Bridging the Gap: Towards Unified Approach to Perfect and Imperfect Information Games
Moravčík, Matej ; Hladík, Milan (advisor) ; Pilarski, Patrick (referee) ; Kroupa, Tomáš (referee)
From the onset of AI research, games have played an important part, serving as a benchmark for progress in artificial intelligence. Recent approaches using search in combination with learning from self-play have shown strong performance and the ability to generalize across a wide range of perfect information games. In contrast, the leading algorithms for imperfect information traditionally used a small, abstract version of a game and solved this abstraction in one go. This thesis introduces a chain of improvements for imperfect information algorithms that culminates in two significant milestones that helped bridge the gap between perfect and imperfect information games. The first milestone is DeepStack - the first agent that successfully used a combination of sound search and a learned value function in imperfect information games. This led to the first AI to achieve victory over human professional players in no-limit poker. The second milestone is Player of Games - a universal algorithm that can master both perfect and imperfect information games starting from scratch. 1

Kroupa, Tomáš ; RNDr. et RNDr. Vladimír Mazálek, PhD., DBA (referee) ; Štěpánková, Vladěna (advisor)
The main objective of this bachelor thesis is the design and preparation of documentation CSN EN ISO 9001: 2009, ISO 14001: 2005, OHSAS 18001: 2007 and ISO 27001:2012 for the company providing services in the field of integrated security technologies. The thesis describes quality management systems, environmental management, management of health and work safety and information security management. The work contains a proposal for an integrated management system, management responsibility, resource management and produc t realization and management services, including documentation and implementation of the proposed improvements. The work includes a proposal for the use of IT in the company. Finally, they calculated the cost of implementation and the subsequent savings.
Software architecture of open government
Kroupa, Tomáš ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Chlapek, Dušan (referee)
Public administration owns a large amount of information, whose value is not utilized yet. An application of Open Data and Linked Data principles could enable not only to effectively publish this information, but also to exploit the value. The aim of this thesis is to analyse contemporary situation, assess and debate the barriers and also suggest the solutions for application of the principles in the Public Administration of The Czech Republic.
Klíč - Prague 11 township herald from 1993 to 2008
Kroupa, Tomáš ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Kocourková, Lucie (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Klíč - Prague 11 township herald from 1993 to 2008" is focused on a local printed herald issued by the township of Prague 11. The list has been published since 1993 and it contains a variety of information provided by the local town hall who is also an issuer of the list. Using a quantitative analysis a representative sample from years 1993 to 2008 was researched. Main goal of the research was to find out how the list evolves and on which scale the list informs about selected topics. The bachelor thesis describes local heralds overall, one chapter is specifically dedicated to the history of local printed heralds in Prague. Thesis also mentions and compares local heralds of other Prague townships neighboring Prague 11.
On attempts to characterize facet-defining inequalities of the cone of exact games
Studený, Milan ; Kroupa, Tomáš ; Kratochvíl, Václav
The sets of balanced, totally balanced, exact and supermodular games play an important role in cooperative game theory. These sets of games are known to be polyhedral cones. The (unique) non-redundant description of these cones by means of the so-called facet-defining inequalities is known in cases of balanced games and supermodular games, respectively. The facet description of the cones of exact games and totally balanced games are not known and we present conjectures about what are the facet-defining inequalities for these cones. We introduce the concept of an irreducible min-balanced set system and conjecture that the facet-defining inequalities for the cone of totally balanced games correspond to these set systems. The conjecture concerning exact games is that the facet-defining inequalities for this cone are those which correspond to irreducible min-balanced systems on strict subsets of the set of players and their conjugate inequalities. A consequence of the validity of the conjectures would be a novel result saying that a game m is exact if and only if m and its reflection are totally balanced.
Algorithmic complexity of solution concepts in selected classes of non-cooperative games
Wichera, Adam ; Majer, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kroupa, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Algorithmic complexity of solution concepts in selected classes of non-cooperative games Author: Adam Wichera Department: Department of Logic Supervisor: RNDr. Ondřej Majer, CSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: majer@ u.cas.cz Abstract In the presented work we study natural algorthmic problems rising from the concept of Nash Equilibrium. The problem of it's existence is trivial, because it follows from Nash The- orem of completeness of Nash Equilibria. Even related search problem doesn't seem to belong to NP-complete class, the reason being the very fact, that existence of Nash Equilibria is certain. Interesting observation is that every natural extension of this problem seems to be NP-complete. Many of such problems have been proven to be NP-complete through reduction of SAT problem, Klike problem or problem of searching subcover of certain size. The question, wheather the pro- blem of existence of assymmetric Nash equilibria of symmeric game ts with the others, in being NP-complete, has been an open problem. Here we show how to alternate the proof from [? ] and apply the construction to problem of existence of assymetric equilibria and therefore prove its NP-completness. Keywords: Nash equilibrium, Algorithmic complexity, Non-cooperative games, Game Theory, Assymetric equilibria, 1
Journalists and source protection in motion pictures
Kroupa, Tomáš ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Wolák, Radim (referee)
This diploma thesis named "Journalists and source protection in motion pictures" focuses on investigative journalists pictured in movies that have originated in Anglo-American language and cultural area. Analyzed are such movies that either have been filmed or have had their opening night in last three decades of the twentieth century or the first decade of twenty first century. From 1970s decade there is one movie analyzed while from all the other decades there are always two movies were being taken into analysis. Theoretical part of this thesis consists first of all of all necessary terms followed by several chapters about history of investigative journalism in English speaking countries. Several important personas and events from the area of investigative journalism from the twentieth century are also mentioned. Political movies from 1960s and 1970s are also briefly mentioned at this point. Briefly discussed are also principles of qualitative analysis method and necessary assumptions. Within the practical part of this thesis every movie is described and analyzed. Specific qualitative analysis method is the same in case of all the analyzed movies and results are discussed in specific subchapters by the same structure so all movies can be easily compared and cross-analyzed. Detailed descriptions...
