Jelínek, Tomáš ; Novotný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the repair of a steam backpressure single-stage turbine. This thesis is assigned to a specific Spilling turbine case. A revisional report of this turbine with repair or exchange suggestions of demaged turbine parts is processed. In addition, a simulation of the contact pressure is carried out on the split plane of the housing. Structural modifications are designed and simulated to increase the parting plane's tightness. Further, the calculation of the tightening torque of the split plane is performed and a control thermodynamic and strength calculation of the labyrinth seals is performed.

Abstract Title: Comparison of criteria for selection of rowers for senior national rowing teams in the Czech Republic and other countries Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create an inspirational resource for rowing coaches based on the analysis and comparison of nomination criteria for the selection of rowers for national teams in the Czech Republic and other countries in senior categories. Methods: The thesis is structured as an overview study, using the methods of content analysis and comparison. The aim is to synthesize existing data in order to make the information more comprehensive. We have set ergometer tests (land tests) and water tests as the parameters of observation, which are required for nomination to the national teams of U23 and senior national teams of the selected countries. Results: The study showed the difference in nomination criteria for senior national teams of the selected countries. It was found that in the selected countries that were compared, elite rowers in the U23 and senior categories can be nominated to the national teams primarily on the basis of the 2000 metres or 6000 metres ergometer tests or water tests. Conclusion: The study showed the difference in nomination criteria for senior national teams of the selected countries. It was found that in the selected...
Automated machining in CAM systems
Jelínek, Tomáš ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the possibilities of machining using CAM systems automation. For modeling components such as holders, clamps and sample parts was used software CATIA V5R20 by Dassault Systmes. These samples were subsequently used to demonstrate the automation capabilities in PowerMill Ultimate 2022 by Autodesk. The automation program is consists of created tool database, templates with machining strategy and developed macros. A technical and economic evaluation was performed by comparing programming times of the program with and without using of the created elements of automation.
Social networks and surviving the Holocaust
Bělín, M. ; Jelínek, T. ; Jurajda, Štěpán
Survivor testimonies link survival in deadly POW camps, Gulags, and Nazi concentration camps to the formation of close friendships with other prisoners. We provide statistical evidence consistent with these fundamentally selective testimonies. We study the survival of the 140 thousand Jews who entered the Theresienstadt ghetto, where 33 thousand died and from where over 80 thousand were sent to extermination camps. We ask whether an individual’s social status prior to deportation, and the availability of potential friends among fellow prisoners influenced the risk of death in Theresienstadt, the ability to avoid transports to the camps, and the chances of surviving Auschwitz. Pre-deportation social status protected prisoners in the self-administered society of the Theresienstadt ghetto, but it was no longer helpful in the extreme conditions of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Relying on multiple proxies of pre-existing social networks, we uncover a significant survival advantage to entering Auschwitz with a group of potential friends.
The conceptandlegalconsequencesofthetransgressionofthelimitsofself-defenceand necessity
Jelínek, Tomáš ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor) ; Bohuslav, Lukáš (referee)
The presented diploma thesis deals with the concepts of self-defence and necessity and their position as legal institutions within the framework of the Czech criminal law, as well as the consequences of the transgression of their limits as defined by the legislation. Both self-defence and necessity are categorised among the circumstances precluding lia- bility and share the essence of creating a legal scope under which the regular addressees of the legal norms are allowed to defend their own interests or interests of the society as a whole, provided that the interests in question are themselves protected by the legal system. Such defence is generally permissible in the situations of immediate unavailabi- lity of an intervention from the side of a public authority, or in the cases when such re- action would be severely delayed to the point of ineffectiveness. It is for this reason that the aforementioned legal institutions enable specific forms of behaviour which would be considered reprehensible, and thus sanctionable by law under the regular circumstances. The objective of this thesis is to first provide an analysis of the boundaries of le- gality of behaviour under self-defense and necessity according to the current state of the legislation both in the strict sense, i.e. by interpreting the...
