Motivation and Stimulation of Volunteers in a Multidisciplinary Team

This thesis focuses on the direction and coordination of volunteers in organisations with multidisciplinary teams working with homeless people, and the challenges faced by both these organisations and their volunteers. The results of the experimental section, which focuses on the motivation of volunteers and stimulation from the organisations, have their basis in practical research using semi-structured interviews with leading workers at the organisations, their volunteers, and volunteers from the Labre project, which represents an introductory characterisation of the problem in practice; one which the respondents then refer to in the interviews. Problem areas as identified by both the workers and the volunteers themselves include integration into the organisation, unsupervised activity, non-stimulating conditions, irregular contact, and apathy from the side of the target group. Systematic leadership by a volunteer coordinator is financially demanding for the organisations, and the workers attend to their volunteers in addition to other competences, making systematic leadership more difficult. The Issue of a Barrier-free Space in European Capitals - Prague and Berlin

The aim of the thesis is primarily to draw attention to the issue of accesibility of public transport for people with constrained ability to move and limited orientatation in Prague, as well as the issue of movement of handicapped people in the capital. This situation is simultaniously compared to Berlin, capital city of the neighbouring Federal Republic of Germany, and the implemented alternative solutions are contemplated. Reflecting on the disproportional difference of the wheelchair accesible possibilities in both capitals is crutial, taking the areas of history, wellfare, legislation and finance into consideration. The oportunity to improve the situation and the future vision of the issue with regard to the freshly initiated barrier-free projects is highlighted in the end of the thesis. Integration of Children with Different Nationality in Elementary School

This master thesis focuses on problems with integration of children with different nationality in elementary school. According to statistical data there is increase of foreigners and children with different nationality in elementary schools in the Czech Republic. This thesis deals with attitude of authorities to this problem, e.g. elaboration of programs contributes to integration, change of legislation etc. There is an important condition in school to have basic knowledge about different nationalities which are most frequent in elementary school. For that reason is part of thesis focused on characteristic of these nationalities. The objective of the thesis is not to deal with Romany nationality. The practical part includes results of questionnaire. The goal was to monitor situation in elementary schools in Prague (6th - 9th classes). The main purpose was to get experience from teachers and schoolmasters. On the basis of these results there were elaborate recommendations for elementary school according to methods which works well in integration of children with different nationality.
