Possibilities of using modern methods in manufacturing of prototype castings focused to combination of RP and investment casting
Sysel, Karel ; Kosour, Vojtěch (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is to close the possibilities of modern foundry industry and demonstrate that nowadays it isn’t only about production of inaccurate casts, which were products of a lengthy industrial processes and testing of the new casting moulds. So that the thesis is concentrate on possibilities of the Rapid Prototyping Technologies and investment casting, because especially combination of them gets a new possibilities and direction to the modern foundry industry.
Survey of applications of investment casting from non-ferrous alloys
Tučková, Eva ; Mikulka, Vít (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is research, which is focused on the theme of application of castings manufactured by technology investment casting of non-ferrous alloys, namely aluminum, magnesium and titanium, in various industries. The individual chapters describe the properties of pure metals, sorting and properties of foundry alloys and particular applications.
Optimization of wax pattern technology in the company Fimes
Žuja, Jaroslav ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This thesis is to evaluate currently used wax and compare its properties with of newly purchased one. Further, it is to evaluate whether the quality is reflected by using "boiled wax'', which is being used as a runner wax. All tests were carried out at the Fimes a. s. In the first part of this thesis, there is a brief description of the lost wax method. This is followed by a decription of wax blends from technology point of view. The experimental part describes the operations from the production of wax patterns, through their dimensional inspection, up until dewaxing process. All the results are noted and compared.
Present state of investment casting technology - wax patterns
Procházka, Zdeněk ; Helán, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The subject dealt with in the bachelor degree thesis covers technology of investment casting with a special focus to the problem of wax patterns. Based on expert analysis, this case study focuses on the most advanced facilities and materials used for this particular phase of technology as well as basic methods of wax materials testing.
Possibilities of using aditive technologies in direct manufacturing of foundry moulds
Herzán, Jiří ; Šlajs, Jan (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the production of foundry molds with using additive technologies. At first, the additive technologies are distributed according to ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and subsequently according to the state of the base material. Then, three types of technologies, that can be manufactured by Rapid Prototyping are described. The last chapter of the bachelor thesis is a real example of the production of a prototype fan casting from aluminum alloy AlSi9Cu3(Fe), which was casted into a printed mold by “3D Sand Printing” technology. Based on the obtained data were assessed technical, time and cost parameters of manufacturing the fan. The findings were compared with the molding technology of the ordinary printed pattern, which is an alternative to prototype production. The casting of the fan was cast in Armatmetal s.r.o. in Olomouc.
Optimized lost wax process by using numerical simulation
Svobodová, Radka ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to ascertain the process of injecting the wax through an injection moulding machine under certain input conditions and with the help of the simulation program Cadmould 3D-F®, to perfect the injection and the following solidification of the wax. Only thanks to a perfect injection and the following solidification of the wax, a precise wax pattern can be made. In order to compare the process of injecting the wax mixture, we are helped by the Cadmould 3D-F® simulation program and the records of the injection taken by a video camera. In this thesis a simulation program used when simulating the injection of plastics was applied, as a means of comparison. In this case the similarity between the rheological characteristics of both wax and plastic was exploited.
Actual trends in manufacturing of non-permanent wax patterns
Kolesár, Roman ; Jedovnický, Jan (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The thesis describes the actual trends in the production of wax patterns for investment casting process. First an overview of waxes and methods of the testing is provided. Then there is a description of the workflow, from making a die to an injection of wax mixture. The second part of the work is devoted to wax pattern defects, their causes and methods of removal.
Actual trends in manufacture of permanent patterns made of progressive materials
Štokman, Michal ; Cupák, Petr (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Rapid Prototyping is an important part of modern foundry industry. The aim of this thesis is to create an overview of different methods for making permanent RP models and sand molds, as applied to rapid prototyping.
Optimized ceramic shell for manufacturing of aluminium castings by using lost wax technology
Mazůrek, Tomáš ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of optimization of ceramic shell molds in the method of investment casting. In the first part is mentioned a complete technological process of the method with focusing on production and quality control of the ceramic shell and components, from which it is produced. The experimental part is divided into two parts, in the first are results of laboratory tests, which were tested both the current ceramic shell and shells which have been considered as a possible replacement. In the second section were verified conclusions of the experimental findings and recommendations of the laboratory results in pilot plant conditions.
