Perspective of Senior Homeless Population on Non-profit Organizations

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of non-profit organizations focused on helping senior homeless senior people or people in otherwise difficult situations. In the theoretical part, we will find the anchoring of the topic in the literature and the definition of the researched topics, which are the theory of the emergence of civil society, the definition of homelessness, its forms and causes, the possibilities of solving the homeless situation and legal anchoring in the Czech Republic. The practical part is focused on obtaining the necessary data from narrative interviews in the targeted organization dealing with helping homeless seniors in Prague. With the help of interviews, information was obtained regarding the use of the services of non-profit organizations, how the clients got into this life situation and what their other options are. At the end of the thesis, a comparison of findings from interviews with clients of the asylum and recommendations for possible improvement of the services provided is given.

Poetry in the Service of Ideology

English Resume This thesis is based on thorough examination of collection of poems written by Ivan Skála "Co si beru na cestu" (What I take for a journey) in 1975. The collection got National award of Klement Gottwald and therefore it's possible to consider it to be one of the canonical pieces of socialistic literature. The thesis demonstrates the fact, that the collection is not representation of pure political lyrics. The collection is a combination of intimate and natural lyrics, also its propagandistic function is apparent because of its author's political involvement and orientation. The thesis discovers the ways of realization of propagandistic function and its most common methods. Motives of socialistic propaganda are more or less hidden in the whole collection, however they are present both in poems of purely political nature and natural and reflexive lyrics. Through an analysis of text levels (formal, thematic, language) I tried to characterize the ideological schemes contained in whole collection. One of the interesting conclusions is the fact, that the collection is characterized by the intimate manifestation of its author, who reflects his own original values. The Millennium trilogy in the genre transformations

In the thesis I would like to focus on the very topical literary work: Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson who died in 2004. The trilogy consists of three parts: The girl with the dragon tattoo, The girl who played with fire and The girl who kicked the hornets' nest. The trilogy will be examined from the perspective of genre determination. With the professional literature I would like to describe each genre and it's possibility of use. I would also like to find a typical features of particular genre in different forms: situations, characters, conflicts, etc. One part of my thesis will be dedicated to the writer and his autobiography traits. I would also like to turn to the fourth part of the trilogy by David Lagercrantz. I will try to answer the question why the trilogy has been extended, what literature genre is characteristic for the writer and what changes have been made in content or formal features of the story. During my work I would like to compare the trilogy with other Nordic literature pieces to find the cause of increasing sale of this kind of literature nowadays.
