Directive on environmental liability with regard to the prevention and remedying of environmental damage and transposition in the Czech legal system

The subject of my master thesis is the EU directive 2004/35 on environmental responsibility, prevention and damage redress, its implementation into the legal order of the Czech Republic and the potential impact of undue transposition of the directive. The first part of my thesis deals with the harmonization need in this area and with the directive itself. Following a brief introduction of the directive, I'm presenting an overview of its basic institutes and their legal form. I'm also making an effort at identifying possible shortcomings of the directive. The basic institutes of the directive include: key principles, the environmental damage itself, operational activity, responsibility mechanisms, financial safeguards and the administrative procedure to impose a preventive or a remedial provisions. The second part of my thesis deals with the theoretical aspects of appropriate implementation, such as the interpretation of the directive, a timely adoption of the transposition provisions, proper projection of the content of the directive, due form of the transposition provisions, the application of EU norms, the equivalence and effectiveness imperative and the internal Czech rules for the implementation of EU norms that have been laid down by the governmental provision Nr. 1304 (methodological directions). Labour Party in Scotland and Wales - comparative analysis

The thesis presents a comparative analysis of the Scottish and Welsh Labour Party's position. The work is focuses on the change of regional party's branches after devolution, which the Labour Party introduced in 1999. At the decentralized level was created a new devolved institution, a new party system and a new electoral system, which has brought the possibility of coalition government. These changes were meant a big challenge for the party. The party must adapt to new conditions and change access to regional affiliates. The changes are analyzed according to the theoretical framework created by J. Hopkin and supplemented by the theory of Laffin, Shaw and Taylor. Areas of party activities are being explored, such as election of candidates, electoral and governmental strategies, election leaders, organization and party financing, and party status in a party system based on elections to the Westminster and Regional Parliament or National Assembly. The thesis briefly describes history of the Labour Party and its organization, which is necessary for analysis after devolutional position of the party. There is briefly described the devolution itself in the British environment and the emergence and system of newly established legislative institutions, including the electoral system.

This thesis deals with the Office of the First Lady of the United States of America, which reports directly to the office of the President of the United States. The main subject of work is the analysis of the institution of the first ladies including models for the study, political activities and concept of the Office. Whereas that the formation of the office has a direct influence personality of the First Lady, the thesis also deals with the typology of the first ladies USA, their obligations and possible participation in presidential campaign of her husband. Next part of the thesis is summary of basic development of the institution. The last part of thesis is the description of the current office, which Michelle Obama manages, and includes the organizational structure, staff and budget of the Office.
What is the 'Facebook revolution'? Use of Social Media for Political Protest: Egypt 2011

This dissertation closely looks at the role of social media during the uprisings in the Arab world in 2011 that broke out in a number of Arab countries. In the thesis, an example of the Egyptian protests is used. An analysis of the usage of social media during the protests serves as a clear illustration how new media platforms subjugate traditional forms of media. This dissertation focuses on describing the power of the Internet and discovers the other aspects which played a significant role during the revolution. The dissertation uses an established social movement theories, communication theories and ideas of community, to place its use within a wider context and to explain the inherent characteristics of social media that made it appealing to the activists in Egypt. Finally, also to be pointed out, is the connection between the power of the social media and social power, when for the first time in history, the Internet facilitated the virtual relationship between people with very different profiles, but with a common objective. The nursing care of the patient after Arthroscopy of the shoulder

The theoretical part describes the history of orthopaedics development, the anatomy of the shoulder joint, clinical examination of the shoulder joint, injuries divided into the shoulder joint bones fractures and other injuries of the shoulder joint and the arthroscopy itself. This part is followed by the description of the client's needs in the postoperative period, which include self-sufficiency; furthermore the client's pain and the rehabilitation after surgery. The practical part is focused on clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint and nurses attending to clients after the procedure. The thesis was compiled as a qualitative research. The technique of data collection was carried out using a semi-structured interview. The research part included three research questions. Based on these questions, we examined the role of nurses in the care of clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. Furthermore, the negative factors most clients perceive after the surgery and what the specifics of nursing care for clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint are analysed. The aim of the thesis was to investigate the role of nurses in the care for clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. The most important tasks include education of clients before the procedure and during the hospitalization. The preoperative preparation consists of the explanation of the informed consent to the client, the preparation of the surgical field, legs bandaging, the management of preoperative examinations and the administration of the prescribed medication Other objectives were to determine the specifics of nursing care for the clients after arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. The specifics of nursing care reported by the nurses themselves including checking the blood circulation and peripheral sensitivity of the operated upper limb, shimming the operated arm, increased need for hygiene in the armpit of the operated extremity. The third objective was to identify the problems perceived by the clients after the arthroscopy of the shoulder joint. The main problems perceived by the clients included pain. Furthermore, they mentioned the lack of privacy, discomfort in association with the selected fixation and the lack of information about the need for the fixation system. The answers from clients and the nurses were divided into individual categories and then compared in the interaction between the nurse and the client.

Intercultural communication mediated by a PR agency

This diploma thesis aims to describe comprehensive processes of intercultural communication in a Czech PR agency. The agency's mediation activity is seen in a broader context - not only as the one of a mere intermediary supplying translation and interpreting services provided by local third-party subcontractors, but the one of an active element that co-creates and completes the final shape of these products and services. First of all, we are going to introduce our topic in the context of the existing research made in translation studies, media studies and marketing communications theory. The empirical part of this thesis consists of a case study of a selected Czech PR agency. We used qualitative methods in order to gain data enabling to describe communications processes heading from the client, i.e. a foreign company (seen as the author and primary contracting entity), through the agency (the manipulator) to the translator, and then back to the agency and through its mediation to the primary recipients, i.e. Czech mass media. Besides the description of these processes, subsequently summarized in several basic models, we will also focus on the form of the intercultural communications products, as well as the norms that govern their form. Reeducation of dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysortographia at the 1st grade of primary school

This master thesis deals with the problems of Specific Learning Difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysorthography that show especially in the Czech language. The theoretical part concentrates on the personality of the student with Specific Learning Difficulties. It explains the term "Specific Learning Difficulties". The difficulties (mentioned above) and their symptoms are defined there too. It focuses on the aetiology of Specific Learning Difficulties, their diagnostics and re-educational principles. It also contains a short chapter about sense perception which is closely related to the re-education of Specific Learning Difficulties. The practical part offers the list of re-educational tools, methods and activities for the re-education of dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysorthography. This list is supplemented by the set of worksheets that can be used for example during the correction of Specific Learning Difficulties.
