours to recover from a defence work session of equal length. Considering the diversity of defence work training units and the small number of measurements the results are to be taken as tentative. However, they will facilitate improved training preparation of defence work helpers. Key terms dog sport,...
