Development of the SPD between the reunification of Germany and 2005

This master thesis focuses on the development of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) between the years 1990 and 2005. At the beginning of this period, Germany was reunited. At the end, the coalition government of the SPD and the Greens came to its end and the SPD lost the office of the Chancellor. The first chapter of this thesis summarizes the post- war development of the SPD, which is crucial for better understanding of the events after the year 1990. The following chapters are, in accordance with the election period focused on the period of 1990 - 2005. The main focus of this thesis are the important phenomena which were linked to the SPD during the analysed period. Attention is paid to the debates within the party regarding economic, social and foreign policy or personnel issues. The main program documents of the SPD from the years 1990 - 2005 are analysed. All the mentioned information is summarised and interpreted.

Comparison of the KSČM and Die Linke in terms of un/acceptability of their participation on the national government

This thesis focused on the question of the acceptability possibly unacceptability of Czech political party KSČM and the German political party Die Linke in terms of their participation in the national government. The paper describes attitudes of important and key stakeholders for this issue. That means attitudes inside of the researched parties, attitudes within social democratic parties in the Czech Republic and in Germany and the attitudes of other relevant parties in both above mentioned states. Subsequently, the results of this analysis are compared. Researched period begins in 2002 in the case of KSČM when the elections to the Chamber of Deputies were held in the Czech Republic and in the case of Die Linke since 2005 when there were elections to the Bundestag in Germany. The development is analyzed until 2014. The last peak of the analyze are the elections to the lower chambers of the Czech and German parliament which were both held in the fall of 2013. During the researched period it seemed several times that the conditions are relatively positive for the participation of KSČM or Die Linke in the national government, either directly or indirectly. Division in the social-democratic movement in Austria-Hungary in the 80s in the 19th century

This bachelor thesis focuses on the division in the social-democratic movement in Austria- Hungary in the '80s of the 19th century. The programmatic documents of the party are analyzed from the point of view of controversial points of the division. The workers movement was split into groups of moderates and radicals. These groups polemized about tactics, which would lead to the achievement of goals of proletariat. The goals were the same for both groups, change to classless society and collectivization of production. There are programmatic documents putting an end to the division examined as well. First of they are all looked into from the points of view, whether they are closer connected with perspectives of moderates or radicals.
