Changes in Japan-South Korea Relations in the Context of the Current Trade War
Protasevičová, Alexandra ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Parízek, Michal (referee)
This thesis examines the trade war between South Korea and Japan, which began in the summer of 2019. The dispute has a complex history that partly explains the inevitability of the conflict: Japan is still coming to terms with its colonial past, while South Korea is struggling to forgive the war crimes it committed and is waiting for an official apology. Despite the long- standing disagreements between the two countries, South Korea and Japan remain key allies of the US, which is watching the whole trade war with great concern, especially because of the potential danger from North Korea, which confirms the global impact of this trade war. It is thus in the best interests of the United States to resolve the conflict quickly. Crucially, both Japan and South Korea are using the dispute to adopt hostile historicism as a key resource in the political game: using it to legitimize their own objectives. The aim of this thesis will therefore be to answer the question of what preceded the trade war between South Korea and Japan and what are the reasons for the deterioration of bilateral relations. Another question is how the conflict can be resolved and whether the United States can directly influence it. This paper is based on the hypothesis that the trade war between Japan and South Korea is directly...
The Impact of Neoliberal Reforms on Latin American Population
Feťko, Jozef ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
Neoliberalism evokes strong reactions in the minds of both its proponents and detractors. With the so-called second Pink Tide washing over Latin America recently and the growing rejection of the legacy of neoliberalism in countries like Chile, many academics have started proclaiming it dead and outlived. Yet there are still those who defend its legacy and claim it should have gone much further. This thesis critically engages with these arguments using both theoretical and empirical arguments that point to the inherent contradictions baked in the neoliberal theory, its flawed assumptions, as well as the high social costs that neoliberal reforms inflict on the populations affected by them. Additionally, it explores the historical development of neoliberalism during the Pinochet rule and its transformation after the 1982 crisis in Chile, which has famously been called the "lab of neoliberalism" and was long used as a model for economic development by many mainstream economists and international financial institutions.
Prioritization of the Chairman's Roles in the European Union: A Comparison of the Behaviour of the 2022 French and Czech Presidencies in the Field of Environmental Policy
Moserová, Natálie ; Karlas, Jan (advisor) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
The roles played by Council presidencies are a pertinent area to study, yet it has been insufficiently explored. The Czech Republic has recently experienced its second presidency in the Council which ended in December 2022. It has followed the French presidency, the first state of the same trio. This gives us a unique occasion to study the prioritization of chairman's roles by comparing the behaviour of these two members of one trio presidency presidencies at all levels of the Council for Environment. The legislative files in environmental area were intensively negotiated during the French and Czech presidencies, especially the "Fit for 55" package. Based on the theories on specific activities connected to each role of presidency (political leader, mediator, manager and representant), we analyse these roles and the way by which the consecutive French and Czech presidencies have played them in environmental field. We compare the role prioritization of these chairmen based on the weight attached to individual roles (except for the representant role) by the presidencies. A complementary part of the thesis investigates diverse factors derived from the rationalist approach (the power of the country, the approach to environmental policy, French presidential elections) and sociological approach...
Comparison of Europeanization in the field of justice and interior in Moldova and Ukraine
Palkovský, Adam ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Martinková, Viera (referee)
This diploma thesis examines the theoretical concept of Europeanization in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The ambition of this thesis is to compare the relative levels of Europeanisation in the field of justice and home affairs in Moldova and Ukraine and then place it in the context of the Russian aggression. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether both countries were sufficiently Europeanised prior to receiving candidate status, or whether this EU move was solely a reaction to Russian aggression. Europeanisation theory was chosen because it examines a process that is crucial for EU accession. In this case, it was defined as the degree of approximation of national legislations to the EU acquis in the field of justice and home affairs. The integration process is a natural response of states to external threats, but also an opportunity for economic integration and shared prosperity. This thesis therefore examines the motivations, but also the obstacles, that shape the bilateral relations between the EU and the countries aspiring to EU membership. Last but not least, it places the results of the analytical part of the thesis in a broader context and subjects them to a critical discussion in order to determine whether the granting of candidate status to...
A Comparison of migration crises of the European Union in 2015 and 2022 in terms of "push" and "pull" effects - A Comparative case study of migration trends
Fiala, Tomáš ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Földes, Kristián (referee)
in English The waves of migration from Syria in 2015 and from Ukraine in 2022 significantly affected the number of people who applied for asylum or temporary protection in the EU. In this work, these migration waves are compared through a pre-selected framework of the so- called "neoclassical theory" which operates on the basis of rational decision-making about migration as an "economic" calculation of risks, advantages and disadvantages (so-called "push" and "pull" factors and "intervening obstacles"). Through comparison, the work tries to answer the questions of the similarity of the two migration waves and, through their analysis, at the same time, the question of whether these waves influenced the Migration and Asylum Policy of the EU as such. Despite certain similarities in the political aspects of the comparison, the similarity of the two waves was not confirmed, however, a shift in the creation of the EU migration policy framework after the migration wave in 2015 was also confirmed.

v Abstract Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient diagnosed with total knee arthroplasty Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to elaborate the theoretical knowledge on the diagnosis of total knee arthroplasty. Furthermore, to elaborate a case study of a patient with the given diagnosis and to evaluate the effect of used physiotherapeutic methods and procedures. Methods: The case study consists of the initial kinesiological analysis, ten therapies, oucome kinesiological analysis and short-term and long-term therapeutic plans. For the examination and therapies, procedures and methods are used within the scope of knowledge of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy of UK FTVS. All these procedures are non-invasive. At the end of the thesis, the results and effect of the therapies are evaluated and the use of each method and procedure is compared with the literature mentioned in the theoretical part of the thesis. Results: The result of the therapeutic intervention was an improvement in the patient's health condition, achieving full self-sufficiency and, above all, successful elimination of subjective difficulties. A detailed summary of the partial results can be found in the chapter Evaluation of the effect of physiotherapy care. Key words: total knee arthroplasty, alloplasty, gonarthrosis,...

Hlomayi, Belinda Yeukai ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Kučerová, Ilona (referee)
Effectivity of Combined Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation Rehabilitation Approach on Gait post Stroke Abstract Background: this review is assessing the effectiveness of combing forms of rhythmic auditory stimulation (a form of neurologic music therapy) to commonly used physiotherapeutic methods in the treatment of gait for hemiplegic/paresis stroke patients. Aim: to evaluate the extent in which Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) combined therapy has a positive effect on gait for stroke patients, and whether RAS combined therapy is a more effective approach than conventional physiotherapeutic approaches. Methods: Databases Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Pubmed and Science Direct were searched. All databases were searched using a publication year range from 2009- 2022. Studies accepted were either Randomized Control Trials, Clinical Control Trails or Case Control Studies, evaluating RAS combined therapy versus conventional physiotherapeutic methods for Hemiplegic/paresis stroke patients. The outcome measures evaluated were gait and balance ability, according to spatiotemporal gait parameters and balance or lower extremity function assessments. Data was extracted according to PRISMA guidelines as well as with the help of a reference manager. The studies were analysed for risk of bias according to...
