The Young and Their Lifestyle. Questionnaire Survey among High School Students.

The aim of the submitted diploma thesis was to assess the attitudes of the secondary school students to the use of medicaments and the abuse of legal and illegal drugs and, at the same time, to assess a possible connexion with the psychical problems occurring in Opava region. The study forms a part of an international project monitoring young people's lifestyle in Europe. It was performed with the help of anonymous questionnaires, which were taken over from the Italian university degli Studi Camerino. In total 135 students of the third and fourth years of the grammar schools in Vítkov and Opava participated in this study during the school year 2006/2007. Out of them, there were 70.4 % of girls and 29.6 % of boys. Their average age was 17.6 years. Students consider the recreation use of illegal drugs the most dangerous way of behaviour, whereas the smoking and the drinking of alcohol were considered the least dangerous activities. In total 91.1 % of students used some medicaments during the last year, mostly analgesics and medicaments against infection. Almost 15 % select medicaments on their own. Attitudes and experiences of the university students with drugs of abuse

The aim of this thesis was to state results and conclusions of the drug problems' study. The survey background was a questionnaire distributed among 3rdgrade students of Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University. The survey was realized in the winter term of the university year 2006/2007. There were 200 respondents (82.5 % women, 17.5 % men) in the studied group, at the average age of 21.9 years. Almost all of respondents were of Czech nationality, as well as respondents' parents. Students have considered the drugs usage the most dangerous behavior related to addictive substances. Drinking alcohol and smoking have been more tolerated by them. Two thirds of respondents have smoked at least once. The first students' experience with smoking was dated to the period from 14 to 16 years. The experience with smoking has been found statistically significant in association with using illegal substances. There have been 30.0 % of present smokers; the most of them have smoked only occasionally (45.5 %). Daily usage of cigarettes has not passed over 20 cigarettes. Monitoring of the Use of Addictive Substances in Students and Clients at Contact Centres

The aim of this thesis was to monitor the situation in the field of addictive substance usage among problem drug users and university students, to analyze opinions and attitudes of the participants on/towards this problems and to assess the amount of both legal and illegal substances usage by them. A questionnaire was used for this research; it was distributed to clients of contact centres in the Region of Zlín and to students of the University Hradec Králové, Thomas Bata Univesity in Zlín, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic and University of Camerino in Italy. 186 clients and 1339 students have participated in this survey. The most important conclusions of this work are following: 1. Alcohol and nicotine usage is widespread both in the population of regular drug users (47.8% of the respondents smoke regularly and 38.7% of them drink alcohol at least several times a week) and among students (39.4% of the Czech students and 46.6% of the Italian ones smoke at least rarely; 21.0% of the Czechs and 23.6% of the Italians drink alcohol at least several times a week).
