Second half of the practical part explains how economic policies influence the Czech energetics. This impact is being studied in terms of legislation, regulations, monetary and fiscal policy. The practical part ends with rating and valuation of costs that arise from the main energy resources. The link between energetics and macroeconomic development was discovered and proved thanks to the doubled analysis used in the thesis.

Foreign direct investment impact on selected macroeconomic indicators of the economy of the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2013
Švec, Petr ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Zamrazilová, Eva (referee)
Subject of this diploma thesis is to provide an overview of economic theories on why companies tend to invest at foreign markets directly and thus to determine the foreign direct investment (FDI) itself. Covered areas include a foreign direct investment typology, motivation to invest, localisation factors, attractiveness and measurement of a host country business environment. Various types of FDI, methodology and forms of FDI statistical coverage analysis is included in the thesis. Three frameworks influencing all the segments of the FDI are covered in depth. These include the foreign policy factors, domestic policy factors and a process of economic transformation in the Czech Republic. Corresponding analytics map a development between a FDI and selected macroeconomic indicators of the Czech Republic. The analysis shows that foreign investment has a certain influence over selected macroeconomic indicators, however it is not always possible to quantify it as well as to predict its trend. On the other side it is often difficult to prove an influence of macroeconomic development on intensity of the FDI inflow to the Czech Republic. Keywords: foreign investment, determinants of the foreign direct investment inflow, foreign direct investment macroeconomic indicators
Analysis of the position of persons with disability in the labor market in the years 2000 - 2014
Kolářová, Michaela ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Brabec, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with a position of persons with disability (PWD) in the labor market from the perspective of these individuals. Based on the data obtained by questionnaire survey was conducted SWOT analysis which shows that PWD do not perceive negatively their own position on labor market. However, there is always something to improve, whether by themselves or in the surroundings in which they move. Furthermore, this thesis analyzes the impact of legislative measures to promote the employment of people with disabilities in 2000 - 2014. Based on the data obtained by the Czech Statistical Office was conducted regression analysis of three models. Estimates of econometric models support the hypothesis that higher unemployment in the case of persons without a disability employment is declining persons with disabilities. Further, it failed to confirm the hypothesis that the impact of legislative changes to promote employment for persons with disabilities has a positive effect on the employment of these persons. The last hypothesis that says that these legislative changes have no impact on the unemployment rate of persons without a disability was confirmed.
The analysis of causes of the youth unemployment (15-24 age class) in European Union in years 2000-2015
Šulai, Michal ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Bartůsková, Lucia (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to analyze main causes of youth unemployment in countries of European Union. In order to assess main determinants of this negative phenomenon, an econometric model based on panel data was constructed. Source dataset, containing mainly Eurostat data, covers EU-28 countries in the 2000-2014 period. Results of a regression inclined that youth unemployment is effected mainly by overall economic development. Youth unemployment is more sensitive for economic downturns than unemployment in an adult age class. The model also suggested that cuts in payroll taxes and deregulation in the minimum wage legislation could have positive effect on youth employment. Based on the literature, reforms toward more practical and effective education system with elements of dual apprenticeship, could be also a positive step in tackling youth unemployment. However, an econometric-based proof of this hypothesis was not found.

Ďoubal, Jakub ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Czesaný, Slavoj (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the impacts of business cycles on individual segments of the automotive industry in the last 23 years in the Czech Republic. The areas analysed are sales and production of cars. Attention is also paid to the downstream industry of parts producers. The theoretical part deals with the theoretical approaches of the business cycle, basic methods of measurement cycles and, furthermore, theories related to the automotive industry. The analysis in the practical part is developed on this theoretical basis. The analytical section is divided in three parts according to three full cycles that went through the analysed time period. What was most apparent was the difference of every cycle. It is from this difference that the different impact of cycle on analysed indicators in each period comes. However, it is evident that the automotive industry is behaving procyclically. Most of the indicators are weakly or moderately cyclical, based on the correlation coefficient.
