The application of bankruptcy and solvency models on companies in insolvency proceedings

This bachelor thesis elaborates the application of seven bankruptcy and three solvency models on six companies. All of the companies are in insolvency proceedings. The theoretical part concerns with description of the models. The practical part is focused on the results of the models applied on companies and rating information capability of the models. The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate successfulness of information capability of the models and assess the convenience of their usage.

The work of Strategic analysis of the brewery Primator, a.s. shows the theoretical ways, that should help to find strategic and finantial position of the company in the terms of the branch and the company itself. These ways are switched into the practice of the brewing branch in the practical part of the work. This part contains the specification of the branch's structure, analysis of the competitiveness, analysis of the internal resources a abilities of the company and the final SWOT analysis, which should help Primator to define its market strategic position.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine the market value of the company Westvaco Svitavy s. r. o. to the date 31. 12. 2009 for sale to an unknown buyer. In the practical part, after a brief introduction of the company followed by strategic analysis, which results in setting the pace of sales growth. In contrast, financial analysis, assessment of the financial health and stability of society through absolute, ratio, differential and global indicators. Followed by a financial plan, which was worked on between 2009 - 2012. In conclusion, the company is evaluated using two - stage method of discounted cash flow in the version of FCFF. As complementary methods were used financial value and economic value added.

Odhad hodnoty podniku METROSTAV, a.s.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine the market value of the company Metrostav a.s. to the date 1.1.2009. Final market value represents the potential market price for which the owners could sell this company to the date of evaluation. The diploma thesis starts with brief introduction of the company. Afterwards strategic analysis follows which is focused on analysis of profit potential and its result is the prediction of sales in the near future. In financial analysis are examined the financial conditions of the company on the basis of absolute, ratio and global indicators. Financial plan is based on the prediction of sales, which was estimated within strategic analysis. The company is evaluated using two-phase discounted cash flow method in the version of FCFF. The diploma thesis is ended by risk analysis of assessment value of company by using software program Crystal Ball.

The valuation of the company

The goal of thesis is to determine the value of the company Iveco Czech Republic, a.s. for yet unknown buyer to 31.12.2009. The practical part consists of strategic analysis, financial analysis of the company statements from years 2004-2008, financial plan for 2009-2012 and the valuation. For the valuation book value, DCF method (FCFF and discounted EVA in the form of two-phase model) are used.
