Treatment Outcome Evaluation of Therapeutic Community for Drug Addicts

Evaluace výsledků léčby v terapeutické komunitě pro drogově závislé Martin Šefránek Abstrakt: Východiska: Výzkumem podložené závěry prokazující efektivitu léčby v terapeutických komunitách pro léčbu závislostí a umožňující mezinárodní srovnání jsou v ČR ojedinělé. "Evaluace výsledků léčby v terapeutické komunitě pro drogově závislé" je v ČR první prospektivní výzkumná studie hodnoticí efektivitu léčby uživatelů drog v terapeutických komunitách. Cil: Cílem studie je vyhodnotit, jak se změnilo užívání drog, kriminalita, osobní a sociální fungování a kvalita života uživatelů drog 1 rok po ukončení léčby. Metody: Data byly sbírány prostřednictvím strukturovaných interview s klienty terapeutických komunit. Studie porovnává změny v problémovém chování klientů ve 30 dnech před začátkem léčby a ve 30 dnech po 1 roce od jejího ukončení. Základním výzkumným nástrojem je the Maudsley Addiction Profile, který jsme doplnili o další měření. Soubor: Výzkumný soubor tvoří 176 uživatelů drog, kteří v letech 2007 a 2008 zahájili léčbu v rezidenční terapeutické komunitě. 1 rok po ukončení léčby byly data získány od 77.8% (N=137) klientů. Na studii participovaly 4 terapeutické komunity. Výsledky: Po 1 roce od ukončení léčby došlo k signifikantnímu nárůstu abstinence od metamfetaminu, opiátových drog a benzodiazepinů. Před...

The personal assistance in social services

This graduation thesis is named The Social Work in the Social Services (focused on personal asistence). The base for this thesis was the formation of new law of social services. The application of this law is dated to 1th January 2007. I wrote first chapter about the genesis of this law and the genesis of social help at all. One important subchapter is dedicated the sphere of activity of affairs administration. I subsecquently subscribe the potent and weak parts of the law in second chapter. Part of this chapter is aimed at conditions and standards of providing any of social services. I described the role of social worker in social services in third chapter. One subchapter is focused on social workers in personal assistance as well. The important point of obligatory level of education is mentioned in this chapter. The main part is focused on the social work especially in personal assistence. There is presented the situation in current personal assistance in one rubric. Here I wrote about the positive and negative facts of personal assistence in present days. The important piece of social work is a personal assistant. This work is devoted to problems of support systems of families with handicap children. The aim of this work is exploring the support systems of families with handicap children in the Czech Republic. (There is possibility to compare the region of Prague and Pardubice.) The theoretical part describes basic characterization of disability, it is intent on families who are take care of children with disability, it describes too social network and it also points out the common problems of the social care for individuals with handicap and possibilities of support goups. In order to achieve the aim of this work, it was necessary to obtain needful data. Therefore, a structured interview was used as one of the techniques of qualitative research. Among those who were interviewed were parents of handicap children. Because there are only twenty families in the research group of this diploma thesis it is not possible to generalize obtained information for all families with handicap children. Comparation of NZDM offer with users' expectation

Bachelor thesis "Comparation of NZDM offer with users expectation" discuss the lowtreshold clubs for children and youth like a nearly new kind of social service. Thesis is sectored for teoretical and for practical parts. In the first part is discussed idea NZDM and the canon of lowlandings. There is a part about history and basements of lowtreshold clubs in Czech republic and the moorings of NZDM in a law. There is a description of an exploring coil which was used between Jahoda low-treshold club on Černý Most ward in Prague 14 in practical part. This part of thesis locates users conception about the perception "low-treshold", about supply of low-treshold club and about users expetancy. The coil has 3 parts. The 1st part is about users, who came to the NZDM first time, the second part is about users, who are coming to the NZDM rarelly for a long time, and the last part of the coil is about change of conception of NZDM by the firts time users after visiting low-treshold club for a longer time. The empirical coil became not only for the bachelor thesis, but it should be the first step for next systematic testing of the low-treshold club as well as it needed for better functional for users.

Debt consultancy in cabs: contemporary conditions and proposals for further development

Theoretical part of this thesis prezents an analysis of current debt advising providers. The chapters of first part - evalutes actual positions of debt-advicing centers and its staff, and is completed in final chapter as koncept for future development of debt-advicing in Citizen Advice. Work with clients, suffering broad problems with payingoff their debts is more advice- experience demanding . Such a task demands more skills, abilities and deeper knowledge of debt recovery solutions.My viewpoit I acquired working on my Thesis, gathering my personel advisor's experience, participating at workshops and on-job law trainings and last but not least - with my active debt advisory involvement. Now I surely believe: this is very important work-field especially in a current situation. To have specialized social worker for debt advicing - needs to fill his acreditation scheme and continuous education focused on narrow part of debt advicing in order enable him to become specialized expert, understanding his role, value and professionalism.

Child abuse and neglect and possibilities of his legal protection (in context of family preservation)

Problematika spadající pod syndrom CAN - zejména je-li pachatelem rodič dítěte - je velmi závažným společenským selháním. Rovněž tento druh násilí má pro dítě, které je na svých rodičích emocionálně i materiálně závislé, důsledky, které si nese dál životem. V práci jsem čerpala ze studia odborné literatury, jež mi pomohla hlouběji proniknout do dané problematiky a pochopit patologické jevy, které ji doprovázejí. Vycházela jsem z potřeby účinné pomoci dětským obětem syndromu CAN, s vyzvednutím faktu, že separace dítěte od rodičů není vždy tím nej lepším řešením. Rovněž jsem se zaměřila na nutnost vzájemně sladěné, interdisciplinární a koordinované spolupráce, jako preventivního faktoru podílejícího se na snížení rizika systémového týrání dítěte. Vše výš uvedené jsem prakticky ukázala na zvolených kasuistikách. Přínos práce spočívá v sumarizaci ( a návrzích možných řešení) závažných nedostatků a problémových oblastí, jenž se na poli ochrany práv a zájmů dítěte vyskytují a v metodickém popsání sociální práce s rodinou metodou sanace, na českém poli relativně nové oblasti, která může být jak cestou prevence výskytu syndromu CAN, tak i cestou následné úspěšné pomoci. The evaluation of efficiency of the social integration strategic plan in Jáchymov town

Subject of this thesis is to evaluate effectivity of Strategic plan of social integration in the town of Jáchymov. Thesis is focused on the process of planning and effectivity of measures suggested in Strategic plan. Beside the main focus it also assesses the overall social situation of Jáchymov. It collects and describes activities aiming on social integration. It describes and evaluates the process of design and implementation of strategic plan. Connection of both areas provides a better insight into the whole topic. Based on the results of research this thesis provides possible measures to improve the quality of planning process of social services and to improve the living conditions of Jáchymov's inhabitants. This thesis can serve as a guideline to initiate proceses associated with social services planning or community activities planning. Anti-discrimination legislation in practice of social work

Bachelor's thesis "Anti-discrimination legislation in practice of social work" is concerned with the describing of the impact of anti-discrimination legislation in the context of antiopressive approach to social work. Stresses the importance of paradigm of social work (social work as a reform of the social environment) and its potential impact not only on individuals, but on possible reform and upgrading the quality of society's wealth. Anti-discrimination legislation can finally give people, victims of discrimination, and the social workers, who work with victims, the reserve and defence tool. In the meantime it is missing in our legislation.
