Ježek, Marek ; Kobliha, Pavel (advisor) ; Brabec, Petr (referee)
Today, smoking is one of the most common causes of ill-health or death which can be prevented. This applies both to active smokers as well as to their environment (the so called passive smokers). A topical question then arises as to whether there is any way of effective prevention. The thesis aims to analyse the methods and impacts of state regulations on smoking. Several state interventions such as excise tax, prohibition of smoking on public spaces and prohibition of advertisement will be selected for measurment purposes. First of all, the number of smokers (in terms of sex, age and education) will be established, followed by morbidity and mortality rates before and after state interventions between 2004 and 2013. The collected data will serve as the basis for the representation of the total annual state income. I will also investigate whether it is more convenient for the State to invest into prevention measures or rather into subsequent treatment for smokers. Finally, by virtue of the collected information, I will asses the investigated state interventions and try to identify one that is most convenient both for the State and the population.

This Bachelor thesis is preoccupied of a problem with connecting between social and health care for elderly people in the Czech Republic from 2000 to the present. Social-health care system implementation is justifiable because of the ageing population process caused by improvements in health care. The aim of this thesis to evaluate the social-health care system for elderly people. Moreover the thesis is focused on, how to improve the mentioned social-health care system, where to find an inspiration and what has to be solved to make more efficient and high-quality in the future. The institutional care is still being preferred rather than home care or field and ambulatory services in the Czech Republic. However probably the most natural and efficient is a family care for elderly people. In the system of social-health care of elderly people, the social services are the most problematic, but also the most essential. The integration of social-health care system should provide flexibility and continuity as well as accessibility of services that are mainly provided to the elderly people in their home environment in the first place. The institutional care should be provided only if necessary. The thesis conclusion summarizes the actual situation at the social-health care system, specify and point out the possible changes they could be made as well as places for improvement.

The aims of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the health care reform in the United States from the year 2010 and to answer the following questions, which also represented the objectives of the reform. Did the Affordable Care Act help to reduce the percentage of residents without health insurance? Did the health insurance become more affordable? Did the act contribute to the reduction of the health care expenditure? After answering these questions I should be able to determine to what extent where the objectives fullfiled. The theoretical part of this work is dedicated to the character of the health care system in the United States and problems related to that, which led to the need to reform the current system. Further, the attention is being paid to the Affordable Care Act. In the practical part the data of chosen indicators are being observed. The main indicators are the percentage of the residents without the health insurance, the price of the health insurance and the total health expenditure. Hopefully, I will be able to find a long run trend of chosen indicators from the database in the period before the reform, which can be compared with the indicators' development after the reform.
