Parent-children incest behaviour and its' consequences
Beschornerová, Eliška ; Kuncová, Lucie (advisor) ; Bártová, Klára (referee)
This bachelor thesis reviews studies investigating incestuous behaviour between parents and their offspring. The first part of the thesis deals with the definition of incestuous behaviour - i.e., which individuals and what behaviour is involved- and the prevalence of incestuous relationships between father and daughter and between mother and son. Next, the factors of incest prevalence are discussed, including the overall characteristics of families where incestuous relationships occur and the individual characteristics of the incestuous father and mother. Subsequently, based on the presented factors, the basic types of incestuous relationships are described - functional type, accidental or disorganized type, pathological incest, incest through object fixation, and psychopathic incest. The paper also discusses the consequences of incestuous behaviour, which could be divided into three groups: relational imbalance, increased risk of intergenerational incest, and traumatic neurosis. Finally, the thesis concludes by describing the psychological mechanism that prevents incest behaviour, the so-called Westermarck effect. Keywords: incest, prevalence of incestuous behaviour, Westermarck effect, types of incest, father-daughter incest, mother-son incest, consequences of incest, sexual abuse
Ternary macrocyclic complexes of metals with fluoride anions
Kuncová, Lucie ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Schulz, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to synthesize three ligands derived from mackrocycle TACN, which were previously investigated in our laboratory group, and subsequently prepare gallium and aluminum complexes with these ligands for the study of coordination properties. The complexes were characterized by NMR, HPLC-MS and EA. For the complexes that were prepared, data on the ability to bind fluoride anions (i.e. the formation of ternary macrocyclic complexes) were measured using fluoride ion-selective electrode. Dissociation equilibria at pH = 8-10 were also studied for the complex [Ga(L1)] that had the highest percentage of bound fluorine anions (~ 95%).
Role of body odour in partner relationship
Černý, David ; Kuncová, Lucie (advisor) ; Martinec Nováková, Lenka (referee)
Body odor is a good guide in mate choice, because it contains information such as the kinship, emotional state, or health condition of an individual, a person is able to perceive this information to a certain extent. The individual factors that affect the body odor will subsequently influence the preferences for the body odor as well. Those preferences are applied especially when seeking for a partner and at the beginning of the relationship. At the same time, however, it turns out that body odor affects even the process of partnership and the end of it. In the context of relationships and olfactory communication in humans, especially in the context of sexual life, the effect of pheromones is often discussed, which is the subject of the last chapter. The aim of the work is to gather and critically evaluate existing studies dealing with the role of body odor in the partnership and to suggest possible directions for further research. Keywords: smell, pheromones, partner preferences, mate choice
Sexual disgust in an evolutionary perspective
Šeda, Jan ; Kaňková, Šárka (advisor) ; Kuncová, Lucie (referee)
Disgust is one of the basic human emotions, its purpose being protection of individuals from situations that could potentially harm them. Disgust can also play a part in many mental disorders. One of the domains of disgust is sexual disgust, which allows an individual to choose the optimal sexual partner and to distance themselves from other individuals who exhibit inappropriate sexual behavior. The sexual disgust sensitivity is influenced by a range of individual factors, such as political orientation, religion, culture and social norms, personality differences, preferred reproductive strategies and gender. Higher average rate of sexual disgust has been observed in women than in men, which is related to their different sexual and social lives. Disgust also plays an important role in prejudice against homosexuals. Keywords: sexual disgust, mating strategies, homosexuality, basic emotions, adaptive behavior
Radiolabeling of aluminum and gallium complexes with radioisotope 18F
Kuncová, Lucie ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Pavel (referee)
The most widely used emitter in positron emission tomography is the fluorine isotope 18 F, which can bind to a number of atoms, and thus allows the formation of imaging agents for positron emission tomography. This work will summarize methods for labeling complexes containing aluminum or gallium as a central cation, which can serve as stable carriers of the positron emitter in a human body. Both of these elements have unique physical and chemical properties suitable for molecular imaging. Therefore the development of complex labeling, their structure, coordination environment and some applications in nuclear medicine will be described here.
Starring - Oxygen: Proposal and Evaluation of an Inquiry Activity
Kuncová, Lucie ; Rusek, Martin (advisor) ; Beneš, Pavel (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on verifying the proposed inquiry-based activity and comparing its effectiveness with a traditionally concieved theme for experimental activity of pupils with the same topic. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the role of experimental activities in Czech schools, their options, helpful equipment and generally inquiry-based teaching. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the verification of the proposed research activity in comparison with traditionally concieved experimental activity. The traditionally concieved activity was taken from the website of the company Vernier, the research activity was created by modifying these tasks. The proposed research activity consists of two logically connected tasks. The aim of this thesis was to design and verify research activity based on experimental activities and to compare the internal motivation of pupils in performing research-oriented and clasically concieved activities. The pupils worked in groups that were created based on the pupils' preferred themes. For comparison purposes, the groups were divided into two research halves and each half used a different approach. The Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI) and group conversation were used to evaluate the affective area. The benefit in the cognitive area...
Mate choice based on olfactory imprinting-like effect
Kuncová, Lucie ; Havlíček, Jan (advisor) ; Špinka, Marek (referee)
Previous studies have shown that women choose partners resembling their fathers in various characteristics. However, none of the studies have focused on woman's father-partner body odour similarity, even though body odour plays an important role in mate choice. The main aim of our study was to test whether the woman's father and partner body odour is similar and whether the rating of this similarity was affected by the body odour's intensity and pleasantness. Further, we wanted to know whether the quality of woman's relationship with her father during her childhood influences the body odour similarity. We also tested the effect of woman's father-partner body odour similarity on sexual and relationship satisfaction. Twenty-five women with their fathers and partners participated in the study. Every respondent completed a set of questionnaires, in addition, fathers and partners provided samples of their body odours. Body odour similarity was rated by independent female raters (N=128). According to the results of our study, body odour of woman's father and partner is significantly similar. The body odour was also similar in intensity and pleasantness. The quality of woman's relationship with her father does not affect woman's father-partner body odour similarity. Nevertheless, this similarity...
