Functional safety of pressure transmitters of BD SENSORS company
Šimoník, Martin ; Hlinka,, Jiří (referee) ; Fuchs,, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis examines the functional safety of the pressure sensor XMP i which is produced by BD SENSORS Company. The aim of this thesis is the demonstration of compliance of the pressure sensor XMP I with functional safety integrity level SIL3 requirements. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the concept of functional safety, defines the basic concepts of functional safety, compares the approaches of functional safety according to selected standards and provides a general procedure for the functional safety determination. The second part deal with technical systems reliability defines reliability indicators and describes selected types of reliability analysis used in practice, especially the FMEA/FMECA analysis. Third part deals with the reliability analysis of the sensor XMP i and with evaluation of results.
A Barn for Everyone: Rural Community Life in Barn-Inspired Houses
Fuchs, Pavel
The social life of rural areas has traditionally revolved around pubs, gyms, and, in recent years, cultural centres. The essence of these meeting places is intricately linked with their formal characteristics. Recently, there have been several significant projects in the Czech Republic that have transformed private estates into public spaces. In some instances, these new constructions draw inspiration from the rural barn. What kind of dynamic arises when these different architectural forms intersect, and how does this design approach influence the surrounding environment? This study primary delves into two case studies from the small villages of Skalička and Opatovice to explore these questions further.
Emergency lighting control
Vyroubal, Rostislav ; Sala, Pavel (referee) ; Fuchs, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design a system for monitoring and control battery charge of emergency lighting. Discuss and choose components with respect to cost and accessibility. Design full circuit scheme and PCB with chosen components is provided. Designed system is compiled and tested in order. The item of discussion is measured discharging characteristics and conditions of accumulator.
Development of the Construction of Residential Property in Brno, the Starý Lískovec Cadastral Territory
Fuchs, Ondřej ; Vala, Vlastimil (referee) ; Klika, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the development of construction of residential real estate in Brno, in the area of Starý Lískovec, which was the original village but became a city district. The work maps the types of construction in different time series, from the oldest construction to modern construction. It also deals with the future development of the city district, planned construction and projects. A more detailed analysis of the period where panel buildings were build, which is crucial for the area in terms of residential construction.
The occurrence and the function of eyespots in the vertebrate colouration
Helebrant, Václav ; Fuchs, Roman (advisor) ; Pipek, Pavel (referee)
Eyespots are a striking feature in the colouration of many animals. These are spots of a circular shape, which in their external appearance subjectively resemble the eyes of vertebrates. In invertebrates, they are found in insects, crustaceans and molluscs, while they are most widespread in butterflies. Within vertebrates, eyespots are most common in fish. Among amphibians, they are found in frogs, but their occurrence has not yet been mapped in detail. Eyespots occur rather rarely in reptiles and birds, and only remotely similar patterns can be found in mammals. Current research on the function of eyespots more or less reliably demonstrates that they play an important role in defense against predators or in communication within intraspecific interactions. The eyespots can fulfill the anti-predation function in two ways. According to the intimidation hypothesis, eyespots serve to prevent a predator from attacking. However, it is not yet entirely clear whether the spots frighten predators because of their similarity to the eyes of dangerous animals, or whether predators avoid the spots because of their conspicuousness and contrast with the surroundings. According to the deflection hypothesis, eyespots attract predators, but they direct the attack away from vital parts of the prey's body. In...
The occurrence and the function of aggressive mimicry in the vertebrates
Sommerová, Tereza ; Fuchs, Roman (advisor) ; Pipek, Pavel (referee)
Aggressive mimicry is used by a predator or parasite to deceive a potential prey or host. This bachelor thesis briefly summarizes other similar definitions of this phenomenon a then focuses on the species, especially vertebrates, that are included under this category. The use of the aggressive mimicry by fish of the families Blenniidae, Serranidae, Antennariidae, Labridae a snakes of the families Viperidae, Elapidae a Colubridae is described in more detail. Key worlds: aggressive mimicry, Peckhamian mimicry, caudal luring, toe/pedal luring, lingual luring
Productivity of Czech state administration with focus on IT technology and costs connected with use of modern technologies
Fuchs, Pavel ; Pleticha, Petr (advisor) ; Janský, Petr (referee)
Czech state government is often criticized because of slow implementation of new information technologies (IT). Furthermore, IT-related government contracts are frequently overpriced and the official analyses say only little about the projects' efficiency. The paper inquiries into relatively homogenous level of local government represented by municipalities of extended competence. These jurisdictions have to guarantee extensive portfolio of services, however they have relative freedom of investment decision making. We used Data Envelopment Analysis and assigned each municipality with efficiency score. We found out that higher investment in IT does not stand for improved efficiency and indicates inefficiencies in public spending. We also described an ambiguous effect of the size of the district and a significant negative effect of amount of clerks.
The role of TGFß and study of prognostic factors of patients with MDS and AML
Provazníková, Dana ; Fuchs, Ota (advisor) ; Pohlreich, Petr (referee) ; Martásek, Pavel (referee)
We did not find mutation in coding areas of genes for components of TGFbeta1 signaling pathway but we detected decreased or undetectable expression of these analysed genes. The decreased expression is probably caused by epigenetic changes, so by hypermethylation and deacetylation of promoter regionsof these genes.Antiproliferative and apoptotic effect of TGF1 was analysed in AML cell lines (ML1, ML2, CTV1 and Kasumi1). ML2 cells rezistence to inhibition of DNA synthesis by TGFβ1 is not caused by mutations of genes for components of TGFβ1 signaling pathway. We found that increased SnoN (Ski-like novel gene) expression on the level of coresponding mRNA and protein is probably accountable for this rezistence. Kasumi1 and M2 cells were sensitive to induction of apoptózis caused by TGFβ1 treatment but in less extent than by proteazome inhibitor bortezomib. The difference of AML cells of different lines answers shows a great heterogeneity AML in AML patients. Prognostic factors analysis in AML with normal karyotype confirmed that CEBPA (CCAAT/enhancer binding protein alpha) mutations predict favourable prognosis but the elevated EVI1 ("Ecotropic Virus Integration Site 1") and ERG ("ETS-related gene") expression are connected with unfavourable prognosis. EVI1 is a negative marker for MDS as well. We did not confirm...
