Eliášová, Marie ; Papežová, Hana (advisor) ; Maulisová, Alice (referee)
The diploma thesis approaches the issue of monitoring one's own activity using digital technologies in the context of eating disorders. The aim of the research part is to use a non- interventional quantitative quasi-experimental study to map the impact of using a smart watch, i.e. a specific type of monitoring tool that monitors daily physical activity, on selected areas of treatment for eating disorders. The treatment was assessed in terms of general symptomatology, excessive exercise, regulation of emotions and overall assessment of therapy. Data collection was carried out at the Center for Eating Disorders at the Psychiatric Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague. The research compared scores obtained at two time points, based on the use of smart watches patients with an eating disorder (n = 35) were divided into two groups in the analysis. The statistical analysis of the data showed that patients using smart watches did not achieve statistically significantly more severe manifestations of eating disorders, even during specialized treatment. However, it seems that the group using smart watches shows a tendency towards more severe manifestations in the area of general symptoms and excessive exercise. Key words eating disorders;...

Assessment of dietary and regimen knowledge in patients with acute coronary syndrome
Eliášová, Marie ; Vrablík, Michal (advisor) ; Šatný, Martin (referee)
Introduction: Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) belong to cardiovascular diseases and contribute significantly to mortality, morbidity and disability in developed countries. Therefore the aim of current therapy is to reduce the risk of subsequent complications, including early death, and to increase patients' quality of life. For successful therapy it is necessary to follow regimen and dietary principles which are along with pharmacotherapy an integral part of treatment. Therefore sufficient knowledge of these principles by patients is a basic precondition for their successful treatment. Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was to assess dietary and regime knowledge in patients diagnosed with ACS. The specific objectives were: to determine an effect of sex or previous education on the knowledge; to describe patients' dietary habits; to specify their knowledge of nutrition; and to identify which knowledge is the most deficient. Methods: The research was carried out as a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was compiled directly for the purposes of this thesis and was approved by the VFN Ethics Committee for use in inpatient wards at II. and III. internal clinics and at the Coronary unit of II. internal clinics of VFN. A total of 80 patients diagnosed with ACS were included in the study....
An analysis of simple carbohydrate content in fruit as a means of data verification for use in clinical practice
Eliášová, Marie ; Starnovská, Tamara (advisor) ; Vyhnánková, Ivana (referee)
Introduction: Nowadays an occurrence of diseases related to carbohydrate metabolism, such as diabetes mellitus, obesity, metabolic syndrome or cardiovascular diseases, is rising. The medical nutrition which is an integral part of the therapy of these diseases includes a recommendation of fruit intake. Nevertheless, this recommendation does not take into account differences in carbohydrate content and composition in various fruit species. The simple carbohydrate intake by patients with the mentioned diseases can have serious medical consequences and therefore, it would be appropriate to make a selection of suitable and unsuitable fruit species based on their carbohydrate content and composition. With such knowledge it would be possible to create or specify recommendations for fruit intake for the mentioned diseases. The data of carbohydrate content and composition in fruit are publicly available in Czech Food Composition Database, nevertheless, these data should not be used to make recommendations until their validity is checked. An independent chemical analysis is an effective tool for verification of the data validity. Objectives: The first objective of this thesis was to perform an independent chemical analysis of various fruit species to characterize their simple carbohydrates and assess,...

ELIÁŠOVÁ, Marie
This work describes differences between Czech and Austrian medical care. The terminology focuses on a different naming of oncological departments in medical facilities and on addressing the medical staff in Austria and in the Czech Republic. It also defines disciplines of oncological care and screening, which are offered to an oncological patient. My own experience is described at the end of the work, where the different methods are mentioned.
