Soukup, Miroslav ; Gráf, Václav (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
In recent years, debate has erupted on the Czech highway construction costs. Alleged legacy infrastructure projects, along with the ever-dwindling funds for their construction have led to the revision of the current method of financing. The new government instead of the traditional budget financing started to promote the model of Public-Private Partnership. Aim of this paper is to assess and compare the effectiveness of different forms of funding transport infrastructure. It introduces the concept of PPP, its strengths, weaknesses and analyzes the concrete experience of countries with the implementation of sector-specific liner construction. As another possible alternative, purely private source funding model is introduced. It is discussed its options, benefits, risks and it's analyzed how much money collected from the road-taxes is actually invested back into transport infrastructure. Finally a model of privatization highway network is introduced.

This bachelor thesis introduces the problematic of Czech doctor's migration. Principal asset of the study is to determine the potential migration of doctors in the region of Liberec by using both theoretical and empirical tools. The aim of the work is to analyze whether a fear of future shortages of medical personnel in the Czech Republic is justified. The target will be achieved by using a questionnaire survey across all areas of specialization in this particular segment of the economy. Since the Czech Republic entered into the European Union, the number of Czech doctors, who leave the country and search for better working conditions in other member states, has been increasing dramatically year after year. The alarming thing is that the fastest growth of doctor's migration has been recorded among recent graduates of medical faculties. Results of survey show us the level of Czech doctors from selected region considering working abroad.
The Roaming Regulation
Koblihová, Veronika ; Císař, Jan (advisor) ; Gráf, Václav (referee)
This diploma thesis examines the issue of the roaming regulation. The goal was to find out whether it had been necessary to regulate roaming prices at the EU level and what consequences it has and will have for individuals in the market - especially consumers, mobile operators, politicians, and also for the single European market. The basic hypothesis is that the roaming regulation will ultimately lead to a reduction in consumer utility, and therefore there is no substantial improvement to the single European market. The first part describes current developments in the roaming regulation and presents arguments for and against regulation. The second part then discusses the presented arguments. The impact on various market players is examined using the available data.

Analysis of Czech exports to markets outside the EU
Vinter, Michal ; Gráf, Václav (advisor) ; Urban, Luděk (referee)
Throughout the transformation process during 1990's has the Czech Republic undergo many important changes. One of these was the temporary abandonment of Eastern European markets and the rapid growth in export share of EU markets. With the passing of time, however, the interest of Czech exporters turned once again towards the emerging markets. This paper presents a theoretical framework that affect trade between the Czech Republic and non-EU countries and uses analytical tools to estimate their specific manifestations in czech exports. Used concept of macroeconomic competitiveness and gravity model of international trade shows that price competitiveness of czech exports still provides the relative advantage, but on the other is the potential of exports bound by the quality of institutions. The model show that the specific demand factors used in this study eg. the impact of historical business partnerships and the degree of development of importing countries are significant. When comparing the actual export values with the values predicted by model, we observe that, on average, Czech exports to the analyzed countries is above its potential.

Furthermore, the bachelor thesis brings up other interesting assumptions stemming from the provided analysis. To the work's close, recommendations to increasing regulation's efficiency are inferred.
