Shamanic disco- from yidaki to didjeridoo. Case study of invention of tradition

Exotic and alternative music instrument didjeridoo is well world known these days. Nevertheless, few musicians and people who are interested in this area of today's worldmusic are aware of New Age phenomena which shape the image of this instrument. Fresh view into this problematic has brough anthropological theory of invented tradition. The original yidaki from North East Arnhemland has gone through long journey to todays known instrument didjeridoo. The meaning of this instrument has change quite a lot and method of material culture has been applied to understand its real or multiple agency in our todays postmodern world. This work is based on five month stay in North East Arnhemland in surrounding region of Yirrkala and various interviews done in Europe. Essential part of this study is also participative observation on different locations. Literature research of topics dedicated to Arnhem Land realia has been done in London British Library, University College of London thanks to grand secured from Charles University. Literature and needed inspiration for completion of theoretical issues has been kindly presented by Radovan Haluzik from Department of Antropology, Charles University, Prague.
People versus cormorants

Great Cormorant belongs to those animal species, whose feeding habits are in conflict with economic interests of humans. As predator feeding entirely on fish, Great Cormorants in Europe had been nearly hunted to extinction in the past and therefore classified as endangered species in 20th century. Because of conservation efforts and other positive factors involved, its numbers increased unprecedented and its distribution expanded across all Europe. From the early eighties ideal conditions for breeding were found also in Trebonsko Protected Land Area (PLA) in Southern Bohemia. Trebonsko is not only PLA but has been also known as center of Czech pond culture for many centuries. Appearance of Great Cormorant stirred up conflict between conservationist and fishermen, who suffered a financial loss. Purpose of this work was to approach background of this conflict and to present attitudes and opinions of all concerned parties. The study starded with media search and a set of questionnaires was completed by different groups as professional fishermen, conservationist, game fishermen, local citizens and tourists visiting the PLA. What Your Dog Should Do? Ethnography of a Dog Training School.

Through research carried out at a dog training school this master's thesis aims to study what compulsion, motives, reasons and intentions both conscious and unconscious are related to the phenomenon of the "dog lovers culture", fancy and training in order to examine a variety of issues related to the interaction between man and dog. This paper focuses on examining the following questions: What does a dog mean for a man? Is it still treated as an animal? What another roles and ambitions does it embody? How and why does a dog tolerate this treatment?
The Possibilities of Film in Artefiletic

My magister work will be the theoretical reflection of my final project with the children from children´s home. The aim is the analysis of the forming the real/fictional identity of the children from the children's home. The research material are the own audiovisual works of the 7 gypsy children and the interviews with them, which I will evaluate in the context of the ideological analysis of media pictures, which effect on the children.
