European and Czech Atomic Law in the Context of Energetic Law and Enviornmental Law (Rennaissance or Declaine) Abstract This dissertation thesis deals with recent developments in atomic law in the Czech Republic, the European Union and in international field. In the Czech Republic, the new Act No. 263/2016 Coll., The Atomic Act, which became a public codex of atomic law, is a legislation that encompasses nuclear safety, radiation protection, radioactive waste management, shipments of nuclear materials and other radioactive sources, security of nuclear materials and nuclear facilities, radiation emergency management, radiation monitoring and non- proliferation of nuclear weapons. Atomic Act replaced the old Act No. 18/1997 Coll. in which only civil liability for nuclear damage remained in force. At European Union level, a serious development can be observed lately, when new directives have been adopted to regulate radioactive waste management, nuclear safety and radiation protection. Recently, the Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage and the Annex to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material has entered into force internationally. Legal status of an arbitrator

- Legal Status of an Arbitrator Main aim of this thesis is to describe the legal status of an arbitrator in international and national arbitration. Arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution which is nowadays very frequently used and which has been established in Czech Republic by Arbitration Act. Arbitrator is the most important person in arbitration because he leads the trial and makes binding and enforceable decisions. Thesis is divided into six parts which concern about alternative dispute resolutions, about arbitration generally, historical evolution of legal status of an arbitrator in Czech Republic, current legislation, legal status of an arbitrator and permanent arbitration courts and legal status of a financial arbitrator. The merit of this thesis is to grasp main problems which arise on the field of legal status of an arbitrator and describe the approach of courts and legal experts. Paper also contains comparison with the legal system of Slovakia, Germany and the United Kingdom and incorporates the latest amendments. of Arbitration Act.

Legal Aspects of the Extension of Temelín Nuclear Power Plant

The aim of this thesis is to describe the legal aspects of the process of extension of Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. Thesis deals with administrative procedures that the future operator needs to go through. In particular, thesis deals for example with the procedure arranged at The Atomic Act, The Construction Act or The Environmental Impact Assessment Act. Thesis concerns with the strategic and other conceptual documents which treats with the extension of this nuclear power plant. Not least contains complex chapter about possible public participation on the whole process of extension. Thesis includes also the comparison with the similar processes in France, Japan, Germany, Slovakia and The United States of America. At the last chapters thesis also deals with the connected issues like civil liability for nuclear damage, radioactive waste management or with the safeguards system. Thesis also reflects the possible future development and recent judicial decisions and legal amendments. The chapters related to The Atomic Act, also contains references to the draft of the new Atomic Act.

Swiss semi-direct democracy: a model for imitation?

Main aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe Swiss semi-direct political system. Thesis proceeds from general topics - what are the differences between direct and representative democracy, what is semi-direct democracy and what the typical instruments of direct democracy are. It also describes the Swiss political system, which is currently the only functioning system that can be described as semi-direct democracy. The work deals with the functioning of the highest authorities, the Swiss party system and federalism and how the individual institutes and institutions influence elements of direct democracy. The core of the paper is focused on the functioning of the semi-direct democracy in Switzerland at federal, cantonal and local level. Thesis describes the evolution of Swiss semi-direct democracy and how it is regulated nowadays. The work also incorporates some statistical data about participation of Swiss citizens, usage of individual instruments and also describes conditions which are necessary for acceptance decisions through direct democracy process. Thesis also contains comparison with other countries, the European Union and the Czech Republic and gives some conclusions on the applicability of Swiss system of semi-direct democracy abroad.
